Testimony

   Wijaya regained consciousness from his momentary daydream, he smiled looking at the face of Gatot who was standing before him.

"I'm sorry I don't remember you, it's been a while too, and I forgot that we met before." Wijaya tried to be calm.

"It's okay sir. I purposely said that so that you can remember when we met first, thank God you now remember me." Gatot.

"Oh, sure, I remember, you were a young police officer who was so excited to be able to solve a case, right?" Ujara Wijaya's.

"Yes sir." Gatot smiles.

"It's only natural that Gatot has a higher rank now ." Wijaya gave a compliment.

Gatot smiled, she pretended to be low, she knew Wijaya was just trying to melt the atmosphere.

He knows, Wijaya tried to cover up his shock because he had opened the incident 18 years ago.

Teguh who finished checking the location of the incident and looking for evidence of the incident ran over to Gatot. Seeing the arrival of Teguh, Gatot looked at Wijaya.

"It's all done ?" Ask Gatot.

"It's sir." Answer Firmly.

"Then, we'll excuse you sir." Gatot said to Wijaya.

"Oh, please." Wijaya said welcoming Gatot's hand, they shook hands.

Gatot turned around, she walked away from Wijaya, Linda, Project Leader and Gavlin.

Firmly following Gatot, Gatot glanced at Gavlin who stood bowed, glancing at Gatot's eyes sharply at Gavlin.

Gavlin sees Gatot and Teguh walking away leaving those who still remain on the project site.

   That night, Gatot looked seriously open and read the visa report he got from the Forensics section. He read the report file.

"That means my guess is right, the house in Rawas village was deliberately burned, the liquid I found was really pure gasoline." He speaks for himself.

Gatot looks to be thinking, re-observing the photo of the great fire of Rawas village, researching photo photos of victims.

Gatot read one by one the file reports about victims of murder. 

Based on the results of the visit from the Forensic Doctor, there was a similarity of incision wounds on the neck of each victim.

They were all killed in sadistic ways before being found at various crime scenes.

"Who is the perpetrator of the murder of the citizens of Rawas village ?!" He murmured while writing down the sentence who the perpetrator of the murder was.

Gatot was stunned for a moment, then she gasped and regained her senses, she recalled something, something that Sumantri said when she met him.

We go back to the time of the meeting between Sumantri and Gatot in a restaurant.

At the table of the quiet simple restaurant, Sumantri sat before Gatot, her face tense, she stared fixedly at Gatot's face.

"There's something I want to tell you." Sumantri.

"About what ?" Ask Gatot.

"Events 18 years ago." Said Sumantri staring at the face of Gatot who frowned, she was astonished what Sumantri meant to say that.

"Do you know about that?" Ask Gatot.

"Yes, since I was at the scene back then, I know everything." Sumantri confessed.

"I know who the real culprit is, and who slandered Sanusi for being the killer and rapist of the songwriter girl." Sumantri.

There was guilt from his facial water, hearing that Gatot was looking at him sharply, he was shocked.

Gatot did not expect if all this time it turns out Sumantri was a key witness to the murder of the song guide girl 18 years ago.

"Why did you just show up and uncover everything that's been your secret all along?" Tanya Gatot stared intently at Sumantri's face.

"Because of my guilt, my life has always been haunted by the shadow of the past." Sumantri.

"I can't forget the slightest bit of murder I saw with my own eyes." Sumantri said in tears filled with regret.

"Who is the real culprit, and why are you giving false testimony that Sanusi did it ?" Gatot said loudly.

Gatot was angry at his best friend, because he felt he had been lied to for years by Sumantri. 

"Why then, when I asked you when you testified as a witness, did you mention Sanusi as the culprit? Jerk Gatot.

"You assured me back then, that you saw Sanusi raping and killing the song-guiding girl !" Gatot.

Gatot snapped at Sumantri again, Sumantri bowed silently before the enraged Gatot.

