Galendra Oktora entered the hospital building with a carefree whistle. Some of the people who passed by him also threw bright smiles as if Galendra's happiness this morning was contagious to everyone.
"Morning, Doc." A nurse that Gale didn't know her name, greeted.
Galendra glanced at his flirtatious eyes. "Good morning, Baby."
The nurse chuckled and then passed.
For those who do not know Gale well, will surely cluck up to see his behavior that likes to spread charm. But not here, the entire hospital considers the flirtatious attitude that many people hate is a form of suave and familiarity Galendra. So here you won't find a bad girl who gets carried away by the man's treatment.
Galendra fixates both elbows on the IGD information table. He turned his head to look at the two nurses sitting behind the table.
"Doctor Dion has arrived?"
"No, Doc. Ten minutes ago, he asked for an appointment with some patients in the second hour" one of the nurses replied.
Galendra. "Emergency patient?"
One of the nurses with Farah's name tag shook her head. "Only an outpatient control consultation appointment."
Galendra nodded her head while tapping her index finger on the table. "Let me know if Doctor Dion has come."
Farah and Mila - the names of the only-names nurse nodded compactly.
Galendra passed into his room while trying to contact Kalina, his older sister.
"Sir, same as Dion?" ask her when the call is raised.
"Oh jaudah. I was looking just now said the nurse hadn't come."
"Nggausaha , ntar aja. Just want to talk about the land that deket the district."
"Yes, okay. Be careful."
Galendra closed her call after a few seconds of talking to Kalina. He began preparing some supplies before one of the nurses knocked on his door.
"Dok, the patient who had an appendectomy yesterday this morning complained that his legs could not be moved."
Without a second thought, Galendra walked out of the room to the patient's room.
**
Galendra stretched both hands to the side and then up while growling stifled. It was still eleven o'clock in the afternoon, but his body was already very tired. When facing emergency patients, not only his strength is forced, but also mentally like being beaten all out.
He stepped towards the coffeeshop on the second floor of this hospital. It's cool, right? Galendra feels like he wants to give a throphy of appreciation for anyone who has an idea to realize a coffeshop in the hospital building.
From a distance not too far away, Dion was seen bending his body to say goodbye to one of the patients at the end of the corridor. The man approached Galendra with a sumringah.
"So tell me? Why?" his question when he managed to align the steps with Galendra.
Galendra. "Land in the Sapta, brush it."
"What is the border?"
Galendra nodded again. "Where else is Sapta nawarin?"
Dion scratched his nape. "There's no one." He chuckles to himself. "I've said no, if that's half of the city, half the county?"
"Udah is."
"So? Take aja? Sapta wants to sell everything, can't if we just want to buy half of it." Dion was hesitant.
"No problem. Kabarin Sapta, if I'm ready for the transaction at any time." Galendra waved at Dion after raising his chin towards the coffeeshop in front of him.
Galendra ordered one glass of cold americano and turned around to find a seat. He will rest for a while before busying himself with his patients.
While walking towards the empty chair in the corner of room , his eyes collided with a patient who seemed to have just walked in together - perhaps - his family.
Galendra smiled, considering that it was the patient who had been chatting with Dion at the end of the corridor.
The girl smiled weakly, the pale face still could not cover her pretty face.
Saucy too.
**
Galendra splashed his body on a king-size bed with a plain navy bed sheet. Both of his arms supported his head with a straight look towards the ceiling of the room.
Soon, Kalina - her sister - will marry Dion, which means she is the only one who lives in the house of her parents.
Galendra got up, walked towards the bookshelf in the corner of her room. Grabbing one open that the last few years most routinely he reads.
A two hundred-page book whose cover looks outdated.
Galendra opened the twenty-nine page, after it was finished he jumped to page eight, then jumped again to page twenty-nine.
Two seconds after Galendra finished the last sentence on page twenty-nine , the book disappeared along with Galendra who was also nowhere to be seen again.
...Twenty August, two thousand twenty-nine....
...Galendra stretched her body when she realized she landed in her own room. After putting the book in his hand into a backpack, he stepped into the kitchen, took a glass of water before finally exiting the house....
..."Huh, rain?" he muttered softly as his eyes caught the wet ground ahead....
...He looked up, looking at the not so dark sky....
..."I just want to see Madam Kal for a little while after that go straight back." He decided to keep his feet out of the gate of his house. Walking briefly to the highway in front of the compound, he stopped a taxi that happened to pass....
...Along the way, Galendra smiled. Today is her brother's birthday. He wanted to make sure his brother was happy on his birthday....
...The taxi stopped in front of a two-storey brown house. Galendra came out, staring at the many people crowding the courtyard with one man - it seemed the police - who drove them from going deeper....
...Galendra's heart was pounding as he got closer he heard someone crying his name....
..."Gale, why so long? Cepet Gal, Kalina-" the woman sobbed between her phone calls. The woman he knew was named Mbak Wulan, his brother's best friend....
...Galendra was about to barge in but stopped when he saw some men carrying out a body bag. Body freezes. Among his confusion he heard his own voice screaming....
..."Ma'am! Ma'am!"...
...Galendra could see himself hugging the body bag with sobs....
..."Gale.." Mbak Wulan propped up his knees, trying to stay standing even though his body was already feeling like shedding....
..."Ma'am, what's going on here Ma'am? Ma'am Kal can't kill himself, can he?"...
...Galendra saw himself slumping to the ground. Crying wailing lamenting the hearse away....
..."She shouldn't have left Kalina alone at home. Ma'am should not have gone when Kalina asked to look for mango. Should've been..." Wulan continued to cry....
..."Dion's asshole! Why did she have to marry again on Kalina's birthday!"...
...Galendra continued to flinch at what was in front of him....
...His sister committed suicide on his birthday....
...Dion married again....
...Is this what he's going to have in six years?...
...Galendra followed Wulan and herself who left from there....
...Arriving at the hospital, Galendra kept his distance. He must not come into contact with himself in the future or he cannot go back to the present....
...His heart was overcrowded to see how broken he was lamenting the departure of his brother....
...Amidst Galendra's sobs, Dion appears with a woman still dressed as a bride....
..."Gal what-"...
..."Goddamn bum!" Galendra thrust his fist into Dion's face. "I told you, take good care of my mother!" Galendra clutched the collar of Dion's shirt....
...The woman who was with Dion earlier, tried to break up. As much as he could pull Galendra's hand to release his grip....
..."Move over!" Galendra stomped roughly at the woman's hand. "Don't touch me, damned woman!"...
..."Giselle, already! I'm fine." Dion looked at the woman before Galendra threw another punch....
...Galendra stared at the fight between himself and Dion. His gaze was no less fierce, if he could he also wanted to beat up Dion now....
...The woman in the bridal dress turned around, squeezed the clothes on her chest and staggered with tears....
..."She.. the patient?"...
