Episode 18's

The warm yellow light from the lazy sleeping lamp illuminated everything in the room.

The air still carried a faint fragrance.

Jennifer and Lucas sat on the opposite side of a large bed, leaning against the soft head of the bed. Although they were covered by the same blanket, there was a clear boundary between their bodies, as if nothing had happened a moment ago.

Lucas picked up a cigarette box and a match on the bedside table. With his thumb, he opened the lid of the box and took out a cigarette. As he was about to bring her to his lips, he suddenly turned to Jennifer and asked, "May I smoke?"

Jennifer didn't expect him to be a smoker, but she still shook her head and replied, "Please."

Lucas put a cigarette between his lips, ignited the match flame with a light movement of one hand, and then slightly lowered his head to guide the cigarette into a bright flame of light.

Under the dim light, a faint halo accompanied him, emitting a soft light around him. As he lit the cigarette, his eyes were directed downwards, and a small shadow formed under his long eyelashes. The protruding nose blocked out some of the light, leaving a profile silhouette on his cheek.

In the game of light and shadow, he looks lazy and very alluring.

The most eye-catching is a well-defined and compact neck and shoulder line, along with a prominent junkyard.

As the cigarette lit up, he took a deep breath, then exhaled a long smoke. Among the swirling clouds of smoke, his jakun moved up and down.

While exhaling smoke, he suddenly felt the sight of the person beside him. Reflexively, she turned her head towards him, but Jennifer averted her gaze in an instant, grabbing her phone that was placed on the bedside table. He pretended to be careless and started scrolling through it.

Just as he was about to open the food messaging app, Lucas' voice suddenly broke the silence, "Are you hungry?"

Jennifer was about to reply with "Not hungry," but her stomach betrayed her with a loud rumble. Instantly, he heard Lucas' laughter.

Holding her principle "as long as I am not ashamed, others are ashamed," Jennifer took a deep breath and calmly replied, "Not hungry."

Lucas ignored him, saying, "We can still order food."

Jennifer gritted her teeth, "I'm not hungry!" After saying this, he looked at the clock. Not even midnight yet, and he regretted accepting Lucas' invitation. He was sure he could survive until the morning of tomorrow without having to starve like now.

Or order food or not? Jennifer's worried.

If she doesn't order, she'll starve, but ordering can lead to weight gain.

The order will arrive in thirty minutes. After ordering, Jennifer threw her phone on the pillow, lifted the blanket, and sat on the edge of the bed. He put on his sandals and said to Lucas behind him, "Get my phone, I'll take a shower."

Lucas looked at his smooth back as he lazily replied, "Yes."

Jennifer stood up from the bed after putting on her shoes, and Lucas' gaze instinctively lifted.

Her body shape was beautiful, with seductive curves as if carefully designed. Her long, dark, shimmering hair casually flowed over her shoulders, creating a sharp contrast to her white, silky skin.

At that moment, she admitted to herself that she was an enchanting woman. His appearance and body shape were naturally alluring, which was why he could not help but be attracted to her once more.

The sound of running water filled the bathroom, leaving Lucas bored and pondering, he lit another cigarette. When she sucks a few times, Jennifer's phone rings.

He assumed it was a delivery, but the call number display showed "Dion".

Lucas hesitated for a moment before picking up his phone and pressing the button receiving the call. When he brought the phone to his ear, he heard Dion's voice on the other end saying, "Are you home?"

Lucas replied, "Yes, he's in my house."

Dione: "..."

Lucas continued, "If you have something to say you know me, he's in the shower."

Dione: "..."

Lucas: "Why didn't you say anything? If there isn't, I'll hang up." With that, he ended the call and threw the phone back onto the pillow.

Dion doesn't call anymore.

More than ten minutes later, Jennifer came out of the bathroom, wearing a white bathrobe.

He was almost starving, so the first question to Lucas was, "Did the delivery already call?"

"No," Lucas answered honestly, "but your ex-husband called, and I answered."

Jennifer frowned, feeling somewhat surprised. "What did he say?"

"Don't know," Lucas replied lazily, "I told him you were in the shower, and he hung up the phone."

Jennifer: "..."

He felt something was strange, but could not confirm it.

However, he didn't care much about it, went to pick up his personal phone and asked Lucas, "You want to take a bath?"

Lucas replied, "I'm going to take a shower." He put the ashtray back on the bedside table and turned off his cigarette, then opened the blanket, got out of bed completely naked, and headed to the bathroom, wrapping a white towel around his waist.

Jennifer sat cross-legged on the bed, opened the food messaging app and realized that it would take another fifteen minutes to arrive.

Desperate, he fell back into bed and thoughtlessly scrolled his phone, starting from Twitter, then TikTok, through the entire trending page, and finally opening the Shopping App. As he was about to continue scrolling down the home page, a personal message notification popped up from Dilware Electronics.

Curiosity and surprise hit Jennifer, and she instinctively glanced towards the bathroom door just as it opened. Lucas came out of the bathroom, wearing only a white towel wrapped around his waist.

Jennifer momentarily did not know whether to continue reading the messages or ask Lucas if he was involved in whatever was going on.

As he hesitated, a third option appeared—bel door rang.

Definitely delivery!

Jennifer jumped out of bed, quickly put on her sandals, and hurriedly headed for the door.

However, when he opened the door, he froze on the spot.

Not a delivery, but Jonathan.
