Chapter 26. Seven Years Ago (Zack)

Zack walked towards the private room in his hotel. Mr. Alan who had taken him immediately to the airport to pick up Amber. Exactly ten minutes before he arrived at his private hotel, Mr. Alan's cell phone rang. Amber called to get picked up.

After arriving at his room, he immediately took off all his clothes. The best place for him right now is the bath tub. He needs to cool down his whole body, maybe even his mind and heart.

Zack tried to explore the problems he faced. He lay in the bath tub with his eyes closed. One by one the shadows of the past began to re-enter his memory.

The past that first came to her mind was the last day she met Lily. A painful breakup for him. Without saying goodbye and badly without giving any warning to Lily that she was leaving.

It should be their date day. At that time they were like a young couple in general. Celebrating Valentine which is a celebration of the day of love for a million young couples worldwide. Zack was an adult at the time. His age of twenty-seven years can still follow the trend of young people dating.

This is the third time they have celebrated Valentine. They had promised to meet at a regular restaurant at eight p.m.

Lily was still living with her father's uncle and aunt. They are very strict especially in a romantic relationship. He never let Zack pick him up at home. They always meet at the place promised before.

Restaurant visitors are starting to decline. The live music singer has finished performing his last song. Lily got up from her chair. He put his feet up with a sling. Zack wants to put Lily in his arms, but she breaks it. Someone from the next building was watching his movements.

After seeing Lily had climbed up earlier online. Zack left the restaurant immediately. He soon proceeds with his plan of leaving town and Lily.

A month had passed from the events of that night. Once everything is under control, Zack tries to call Lily back. Of course it won't work at the beginning. She tries to convince Lily that she honestly doesn't want to leave him. He also told me that he was there at the time. He was too cowardly to show himself in front of Lily. Though with reason to protect Lily from her father's men.

He also explains to Lily that he is trying to break away from his father's mafia lineage. He did not want to continue his father's rule.

Lily was finally sure of herself. He wants to try to connect remotely. Zack calls Lily every day. Every night they will video call so that the long distance relationship they live does not feel has been running for almost five years.

In the past five years, Zack has always looked for opportunities to return to Indonesia to meet Lily or vice versa. I asked Lily to visit him. All of that cannot happen. A man knocked on the window of his car.

The man who was in the car just snorted. He told Zack to open the car door and follow them.

"Listen to me! I have some cash on my pocket. You can take all and the car,"(listen to me! I have money in my wallet. You can take all of them and the car) Zack is trying to negotiate with them.

"Unfortunately this is not a robbery, young man,"(unfortunately this is not a robbery of young people) explained the man who knocked on the window.

Zack was not afraid of them at all. He was trying to study the situation at the moment. He was trying to find a gap in order to escape.

The man who put the gun to his head was now walking slowly forward. His face was against Zack. Zack did not recognize them because their faces were covered by masks. The man continued to walk backwards while pointing a gun.

Zack won't stay quiet. He slowly took a step back.

"Stop! don't move!" (stop! don'tmove!) threaten the man.

"One more step, and I will shoot you," (one more step, and I'll shoot you) threatened the man holding the gun.

Instead of being afraid, Zack accelerated his footsteps. The man immediately opened his shot.
