Along the way home, Assena occasionally teases Altur by talking about Jessy. Altur just smiled with a glance at Assena behind the rearview mirror.
"Why does he look happy, so supportive if I'm close to Jessy. I wish Jessy was Assena. Ah what? think what I am. He even has a lover. Already, stop thinking like that again." muttered Altur inwardly, he shook his head, immediately brushed off his thoughts that were still hoping for Assena. But what his current position is so resounding that hoping for Assena's daughter from his employer is a mistake. He tried to bury deep hope, although it cannot be denied it is very difficult.
The journey feels long, Assena is preoccupied with thinking of various ways to bring Altur and Jessy closer.
While Altur is still struggling with his own feelings, to stop harboring those undue expectations.
It did not feel that the car they were riding in, had entered the gate of the house of Assena.
The car is parked in front of the yard. Assena's eyes were on a parked car, a car he knew who owned.
"Isn't that Doctor Roghi's car?" he even heard the voice of Altur.
"You're right." Assena.
For some reason, his feelings became unpleasant. When entering the area of his home atmosphere like tense gripping, especially seeing the doctor Roghi's car parked. Instantly the shadow of his father flashed through his mind.
When Altur was about to descend, Assena quickly prevented him. When seen doctor Roghi out of the house followed by Evelin.
"Wait a minute Altur!".
Altur astonishedly turned to the back seat where Assena was sitting. "What's wrong?".
But Assena did not answer, instead focused on looking out there.
Altur followed the view of Assena, it turns out that doctors Roghi and Evelim who became the center of attention Assena.
There seemed to be a serious conversation between Evelin and the doctor Roghi, and what was not missed from Assena's sight was Evelin's face that looked anxious.
What's the matter?
Assena opened the car door and got out. He stepped out to approach Dr. Roghi and his stepmother.
Assena's presence was also noticed by Evelin and doctor Roghi, making them look together in the direction where Assena was walking towards them.
"What's really going on? where's daddy?" by staring at Evelin and doctor Roghi alternately. Assena could not help what she was worried about her father's circumstances.
Suddenly doctors Roghi and Evelin throw one another's eyes.
"Dad's resting, baby." Evelin with a smile, trying to hide his anxiety.
"Did you get sick and Dr. Roghi was here?" Assena could not bear to ask.
"Your father is just not feeling well, and needs rest." Evelin searched for a word that did not make Assena suspicious and worried.
"Your father is fine, he just needs a break. You don't have to worry." Dr. Roghi followed. Because he knew, he had to hide the truth about Arkan's condition from Assena.
Slowly he opened the door, how shocking what he was seeing right now. Arkan was lying down, his eyes closed tightly. By wearing a breathing apparatus, also an infusion hose attached to his right hand.
Assena walked over, her eyes sweeping across Arkan's body, she completely ascertained how her father was doing. And the truth is as much as he worries, that his father is not doing well.
Visible both eyeballs Assena shiny coated clear liquid that he still resistant not to fall.
The sound of footsteps that sounded behind him, it was Evelin who was now approaching Assena.
Then Assena glanced at her stepmother who was already beside her.
"Is this what it's called that my dad's okay?" Assena stared intently at the downcast woman. He asked for an explanation for his father.
Evelin just fell silent, who did not know what to explain to Assena.
"Dear calm down, your father is fine if we pray for his health." Half whispered Evelin trying to give an explanation.
"Let's talk outside, we don't want to disturb your father's rest, do we?" Evelin pulled Assena's hand out of Arkan's room.
"Tell me? dad why? what's he sick of?" when you are outside the room. The row of questions escaped Assena's lips that could not bear to know about her father.
"Your father just needs to rest, after that he'll be fine."
"Don't lie! Tell the truth. Do you think I'll assume everything's okay. After seeing father like that. You think I didn't get suspicious when Dr. Roghi came here more often, and I saw the change in my father's skinnier, paler scales?" the row of words he blurted out still kept his voice from getting too loud. Now Assena can't stand to prevent her tears from coming out.
As Evelin scooped Assena in his arms, he was also seen crying.
"Honey.. Listen to me, no matter what your father is doing right now. We must keep thinking positively for your father's recovery, we must keep praying.
Know it? it's not just you who's worried about your father. I'm worried about him too, I want your dad to be okay too." Evelin said as she sobbed in her arms.
Instantly Assena let go of the hug. He looked at the face of the woman who became a mother. Her eyes were wet with tears.
"What does that mean? is Dad's situation so bad? what's the sick dad?" Assena held both of Evelin's shoulders, staring at the two eyeballs looking for honesty in them.
Evelin closed his eyes for a moment. He still had the courage to tell the truth. Although he hesitated a little, because he had already promised Arkan to cover this from Assean. But as Assena grew up, it wasn't easy to cover this up from her. The girl must have demanded the truth about her father's circumstances. Which he should know too.
"Please promise me if you say everything. You have to pretend you don't know. Because your father asked to hide all this. Your father doesn't want you to worry about him, he doesn't want his circumstances to weigh on your mind which can make you sad." Evelin gave a pause, taking a deep breath before connecting again.
"Your father had a disease. And the doctor has already ruled that your father can't be cured. Only drugs can help prolong your father's life." Evelin came back crying, this was so sad for him.
Assena looked at her stepmother's words, this was so surprising. Although he had expected the worst about his father's condition, but he did not expect that his father would suffer from an incurable disease like this. His chest felt tight to hear that fact, his tears melted down his cheeks.
He seemed to be shaking his head, trying to deny what he had heard. His body felt so limp, his chest felt tight. Until his body fell to the floor.
"Dad.." she shrieked before her consciousness disappeared.