"I'm sorry Bastian, I had to do that." Sumantri.

"My parents and I are threatened, if I don't bear the same testimony they told me to, my parents and I are killed by them." Sumantri.

"Who are they ?!" Snapped Gatot with wide wide wide-eyed gazing furiously at Sumantri.

The employees of the restaurant were shocked to hear Gatot's loud voice, but the temple did not see, busying itself with cleaning the dishes.

While in the restaurant there is only Gatot and Sumantri. There are no other visitors.

"The real accuser is Jafar, Bramantio's sister, who had the idea to slander Sanusi is Vijaya." Sumantri said revealing the real culprit.

Gatot was shocked.

"It means that my suspicions were right, because I had no evidence, plus your testimony, I failed to subdue Jafar and Bramantio first." Gatot said.

"Actually, if Wijaya had not given Jafar a crazy idea, Sanusi would not have been slandered as a murderer and a rapist."

"If Sanusi wasn't in the location and left the victim's body, of course he's fine, not a suspect." Sumantri.

Sumantri cried with remorse, remembering those past events.

"Because of your savagery Sanusi bore all your foul deeds !" Jerk Gatot.

"Do you know Tri ? Sanusi commits suicide in prison for not being able to accept the reality of his life ?!Do you know ?!" Snapped Gatot again.

Gatot stared intently at Sumantri's bowed face crying regretting her actions.

"Bless your head Tri, look at me !" Gatot snapped, Sumantri sighed in tears raising her head and looking at Gatot.

"Do you know the suffering of Sanusi's son ?!" Jerk Gatot.

"He tormented his life because of you, the son of Sanusi not only lost his parents, but he also lost his home and his happiness !!" Gatot.

Gatot shouted full of anger with a loud voice in front of Sumantri's face.

"Sanusi's son who was the reason I ventured to meet you and confess all my deeds." Sumantri.

"My goal is for you to know the real culprit." Sumantri told Gatot.

"Sanusi's son ?" Ask Gatot.

"Yes, Son of Sanusi, Yanto has returned to this city of Bus." Sumantri.

"He came to me, threatened me, forced me to tell him about the man who slandered his father." Sumantri.

Gatot was shocked, she was softly staring at the face of Sumantri who was downcast.

"Yanto, Son of Sanusi ? Do you know who and where she is ?" Ask Gatot again to Sumantri.

"I don't know where she is, and I can't see her face either, she's wearing a mask that covers her entire face and head." Sumantri.

Gatot then took a breath, he looked like he was thinking hard, there was a curiosity in his heart to the person who met Sumantri.

"How was Yanto when you saw him ?" Ask Gatot to know.

"His stature was tall, slightly taller than you, about 180 cm, his body was muscularly stocky, his voice heavy with gnashings sounded." Sumantri.

Gatot tried to remember recalling what Sumantri had just said to him.

"There's another secret you need to know Bastian's truth." Sumantri lirih.

Gatot stared silently at Sumantri's face.

"About what ?" Gatot asked.

"The death of Jafar's secretary, who turned out far after the incident was known, was his wife Sanusi the victim of Vijaya slander." Sumantri.

What Sumantri had revealed made Gatot even more shocked.

Gatot then stared intently at Sumantri withholding her wrath.

However Gatot finally lowered his hand, and undoed his intention to hit Sumantri.

"Tell me everything that happened." Said Gatot staring intently at Sumantri who sighed.

"At the time of the incident, Jafar had a storm with his affair." Sumantri started the story.

"When Jafar killed his mistress, Irmida, Jafar's secretary, Sanusi's wife went into the room, she saw Jafar's actions." Sumantri.

"Jafar called me to get rid of Savitri's corpse, the girl he cheated on." Sumantri.

"Jafar also told me to kill Irmida, because he had seen Jafar kill Savitri." Sumantri.

Gatot heard it staring intently at Sumantri's face. He's getting mad.

