Alice In Another World's
Chapter 05: The Story of the Shoe Country

When I arrived at the tavern, the young man who had been there was waiting for me with a cup of coffee near his hand, he looked uneasy about something as if he wanted to be able to leave his existence just like that.

When I greeted him he was a little surprised.

"You seem to."

Either me or him no one really wanted to know what our names were, as if the affairs we were going to discuss were more important than anything.

I ordered a cup of coffee for me to drink as well, the young man waited for me to sip the tea before opening his mouth.

"I think I'm the only one stuck here, let's work together to escape from here."

"Hm."

I obviously didn't know what he meant, but the young man immediately apologized and explained the things I needed to know from this town.

First is that the city has been condemned, it is true that the country was saved from selling shoes but what happened was that the residents of this country took the design of shoes belonging to someone who stopped here before.

They planned it together and drove the man away, before he left he swore that whoever wore those shoes would not be separated from them to death and would continue to be trapped inside this city.

A few years from that nothing happened but after that people began to bond with the shoes, until finally this country is referred to as the country of shoes, the state of shoes, for those who know this truth they are reluctant to enter this city.

Once inside they will never come back.

I sighed softly to listen to the continued story of this young man.

"You need permission from the lord of this city to get out, and that permission will be granted if you put on his shoes, of course when you wear them you will not attempt to leave this place, there my friends.they don't even intend to go back to their birthplace."

I could see a bunch of other young men who looked happy to be a pelvic coolie.

"The shoes that got you tied up in this place, there's obviously nothing we can do about the curse, let's run away, then do you have a way?"

Since he was the one who suggested it then I'm sure he had a thing or two that he had been thinking about for a long time.

He glanced to the left right making sure no one heard him.

"We're going to set up a fire that the guards are trying to put out, when one of us can sneak in."

I cut immediately.

"Then how about one more person?"

"He who must make his fire and then one man outside will throw a rope from outside the wall to save the man inside."

"One of us has to climb that high wall."

"There's no way around it anymore."

I hurriedly picked the person who slipped out. I thought he was going against it but he thought rationally.

"Give me assurance that you won't leave me."

I gave him a dagger.

"This?"

"It's worth a lot, the price might be hundreds of gold coins, I'll take it back after you come out as well."

"That's great."

I could have left this guy without caring about his dagger but if I did I might have turned into a monster and guilt would haunt me forever

After that, I will do my best.

By night I had been sneaking near the city gate while dragging White next to me.

"Sorry man, we're going out like this, run as hard as you can."

As if understanding what I said White nodded her head obediently. According to the young man, the guards here are very limited because when there is a fire they will soon gather to try to extinguish it.

I climbed onto White's back then patted her gently before she finally ran and got out of the city with me. We're heading for the outer wall of the city.

I went down and then hooked the rope on the tree before taking the other end of the rope that should be tied to an arrow that I'm pulling right now.

Truly too rash a plan, what if someone was not skilled in archery, the plan would obviously fail, while I sat leaning against the tree the figure of the young man had been at the top, he said, to get down he used some sort of homemade parachute and landed well even though it seemed like it also looked a little painful.

"You did well."

"Of course there were no casualties there.I've been thinking about this for a long time, no matter what happens I have to get out of that place."

He gave me back the dagger I had hung back to my waist, only then did I realize that I had not found out about the magic I was looking for.

When I asked the young man he shook his head.

"Things like magic are not in there, though invisible, but the country is actually quite isolated from the outside world, from what I know they make various crafts and other things and later there will be a merchant who will exchange them, can with money or objects they need."

"So all that time the people from inside there never came out."

"True, and the guards were not to be noticed wearing shoes." they were the merchant's man."

A place to be avoided.

I turned my gaze towards the city gate I was about to leave, there were many outsiders who entered.

"Do you think they'll be able to get out of there?" ask the young man.

"That's it, which is clear that wherever they can find happiness."

"Why do you insist on going back?"

"That's because there's someone waiting for me at home. As long as you have a place to go, nothing will stop you."

That's a good word.

I could only see the young man leaving from where I was standing.

"Do you think Margaret's waiting for me to come home too, if that's my parents they're too busy to know where I am. That's right, you don't know about Margaret, as I walk I'll tell her."

I pulled White to walk down this path, I hope next I can find a normal city.

A few days after I arrived in a new foreign country, they all did not wear shoes instead just wearing sandals covered in socks only.

An old man stopped me.

"Are you a traveler, if you go out of this way are you passing through the country of shoes?"

"I'd rather go in, too" I said.

"So, you must be the lucky one to get out of there. I somehow feel guilty for making them like that."

I fell silent as I glanced at the old man.

Don't tell this guy?

I climbed onto White's back.

"You didn't stop by this country first."

"I have other business."

I was as fast as I could to escape, the people in the city were indeed cruel but far from it the person who gave the curse was more cruel.

If only he would give the design of the shoes, it would not happen after all the king had offered money to do it.

Rice has become porridge, whatever regrets there will not change anything that has happened.
