Painting in My Sleep

I think this is probably the strangest experience I've ever had in my life. I am a third-year student and live alone in a boarding house. I don't know if it's a talent or a mystic, which obviously I can suddenly paint when I'm asleep.

It's been a few weeks. Sometimes on certain nights I would draw something. The paintings that become generally very neat and detailed. I have no talent for painting. If asked to recreate the paintings, it would be impossible. The themes of painting also vary. One time, a painting about edelweiss fields, another time, a picture of a lake, then there about skyscrapers in urban Jakarta.

Maybe I should tell you guys first, originally from this story. This happened during the final exam of the semester, three weeks ago. I was alone in my study room for the exam tomorrow.

My position at that time was lying on the bed. At that time, the courses to be tested are related to mathematics. Therefore, I was busy writing the numbers in my doodling book. Learning-learning, do not feel the time has shown at 3 am. The eyes also feel heavy. But I was too lazy to put the books and pencils back on the study table. And that's how I fell asleep too…

The next day, I was shocked by the sound of an alarm from my phone. I hurried to close my phone and get out of bed. Exam at 10. It's 8 o'clock. I do not need to rush too much, because after all the location of my boarding house is relatively close to campus.

So with the rest I took a pencil and a book to put on the table. But I have not had time to pick up a book, my eyes immediately turned to the page of the book that was open.

Instead of the count numbers I wrote last night, I saw a sea painting. In the distance, a ship is seen. My heart was beating fast. I'm 100% sure my doodled book didn't have this painting before.

It means this painting was made last night. I hurried to check the door lock. Tightly locked. I checked the window. Nor were there any signs of ever being gouged or so on.

I looked around my room like a fool. I knew there was no way anyone else could get into this room. There's no one else. Last night I was alone in this room. How could there suddenly be a painting.

But I put that aside, because 10 o'clock is going to be an exam, so I rush to the bathroom.

That's the first painting.

I was a bit out of concentration on the test, thinking about the origin of the painting. But the problem is I still have 1 more test. So the next night while studying, I decided to sit at the study table. Don't fall on the bed. And before going to bed, I made sure not to put the notebook and pencil on the mattress again.

And indeed, the next morning there was no new painting. I take a calm breath. Maybe I am ngingau. May I have hidden my painting talent? inner myself. Ah never mind, it could be a joke of friends if I ask them.

Finally the exam is over. Along with the end of the exam, the campus also had two months off. For those who intend to take a short semester, they can continue to go to college. Most students are off. I was too lazy to go home. I decided to stay in the room during my college vacation. I think it's more relaxed at the boarding house, because I can play the game as much as possible…

But this is the continuation of the strangeness. At that time, I played a game and decided to go straight to sleep. The next day I found a pencil and my notebook was already in the bag. I hurriedly opened my book. And it turns…

There's another new painting.

This time a painting of the building. I caught this looks like a skyscraper on Jalan Thamrin, Central Jakarta. Why can I be so sure? Because in the painting the middle is a highway accompanied by tall buildings on the left right. Then in the distance, you can see the silhouette of the Welcome Monument. Two people raised their hands, as if greeting me…

I decided to tell my friend.

Now the boarding house is relatively quiet, because some of the children have gone home. But there are still Banu and Riko. They saw two paintings, but were a bit suspicious. But seeing my serious mimicry, they finally believed that this was an abnormal occurrence.

“Indeed, there can be no one to fad about sneaking into your room, trus painting anyway. If there is, very little work, people,” said Banu while closing his hand.

“Iya. I have been knocking all parts of the wall and floor for a few days to make sure there really is no secret door,”.

“Lo guess this hostel is what, until there is a secret door of everything,” chirped Riko.

“Maybe the only way to be sure, if you paint,” Banu said.

“What?” I think I already know what his idea is.

“We'll be watching you during your sleep. And record it if you suddenly start painting in sleep,” replied Banu.

“Agree!” tukas Riko spirit.

“But you guys really want to? I meani. I don't paint every night. And also, lest I be noticed, even will not paint.”.

“We won't know if we don't try. Already! Anyway starting tonight, we'll be hanging out in your room. I usually also ngalong ampe new dawn sleep. So if there is nothing, I can know,” replied Banu.

And that's how they've spent 2 days in my room. For two days there was nothing either. Riko was getting bored. If it is proven that I paint in sleep, then why?

But on the third day of the morning, when I woke up, I saw Riko and Banu still in my room.

“Tumben, usually if you have returned to your room in the morning.” chirp me while rubbing your eyes. My eyes were immediately fixed on the notebook that Riko was holding. I seemed to be wondering again last night…

“Watch this first, we will discuss later,” said Banu while poking his phone to me.

I pressed the play button. The sound of a fan was heard inside the speaker of the phone. That's the sound of my room fan. Inside the HP screen, Riko stood tensely staring at the camera. Banu is recording. In bed, I was asleep. But am I really asleep? Why is my position sitting cross-legged? I don't remember doing that….

“I didn't have time to record from the beginning. You suddenly get up from bed, to your writing desk take a book and pencil, then sit back in bed,” Banu story.

“Trus..” I want to ask, but directly cut Riko.

“You watch until you finish first, we just obrol.”

A few minutes later, the scene on camera made me break out in a cold sweat
