Kay woke up along with a thunderous thunderclap. He gasps the lights, sweat running down the temples from between his hair. The lights are not on, the AC is not on. Ah, the power's off. It's worth it he's sweating like this.
His heart was still beating fast, he was a little confused in the middle of the darkness, was he awakened due to the sound of lightning or because of his dreams? Just now Kay had the same dream again within a week, a recurring dream.
Dream about two swans and a lake of blood. Kay took a cell phone, tried to contact her boyfriend Blake. But looking at the clock on the table clock he undoes the intention, it is morning enough, and he is sure soon the sun will show its light, right behind the gray clouds that drop the specks of water out there.
10 Minutes later, then,
Kay got out of bed and opened the window curtain of the seventh-floor apartment, then walked to the kitchen to drink cold milk while checking the phone, there are 2 messages....
"Make sure you pick up your sister at 10:30, love u honey." (Mom)
"Today's the holiday shop." (Aaron Boss)
Oh, gooddo. Luckily, he didn't have to hurry today.
Kaylee Mirror threw herself in the bed again, then she dialed the number and called Blake, saying she didn't have to pick him up to the store because it was a holiday, and he'll take a taxi to pick up Emilee. From across the phone Blake insists on accompanying her but Kay refuses, as she needs time alone with her sister.
"I should dream again, baby. The same thing." said Kay rather gloomily, "Do you think there's any meaning?"
"Jeez Kay. Be honest, is there anything you might think of?" Blake sounded worried.
"Okay, I'm not sure. But this scares me. The dream is clear and keeps repeating every night."
"You don't have to live alone in that old apartment baby. We can stay together. I just need to clean up a little bit of the kitchen and backyard."
"Oh, we've already discussed it. I'll hang in here until I find someone for Emi." Kay stubbornly said.
"You don't have to be a matchmaker, he's an adult, he'll find his own man. You can't always be responsible for her, baby."
"Hmm, I know. It's just...."
"Don't take this too much as a burden and relax a little. We'll watch tonight, okay?"
"OKAY. I'll call you back later. I have to take a shower."
"alright. Bye Kay dear."
"Bye."
tut....
*****
At 10:00 Kaylee Mirror had taken a taxi to the rehabilitation center. Kay opened the car window and let the wind blow her blonde hair that was allowed to unravel. In 20 minutes that was not too jammed Kay had reached the two-story building. After paying for the taxi he immediately went into the lobby and asked the officer about his sister who was going out today.
"Nn. Emilee Mirror 21st. Room 213 will be out at 10:40, please fill out the form and wait there!" an officer's orders pointed to a bench at the end of the room.
"Thank you." Kaylee inching backwards.
The woman behind the table kept busying herself with computers and piles of paper. Sometimes he frowned and sometimes flat-faced.
The officer noticed Kay watching him in the waiting chair, Kay immediately lowered her head, stood up and handed the form to the officer. He sat in the waiting chair again with several other people who seemed to also be waiting for his family to come out of this building.
At exactly 10:40 another female officer took her sister out. A girl similar to Kay, just a little shabby and skinny, but the rest was no different from Kay. His height, his skin, his hair.
The female officer handed Emi over to Kay, and then left without saying a word. Kay snorted with the behavior of the officers, she could not imagine how the officers treated her sister while she was here. He felt guilty and sorry.
"Emi..." Kay hugged him, "it's good to see you again" he said, trying to be cheerful.
"Well.samely." Emi's voice sounded weak.
"You hungry? Let's eat!" Kay took Emi's hand to the door.
"...." - ".Emilee smiled faintly behind her sister.
They both left the rehabilitation center and headed to a fast food restaurant not too far away.
*****
Kay and Emi stop at the Steak and Burger Resto. They chose to sit by the window. Kay ordered Emi two servings of steak as she watched her sister greedily spend the first portion. The two did not talk to each other during the meal. All that was heard was a vague cloth visitor conversation.
Knives and forks clink at every corner of the restaurant. While chewing on the last piece Emi looked at Kay with a strange, disappointed, happy, and demanding look of curiosity.
"How are mom and dad?" emi asked without looking at her interlocutor, occasionally her eyes looking out the window.
"They're fine..." Kay put down her knife and looked towards Emi, "then what about you? How are you doing?"
"I? You can see how I am. I'm fine." Emi giggles.
"Mom was very worried...." Kay conveyed what their mother felt.
Emilee smiled cynically then. Looking deeply into Kaylee's eyes.
"The one who worries about me is the same person who put me in that cursed place." he said grimly.
"It's for your own good. You know that, right?" Kay tried to explain it patiently.
"OKan huh? Ouch, what a funny oath." scorned Emi.
"If you don't stop, it'll put your life at risk." This time Kay sounded more serious.
"Here you go, please don't talk about it anymore. I want a break." Emi put down the fork and finished her drink.
Kaylee paid the bill and the two of them continued on their way to Kaylee's apartment. Emilee Mirror has been in rehab for 2.5 years because of the use of narcotics, certainly not an easy thing to take it for granted even though it is part of the risk. And Kay thinks Emi still feels unacceptable for the decisions of her parents in the past.
Kay and Emi intercept a taxi, sliding towards the Arthuri Apartment, the cheapest apartment in the city. It only costs one tenth of the rent elsewhere. The condition of the building is still sturdy even though it needs improvement at some point. Some paint looks moldy and peeling. But in it there are some rooms that are quite luxurious for most people.
