Chapter 67. How Vano seeks attention

Winda found a painting belonging to Vano. A simple painting, which can be painted by a child of the age of Vano to reveal his heart.

A painting, which depicts a papi and mami who are turning their backs on Vano who is sticking out his hands. As if expecting mommy and papi to look at him.

"Do you understand the meaning of Vano's painting?"

The voice of the father surprised them both.

"Dad told you guys before. No one forbids you from being sad and looking for Vani. But remember, there are other children who need you too. There is still a baby in your womb, which requires a comfortable atmosphere and condition."

"Mrs, Dimas. You forgot Vano. Vano needs attention too. But you are busy with your own business. Appreciate what is left so you don't lose it all. Including Vano and Baby in your womb. They are also your children who are equally valuable" added the mother.

Winda and Dimas looked at each other and began to understand. The meaning of Vano's painting was a protest aimed at them. Winda looked at the painting once more carefully.

His heart was getting full and trembling. There is pain, knowing Vano feels lonely despite being between his parents.

When the atmosphere was tense, a closet door was opened. All eyes stared at the closet whose door was moving.

After the door opened wide, Winda shouted hysterically.

"Vano..."

Winda ran up to Vano who was confused to see her mama yelling to call her name. Winda hugged Vano tightly. His sobbing sound sounded quite loud.

Dimas and his two in-laws breathed a sigh of relief, seeing Vano was fine. They approached Vano and Winda who were still reluctant to let go of his embrace.

"She, pity Vano. Let him out first" said the mother.

"Darling, Vano definitely needs some fresh air. In the closet, the air must be very stuffy. Isn't that right, Vano dear?" ask Dimas.

Vano nodded slowly which finally made Winda let go of his embrace. Dimas immediately lifted Vano's body and sat on the mattress.

"Kangen, cake. When did my grandparents come? Stay here with Vano, right?" ask Vano pleased.

"Why? Vano is there already mami papi, less what else?"

"They..."

Vano stared at the faces of her mom and papi alternately. Vano could not continue his words so as to make their conjecture right, about Vano being lonely in the middle of his own family.

"Vano, why did you hide in the closet? Don't you know, how much we're afraid you're missing?" ask Dimas.

"So Vano was just sad and wanted to cry. So Vano is hiding in the closet. Ever since Vani went missing, Vano has been living alone. Mami and Papi never paid any attention to Vano."

Vano's words were like a hard slap in the hearts of Dimas and Vinda. They never realized that Vano was enough to be able to feel the indifference of his parents.

"Vano, mami promise, mami will always be with Vano. We're gonna do a lot of things together. Looking for Vani too, Vano will be invited," said Winda while sitting next to Vano and rubbing his hair.

From that day on, Winda never again ignored Vano. He has already lost Vani, and he does not want to lose Vano as well because of his selfishness.

Wherever Winda goes, Vano will always be there and be his encouragement when his heart begins to be fragile. Winda began to feel the possibility of finding traces of Vani, very small. Even so, Winda and Dimas never gave up on looking for Vani.

They make flyers and advertisements in the newspaper to make it easier to find Vani. Their hopes never dashed although Maya until now still does not show any signs of being aware of the coma.

Winda has great respect for Deni's father, who has been willing to finance Maya's treatment costs. Initially, Maya and Dimas had agreed for Vani's sake, would finance Mala's treatment until Maya regained consciousness from her coma.
