The Chapter 7
My mother-in-law always gave me a negligee every day, so I looked more like a maid than a wife from Rega.
If Rega was at home, he told me to wear a long robe until my whole body was covered, that was his attempt not to be suspected by Rega and Papa Refan.
Rega who had just walked into the house, looked at me with a strange look, was it because I was wearing clothes of profanity?
Maybe this morning my mother-in-law didn't know Rega was coming home from work out of town. So he didn't tell me to change clothes immediately.
"Women are pregnant, Ga. So Mama gave her loose-fitting clothes to make her comfortable, " said Mama Sinta who noticed Rega's strange look at me.
Very clever he put the word together..
"Well, right, honey? You're comfortable, aren't you in a kayak gini outfit? " Mama Siska winked, coded me to say yes.
I lowered my head, grimaced to feel the squeeze of his hand on my back and was forced to nod.
"Whatever, I don't care either, " muttered Rega who was still caught by my sense of hearing.
Mama Siska tilted her head, her cynical smile back she showed after Rega passed from before us.
"You heard Rega say what? He no longer cares about you. Congratulations, "mama Siska whispered. He couldn't be rude or harsh with me when Rega was home.
Although Rega is currently ignoring me, but my mother-in-law continues to pretend to be a kind-hearted in-law in front of her stepson.
As for Rega, he was indifferent and seemed to care no more for me. He didn't ask me to leave his room or decide to sleep apart, but he always turned his back on me and never touched me.
"Mas Rega's.. Look at me, greet me as before, "my mind longs for his attention again.
"Don't behave like this, Mas. I'm sad, I'm devastated if you don't care about me anymore, "my tears have come back.
Every day, every moment and every time, like there would be no life if I didn't shed another tear.
Care for me no, let alone say hello to the baby in my womb, which he believes is the son of another man.
This morning, Papa Refan called me into the backyard. He smiled to see me. I also had to pretend to smile on my heart.
"Dear you, you're pregnant, son. Congratulations yes.. Papa has a gift for you, "Papa Refan thrusts a box in front of me.
"Thank you, Pa. But Papa doesn't have to bother, "reply me, there's at least one person who cares about me in this house. Papa Refan, my father-in-law.
"Is everything ready, Robin? " ask Papa Refan to Robin who suddenly stood behind me.
"Since when did he stand there, "my mind.
"Already, sir, " replied Robin as usual, short, solid and clear.
"Come, son, "Papa Refan took me somewhere to go.
He said that he had asked Rega for permission, and Rega allowed it, provided that there must be Robin and a maid accompanying us.
Maybe Rega didn't say anything to Papa Refan, and it relieved me. Because whatever he hates about me, he still keeps his papa's feelings.
He did not want to burden Papa Refan who was sick, it was also as my mind. Do not let our household problems to be heard in the ears of others, let alone Papa Refan who is sickly.
"Where are we going, Pa? " anyaku who feel happy because it could be a moment apart from the shackles of Mama Siska's bastard.
"Later you'll know, son, " Papa Refan's shady smile rubs on me.
Along the way we talked about this and that, it also made me happy to see Papa Refan who could smile happily even though he had to always sit in a wheelchair.
"Papa hopes, Papa can still recover. In order for Papa to hold Papa's grandson later, and play with him, "the twinkle of Papa Refan's eyes radiates great hope.
Do you also have to have great expectations like my Father-in-law? To continue the spirit of living life even though it is full of torment.
I can't imagine how devastated Papa Refan would feel if I knew I had intended to end my life and his future granddaughter who was still in my womb.
Robin's car stopped in front of a large and well-known hospital.
"Why are we going to the hospital, Pa? Papa's sick? " i was suddenly worried about Papa Refan.
"No, Son, "
"Why are we going to the hospital? "
"Come down, "take her without answering my question.
I said, without asking again.
I pushed Papa Refan's wheelchair after Robin helped my father-in-law sit on it. Robin walked in front, while behind me was a maid who followed us with our luggage.
I frowned seeing Robin enter the obstetrician's room without waiting in line.
"Good day, with Mr Rega? " greet a young doctor who greets Robin.
"No, I'm Robin's assistant to Mr. Rega who made an appointment with the obstetrician here, "
Deg
"Rega made an appointment to see the obstetrician? Is that true? " my mind wonders in disbelief.
"Oh, well, Mr. Robin. Please sit down, Sir, "
"Madam, please come with me, "the doctor took me to the usual cage to check on his patients.
"May I see my grandson, Doctor? "
The doctor turned to me, and gave a code as if asking me if I would allow it or not.
I smiled and confirmed it. Although Rega as his father does not care, but there is still Papa Refan as his grandfather who loves him. My heart warms up.
I saw my father-in-law's eyes glazed over at the screen of the monitor which showed me a detail that the doctor told me if it was my baby.
"Very small, " I murmured.
"Yes, because he was a kid. The size will enlarge according to your gestational age, Madam, "I nod in understanding.
After returning from the examination of content, Papa Refan continued to look at USG photos that I think are not clear what the picture is. But my father-in-law didn't seem bored to keep looking at it.
"I need to heal, I need to be healthy. I should be able to play with my grandson." muttered Papa Refan who looked very excited.
I felt guilty for knowing the cause of his paralysis but couldn't do anything about it. And I also have not been able to release it from the nerve agent that Mama Siska always gives me every time.
I feel like I really want to reveal to her, if Mama Siska is the cause of her becoming what she is today, but I don't have any proof. So I could be accused of slandering my mother-in-law. Especially if considering how unfortunately Rega was to his stepmother, it could be that I was even accused of defaming my mother-in-law's good name.
Just now that I came out of Papa Refan's room, my right hand was already drawn by Mama Siska. I was taken to the barn and threw down the wall hard.
"Sick, madam." I held my back head that had just hit the wall.
He doesn't care about my ringing, both of my cheeks are in his grip.
"Have you the same as Refan? Ha's? Surely you are talking macem-macem is the same old man? "
"No, Madam. I didn't say anything to Papa Refan, "I replied with difficulty because my jaw was firmly pressed.
"God! I don't want to tell you. Just be careful if until my secret you unravel the same Refan, especially if Robin and Rega find out, I will not hesitate to torture you more cruelly than this. Understood it! "
His impact by throwing my face rough to get, and like his neck sprained because it feels very painful.
"My neck hurts, "my murmur felt my neck could not move.
"Sukurin! Let it be broken, "he said as he passed.
