Thirteen

This morning Lea was alone in her room. This morning, Lea kicked Fian and Zepha out of work. Since both of them had a little stubbornness, Lea was overwhelmed. But with a slight threat Lea finally managed to make the two stubborn humans leave.

As Lea was staring out the window, suddenly the door opened revealing a doctor with a nurse following her from behind.

"Good morning Lea, meet me Doctor Rizal. I'll handle the leukemia you're suffering from. Fahri and I will be partners in dealing with you. So chances are you will always meet me" explained doctor Rizal who was in tandem with jokes to comfort Lea.

"I want to know the whole Doc" said Lea ignoring the words of doctor Rizal who introduced himself.

Doctor Rizal sighed while looking at Lea softly. Previously he had never been this sad in dealing with his patients. Doctor Rizal has been told by doctor Fahri how Lea's life journey. Even Fahri's doctor remembers him to always be careful in talking to Lea.

"Leukemia or more precisely leukemia is a blood cancer due to the body producing too many abnormal white blood cells. You have chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is a type of blood cancer that occurs due to abnormalities in the bone marrow. The term ‘kronis’ in lymphocytic leukemia signifies that the disease develops slowly over the long term. And based on the results of lab tests that I did this disease has entered an advanced stage" explained Dr. Rizal with a voice. Even so, actually, Dr. Rizal was very, very stuck when explaining all that.

"How much is the percentage for my recovery?" Lea asked with her eyes staring blankly out the window.

"I will try to heal you. A spinal cord transplant will help you heal. So I'll...." Said Dr. Rizal who did not want to tell Lea about the percentage of his recovery. But the speech was immediately cut off by Lea.

"How much?" Lea asked coldly. Lea dislikes it the most if others hide about her condition. For him the person who has the most right to know about himself is himself.

"26% is an estimate from me and doctor Fahri. Your condition is quite rare Lea. You can still survive for the next six months if your condition remains stable" replied Dr. Rizal finally.

Lea heard it well. Lea knew that Rizal's doctor was actually diagnosing his age. Lea is not afraid of death but Lea just wants her dream to be achieved before she dies. Even if only in his last moments.

"Don't divulge about the rest of my life to anyone including my family though. And don't tell anyone about the damn disease that's lodged in my body" Lea said coldly, even as if there was no rebuttal to her words.

Doctor Rizal just let out a heavy sigh. However, the patient's wishes are a top priority in hospital regulations. Lea is a strong woman at a very young age.

When doctor Rizal wanted to step away suddenly the door of Lea's room opened and showed Aldi's face. Lea was surprised instead of playing, she was afraid if Aldi heard all his talk with doctor Rizal. Doctor Rizal comes out of Lea's room when he sees a foreign man who seems to have a personal affair with Lea. And the nurse who had been following Rizal's doctor had indeed gone out when Lea asked Rizal's doctor to explain the whole situation.

"Papa.." muttered Lea when Rizal's doctor had already disappeared behind the door.

"Lea, what are you sick with?" Ask Aldi gently.

"Oh that, Cepet healed yes dear" said Aldi who just believed what Lea said.

Aldi kissed Lea's forehead fondly. Lea who felt Aldi did not have time to hear his conversation with doctor Rizal finally could breathe a sigh of relief. Lea just wants Aldi to realize that Lea needs it without having to know in advance about the disease. Lea just didn't want Aldi to notice her just out of pity.

"How else is he not busy?" Ask Lea who slightly insinuated Aldi.

"Papa is actually busy just for the sake of looking at Papa's child, Papa left Papa's job for a while" Aldi replied while chuckling. Aldi knew Lea was actually insinuating him but Aldi did not take heart with it all.

"Yes Leah knows. Mama know if Papa comes here and Lea?" Ask Lea again. Because he knew that Aldi could not possibly see Leah if his wife knew about it.

"Lea, Papa will continue to persuade Mama to accept you. Don't you think about Mama" said Aldi who was lazy to discuss about it because he knew eventually he and Lea would just fight.

"How much longer will Pa? 22-year-old Papa still can not persuade Mama. What's Wrong with Lea? Why does Leah have to be punished by always hearing hatred from everyone?" Ask Lea streak.

Leah was tired of all her life. His wish was only to earn all the affection from everyone sincerely. Lea did not know what was wrong, even she never asked to be presented in this way. If Lea was able to choose her destiny Lea would definitely choose a good destiny.

"Lea, Papa tried. But for the sake of the integrity of Papa's marriage, Papa must accept the conditions of Mama not to see you. You have to understand dear" said Aldi trying to give understanding to Lea.

Lea could no longer hold back her tears. It hurts when her biological father sacrifices himself just to maintain his marriage. Indeed, the marriage of his father is important to maintain but whether it should be if Lea is sacrificed.

"LEA SHOULD KNOW PAPA HOW ELSE? LEA ALWAYS KNEW WHEN PAPA ASKED LEA TO WAIT PATIENTLY FOR PAPA. HOW DIFFICULT IT IS FOR PAPA TO PERSUADE MAMA. LEA ALSO NEEDS PAPA, LEA WANTS PAPA NEXT TO LEA. WHAT'S WRONG LEA? LEA NEVER WANTED A RICH DESTINY GINI PA. TRY OCCASIONALLY PAPA AS LEA, HOW TORTURED LEA WHEN BEGGING PAPA'S ATTENTION. HOW DO YOU THINK LEA SHOULD KNOW AGAIN PA?" Shouted Lea who had already reached her emotional limit.

"But there's Brother Lea. My brother gave love to Lea. There is also Anton's father who is always there for Lea" said Aldi softly. Aldi knows that Lea's emotions are still unstable because Lea is sick.

"WHOM LEA NEEDS IT IS PAPA. PAPA THE ONE LEA NEEDS IS NO ONE ELSE. I'M NOT LEA PA'S REAL FATHER. WHAT IS THE DIFFICULTY OF PAH, JUST ASK WHAT HAS LEAH EATEN? LEA AGAIN WHAT? LEA KANGEN PAPA OR NOT? WHAT IS THE DIFFICULTY PA? LEA WANTS PAPA. Lea needs papa Pa. Lea was now afraid, afraid of not being able to feel the embrace of Papa. Lea was afraid she could no longer see Papa. Lea's afraid of Pa, Lea's scared without Papa. Lea mau Papa" said Lea who is getting weaker. Lea was no longer strong enough to scream with her heart broken into pieces.
