They Say, I'm a Liar
Go home

“What's the Mas?” ask Qeiza.

Ivander remained silent. Stiff and not moving.

“Mas what's up?!” shout Ivona.

“Ga ... Book your flight tickets now. Find the fastest flight. Nope, no. Find a plane rental that can leave now also to Indonesia. We're home now!”

Anggara was silent for a while after hearing Ivander's orders. Something must be urgent in Indonesia. If not, Ivander could not have invited them all to return to Indonesia. Moreover, their vacation plans are still a few days away.

Tau if it was urgent, a moment later, Anggara decided to get out of the restaurant and contact someone. The man carried out orders from his brother-in-law looking for a chartered plane to leave for Indonesia as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, inside the restaurant, Ivona kept asking the reason that made them have to return to Indonesia immediately.

Ivander still kept silent and looked at his only brother with a glare.

“Bapi why, Mas?”

Ivona kept asking that. The woman seemed to know, if the news received by Ivander was bad news. And the bad news must have come from their father.

“Mas, reply Mas!” bentak Ivona's. All the guests in the restaurant stared at the screaming Ivona. Ivander approached his brother and sat by his side. Clasping fingers while staring at the brownish netra of the sister, “Papi is critical, Von,” Ivander. The man almost shed tears as he delivered the news to Ivona.

Ivona's mouth is open. The woman's tears just escaped. How could their father suddenly be critical? In fact, yesterday they just made a video call and the father still looks fine. What happened the last few hours?

“Papi slips when you want to take a frame that is stuck on the wall,” Ivander said.

“Pi-pigura?” ivona asked in a hoarse voice.

“Papi wants to take a photo stuck on the wall of his study. No one knows when Papi will be in the workspace. From the CCTV footage Papi fell at four in the morning. And the new housekeepers found out at seven o'clock, when they were looking for Papi to take him to breakfast.”

Not only Ivona, Qeiza, Qiana and Raka were shocked to hear Ivander's story. But, the man knew, Ivona was the most surprised to hear the story.

“Papi found drenched in blood while hugging photo Mami,” shriek Ivander.

Ivona started sobbing. Ivander also brought his brother in his arms. The atmosphere that a few minutes ago was so cheerful and happy, now suddenly gloomy and grieving.

“Continue, Papi's condition is now how, Mas?”

“Papi is still in critical condition. We just pray that Papi is strong and can pass the critical period.”

Ivona nodded in the arms of the older brother. And a few moments later, Anggara came and brought news about the rental plane they would ride to Indonesia.

“Four hours, the plane is ready to fly from Osaka Airport, Mas. I've finished the dinner payment tonight. We better go back to the hotel and pack,” said Anggara.

Ivander nodded his head. The Bratajaya family left the restaurant and returned to the hotel. They immediately prepare all the goods they will bring, then check out the process from the hotel and go directly to the airport in Osaka.

After checking the completeness of correspondence at Kansa International Airport, Ivander and his entire extended family were immediately escorted to the plane that had been rented by Anggara before.

High wind speeds delayed the plane's departure by up to two hours. Ivander and Ivona could only stare at the window of the plane and pray for their father.

The father who has taken care of them alone since they were left twenty years ago. A father who thinks only of his two children without caring for himself. A father who stands alone earns a living and takes care of the needs of his two children. A father who always thinks about the happiness of his two children.

“Please don't take his life. I still haven't thanked him directly,” whispered Ivander on the glass window of the plane. The man could not help the pain in his heart. Tears can no longer be contained. Qeiza, who was nursing Sean, stared at her husband. The woman understood what her husband was feeling. Andrew had so much to do with her husband's life.

Qeiza gave Sean to her mother and asked her to take Qiana to another cabin on the plane.

Qiana still followed the footsteps of the grandmother. But, the little girl's tiny legs suddenly stopped stepping when she saw Raka sitting alone while bowed.

“Nek ... Qia can accompany Mas Raka?”

Melati also saw Raka who kept her head down withstanding the sadness of her chest greetings.

“Iya. You accompany Raka. Entertain him,” said Melati. Qiana stepped closer to Raka.

“Mas ...,” call Qiana. Raka. Tears that had been on her feet earlier, instantly dripped as she looked at Qiana who was now by her side.

“Mas can hug Qia?” ask Raka. Qiana nodded and spread out her hands so that Raka could hug her. Raka's tears were getting spilled in Qiana's embrace. And the little girl tried to calm down by patting Raka on the back.

“Mas, what's up? Why is everyone sad. Mama and Papa are sad, Aunt Ivon and Om Angga are also sad. Raka was crying too. What's up Mas?” qiana asked after Raka's crying subsided.

Raka released her embrace on Qiana's petite body.

“Grandpa, Qi. Grandpa fell and is now unconscious in hospital,” said Raka.

“Means fainting?”

Raka answered Qiana's question with a weak nod.

“Then, we pray Grandpa from here. We are again in the sky. Closer to God,” said Qiana. Raka smiled faintly hearing Qiana's words.

“Ayo Mas, we pray.”

Andreas Bratajaya's two grandchildren also recited prayers for their grandfather.

“It's midnight. Let's sleep Qia. Tomorrow morning we arrive in Indonesia.”

Raka asked Qiana to move to sit in the chair next to them, then prepare a place for Qiana to sleep. The teenage man stretched the back of the chair and the footrest, so that Qiana could relax her body and sleep comfortably. The man also attached a blanket to his cousin's sister.

“Qia know not, before we leave for Japan, Grandpa advised Mas to keep Qia,” said Raka who was still sitting in the same chair with Qiana.

“Just keep Qia?”

Raka nodded her head. “Iya, Grandpa ordered Mas to take care of Qia. Because Sean and Mika already have a nanny to look after him. So, Mas who should keep Qia,” explained Raka.

“Qia want right, guarded by Mas?”

Qiana who was already lying down, then nodded her head while smiling. Raka is an older brother who is greatly admired by Qiana. The teenage man was always kind and also often taught him many things. Being guarded by Raka naturally made Qiana feel happy.

“Mas promise will keep Qia well. Mas will keep Qia until Qia mature.”

Qiana nodded her head again while smiling.

“Already, let's go to sleep,” said Raka. The teenage man moved and slept in a chair beside Qiana.

After a seven-hour drive, Bratajaya's extended family finally arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. It was exactly at 10:00 WIB. They went straight to the hospital where Andreas was treated.
