Chapter 20: Stop Breathing

Finna stiffened in place. He was so surprised to hear the whisper of Tone in his ears that his body shook so violently. Cold sweat began to pour on her beautiful face. His eyes became unfocused due to a sudden headache coming crashing down. 7 Years ago, it infiltrated his brain. The shadow of a woman begging for mercy began to dance in her eyes.

N-no, does Nada know anything? Inner Finna was agitated.

Looking at the knit of Finna's extremely frightened face made Nada smile happily and step away very gracefully. But Samuel, the man did not care about the pale Finn. The focus was only on Nada who had now stood before the Duke and Jasmine.

"You've seen, haven't you? Samuel is engaged to Finna. So, stop teasing my son!" jasmine ketus.

If others paid more attention, then they would clearly see that the middle-aged woman's eyes were glazed over. Jasmine was all her might not shed her tears in front of Tone. For him, it would be better if Nada did not know everything that happened in the past.

Slowly the handshake was unraveled until Jasmine did mas the Duke's arm which immediately wrapped his sturdy hand around his wife's waist. The two middle-aged looked blankly at Nada who had already stepped away.

"Darling, do I look like a cruel in-law like last night's movie?" asked Jasmine softly.

"Yes, honey. Congratulations, you'll soon win an Oscar" said the Duke, stroking Jasmine's black mane. The eyes of both of them continued to follow the footsteps of Nada who was walking towards Leo.

Nada decides to go to the back garden accompanied by Leo. His heart would not be strong anymore if it lingered in there. The couple walked leisurely with their hands clinging to each other. The smile of both also increasingly adorn the beauty of the sky at night.

The hundreds of stars up there, the beautiful flowers, the dim lights that adorn along the way they step is a tremendous happiness for Leo.

He has long dreamed of this. Walking with the woman he loved so much and holding her affectionately. Instantly Leo's memory returned a few days ago when Nada was willing to accept him.

Tone instantly speechless. Maybe if other men get questions like that, they'll answer, "Because I like you." Leo is a different man.

Leo who saw Nada was silent immediately took quick action. The man did not want his struggle all this time not to get any results.

The unfocused tone was shocked when Leo was already kneeling in front of his chair. The man boldly held the soft hand of Tone as if to convince the woman that he was the best.

"Can you accept me? If you can't love me yet, it doesn't matter. Enough I love you. I'm not going to demand anything from you, Nad," said Leo gently.

"Maybe I'm not a good guy because as you know, since we were in High School I've always been fighting. But I can be a good man for you ...."

"You just need to accept my love, the rest let me try and take care of you" he continued with teary eyes.

The tone felt increasingly tight. Somehow he is very difficult to accept because honestly, Nada's heart is not the same as it used to be against Leo.

Perhaps, what Nada felt was just a sense of awe and nothing more than that, but seeing Leo's sincerity made Nada could not bear to reject the good man.

"Hows it? You want to, right?" ask Leo a little forcefully.

"A-I can't .." said Nada lirih.

"Please, give me a chance. If in fact you still do not love me and are not happy with me, let's be friends again" said Leo gave an option.

Leo invites Nada to sit on the garden chair right under the lamp that illuminates the two. Manly, Leo put his black coat on Nada's shoulder because of the cold.

"Thank you, brother," said Nada smiling beautifully.

"Either. Are you back in the office tomorrow?"

"Yes, I've had enough rest for 3 days. I don't want to eat blind paychecks" said Nada, laughing until Leo laughed.

"Nad...."

Leo called out the name of Nada until the woman stared right at Leo's slightly teary eyes.

"Why, hem?"

The soft stroking tone of Leo's cheeks that loved the flickering hand caress. This is the most beautiful moment of Leo's lifetime because he can have Nada, the only woman who is able to make him palpitate.

"I love you so much."

Hearing the same sentence twice on the same night with two different men, isn't that like a fairy tale? But in fact, a tone can get it.

"Yes, I know."

The gaze of the two is getting closer and closer to the face of Leo who is silent to the face of Nada. Not because he was fascinated, but behind Leo was a man he knew brandishing a firearm.

Samuel, the man ran out of the room. His heart seemed to know that his soul mate was in need of him.

"No!!" leo shouted again by pressing the wound Tone.

He couldn't leave Nada alone there to seek help. The wound must remain on the press so as not to get more blood coming out, while the man who shot had gone out of nowhere. Leo didn't have time to go after that jerk because Nada's condition was really terrible.

"By!! Samuel!!" leo shouted very loudly hoping that Samuel would listen to his cry.

Leo cursed annoyed because his cellphone was left on the car bashboard.

"Damn! Damnit damnit! Shit!"

The man had no other choice but to gallop towards the parking lot carrying Nada's body, but before the action happened, Samuel directly broke through to the other side with a body trembling violently.

Tone, the woman was already lying helpless. With legs that could not support strong, Samuel carried the weak body followed by Leo who blamed himself. They ran straight to Samuel's car and drove very fast to the nearest hospital.

In the back seat, Nada looked at the face of Samuel who was seen crying. The woman's head was on Samuel's thigh, which still pressed against the wound on his chest.

"You need to stay conscious. Don't close your eyes!!"

Samuel snapped at the visible tone starting to close his beautiful eyes. The body was so cold that it frightened Samuel even more.

"Sorry I didn't take care of you, huh? Y-you gotta hold on. Leo is faster!!!" samuel shouted crazily at Leo who was speeding up the steel thing.

"Vi-vio ... Lu-kas .." said Tone softly with breath getting weaker until the hand of Tone that had been in Samuel's chest suddenly decayed like boneless with eyes that had been tightly closed.

The woman had stopped breathing.