"You killed him ?!" Gatot snapped at Sumantri.

"Jafar who killed Irmida in front of me, I watched with my eyes straight on." Sumantri.

"Jafar calmly and cold-faced slaughtered Irmida's neck." Sumantri.

Sumantri closed her eyes, unable to bear to remember the events of Irmida's death just yet.

Sumantri sighed, continuing her story.

"After Irmida's death, I was forced by Jafar to hold the knife he was wearing to kill Irmida, so that my finger cider would be on the knife." Sumantri.

"Then Jafar told me to remove the bodies of the two women he killed." Sumantri said in tears, she felt guilty.

"When I wanted to dispose of the corpse, Bramantio came and learned of all his sister's deeds." Sumantri said again.

"Because of wanting to save his sister, Bramantio covered up all of that."

"Bramantio then silenced important officials, prosecutors and police officials." Sumantri uncovers Bramantio's crime secrets.

"Bramantio bribed them, to establish Sanusi as the sole suspect of murder." Sumantri.

Gatot was very furious to hear Sumantri's story, he did not expect how hearted the demon Bramantio and his sister also Wijaya.

"Bramantio also paid the people of Rawas village for the crowd to expel Sanusi and his children." Sumantri.

"He told me to burn down Sanusi's house." Said Sumantri staring at the face of Gatot who was stunned to hear it.

"So everybody, because of the Bramantio family ?!" Said Gatot cynically.

Gatot was unaware and just understood everything, he just found the bright spot of a case that was abandoned for 18 years.

Because he was unable to uncover the real culprit, because he was blocked during the investigation.

He has always faced opposition from his leader Sutoyo, now the supreme police chief.

Sumantri took a breath, she smiled looking at the face of Gatot who seemed to be thinking.

"I'm relieved now that I've uncovered all the secrets I've kept for 18 years." Said Sumantri with a resigned face.

"I am now very calm waiting for Yanto's vengeance, Sanusi's son who will come to kill me." Said Sumantri, Gatot stared intently at Sumantri.

"Your testimony must be made official, so I can process it." Gatot to Sumantri.

"I'm ready to be processed at any time." Sumantri smiled.

"You came with me to the office to make a statement on your testimony all that before." Gatot looked at Sumantri's face.

"I'm ready." Sumantri smiled.

Sumantri was more calm and relieved, because she had released the burden that was in her.

The burden of guilt and sin that he has been carrying for 18 years.

"You should be able to catch and prove that the real culprits are Bramantio, Jafar and Wijaya." Sumantri looked at Gatot.

"Yes, I'm going to have a re-investigation of the case 18 years ago!" Gatot.

"I also had to find out Yanto's current whereabouts, so that I could prevent him from acting recklessly on Bramantio." Said Gatot again.

"I'm sure, Yanto must have appeared and hunted down Bramantio cs to take revenge on them." Said Gatot, Sumantri nodded.

Gatot took his breath, his eyes sweeping across the room in his house, stunned for a moment and thinking hard.

Crossing his mind, as he glanced at the face of Gavlin who was standing still at the project site, he saw Gavlin startled and grinned holding back in fury.

Gatot also saw, when Gavlin saw the reaction and attitude of Wijaya who was also shocked when he told the incident 18 years ago.

"Who exactly are you Gavlin ?!" Gatot said to himself, he thought.

"I'm a former personal chauffeur who got fired." The words of Maya who arrived appeared in front of Gatot who was shocked not aware of the arrival of his son.

"You are, make me surprised Father, come come directly to talk about it." Said Gatot stroked his chest in shock with the appearance of Maya who arrived.

"Party said to myself I observed, where to call Gavlin's name again, Gavlin's father miss the same Gavlin ?" Maya said.

"Oh yes May, Gavlin already has a girlfriend huh ?" Gatot asked, Maya was shocked to look at her father's face.

"Why is Nanyain's father ?" Ask Maya.
