The Widow's Choice

The Widow's Choice
Truth part 2

"This is Rahman's wife!" said Bu Tari when he came to the front with Nurul. Everyone looked towards Tari.

"Nurain?" said Isti.

"Mom Isti?" nurul was surprised.

Akbar who sat next to Rahman stood up. Nurul. "Mas Akbar?" Deg.

"Do you know each other?" said Bu Tari with a confused look.

Akbar immediately left the room and entered the private room of Bu Tari.

"So Isti bu and Akbar mas, budhe's son dance?" ask Nurul slowly.

"Yes" said Tari. Nurul's body was a little shabby. He was holding on to a wall nearby.

"Bar, Barbarian! Bentar Bar! Akbar Mahendra dengerin mbak Tya," Isti tried to call his sister. But there's no answer. "Ma let's talk first! Just shut it all up!" pamit Isti while pulling his mother's hand.

"Aren't you papa?" asked Rahman who then ran over to Nurul. Nurul stared blankly. His mind wandered far away. Think about the possibilities that can occur. His head started to throb and got louder. His view is starting to become unclear. "Daddy, deck?" Nurul still has not answered Rahman's call. Suddenly his body fell on Rahman's arms. Rahman immediately picked her up and put Nurul on the sofa. Madam Dira and Fatimah panicked.

"Nurul why Man?" ask mom Dira.

"Rahman doesn't know ma'am either'. Deck, deck," Rahman tries to resuscitate Nurul. Ms. Dira took wind oil in her bag. He rubbed on Nurul's nose.

"Mbak Nurul wake up, mbak!" Fatimah panicked.

Nurul soon began to wake up. His forehead creased deeply and started to open his eyes slowly. He was still trying to gather his consciousness.

"Alhamdulillah, you are aware. You're not papa?" ask Rahman.

Nurul just nodded his head. "Mbak Nurul, drink first!" said Fatimah while giving a glass filled with white water.

Rahman helps Nurul to wake up. He drank the water that Fatimah gave him. He held up his own seat. "Why are you nduk?" ask Dira after Nurul can sit alone.

"Nurul apologizes ma'am, Nurul is really sorry ma'am" Nurul said with tears that had soaked her cheeks.

"I'm sorry for what? Because you know Tya and Akbar? There's no harm in nduk," comfort Dira.

"You have a relationship with Akbar?" ask Rahman.

Nurul looked at Rahman's face. His tears are flowing more and more. His feelings are really not funny. He was afraid that the relationship between the two families would be stretched because of him. He was also afraid that Rahman and Dira would be angry and disappointed with him for not telling them about Akbar.

Bu Dira hugged Nurul. "Calm down, tell me slowly!" said Miss Dira calming.

Slowly Nurul's cries subsided and Dira's mother let go of her embrace. "You know Tya and Akbar?" ask mom Dira.

"Yes?" nurul was confused. "What does bu Isti mean? Miss Listyani Maheswari?" Miss Dira nodded.

"Bu Isti, Nurul's superior at work," Nurul replied softly.

"Then Akbar?" ask Rahman.

"Since the last two years Akbar tried to approach Nurul, but Nurul always refused. And exactly one day after Rahman's mother and mas to Jogja that day, mas Akbar expressed his intention to preach Nurul," Nurul replied in a frightened voice.

Madam Dira and Rahman looked at each other. They remembered their last visit to the boutique back then. They finally realized, it turned out that the person Akbar meant at that time was Nurul who was ready to be hosted by Rahman.

"Do you regret accepting your mother's proposal and not accepting Akbar's proposal?" ask mom Dira.

"No ma'am, Nurul never regretted it. That's not what Nurul Bu means'. Nurul is just scared, mom is disappointed with Nurul for not telling her about this problem, and the relationship of mother and budhee,,"

"You're thinking too far!" Dira Ma.

"I'm sorry I stayed a long time" said Ms. Tari who returned with Isti and Akbar. "Why are you nduk?" tanya bu Tari when she saw Nurul's face.

"No papa mbak! Oh yes mbak, sorry for," said Miss Dira.

"Nothing is wrong. This is all out of our control. Isti has also told me about Nurul completely. Budhe is not angry with you. Are you crying because of this?" ask bu Tari.

"Yes budhe, even Nurul was able to faint," said Fatimah.

"Fainted?" say bu Tari and Isti together. Akbar looks panicked but tries to control his emotions. Nurul is now Rahman's wife.

Fatimah also told me what happened after Bu Tari and Isti left. "Jeez Rul, you were thinking it must be a distance. Cook yes, Mama Sama budhe Dira want to marahan because of this?" said Isti.

Bu Tari approached Nurul and hugged her. "Sorry nduk, Budhe once thought badly of you. You turned out very well."

"Yes budhe, Nurul also apologized," Nurul returned Tari's embrace.

"Calm Rul, everything is under control. Akbar is better, right,?" said Isti.

Nurul then took off his embrace and turned to Isti. He then nodded his head. "Thank you, Isti,"

Rahman stood up to Akbar. "Sorry Bar,"

"Here you go, Akbar is not papa. Akbar was just surprised. Please take care of Nurul for Akbar mas! If it reaches Rahman nyakitin Nurul," Akbar stopped his speech and whispered a little in Rahman's ear, ", Akbar will definitely take Nurul from Rahman!"

The conversation continues. Until the time ashar bu Dira family decided to go home. Fatimah and Ali had to return to Semarang. Not to forget that Dira invited the Tari bu family to a tasyakuran event that will be held in four weeks.

...****************...

Everything went as usual. Nurul is getting used to his new life. Though difficult, she tries to be a good wife to Rahman. Moreover, after the events of that day, Rahman's attitude was colder towards Nurul.

Three weeks have passed since that day. Rahman was still cold to Nurul. Nurul even had trouble asking the reason for his cold attitude.

Today is Nurul's last day at work. "When did you quit your job?" asked Dira after she finished breakfast and saw Nurul was ready to go to work.

"Today Nurul last works bu'," replied Nurul.

"Mother's sick?" sahut Al's.

"Dear, why?"

"Mother's pale face."

"Yes, your face is pale. Man, you take Nurul to work!" mom Dira's orders.

"No need to ma'am, Nurul left alone. Mas Rahman let rest at home, it's the weekend," refused Nurul.

"But you have to be escorted Rahman, your condition is not good so nduk, mother is not calm! And look tuh, start drizzling right, later you even more sick again," forced Miss Dira.

Nurul felt his stomach churn. He ran straight to the guest toilet not far from the dining room. Bu Dira panicked to see Nurul. He ran after Nurul to the toilet.

Hoeek, hoeekk, hoeekkk, Nurul spewed out all of his entrails. He was sitting limp in the toilet. He then cleaned up the vomit marks in his mouth and poured out his vomit.

"Aren't you papa nduk?" ask Dira who saw Nurul sitting on the floor.

"It looks like Nurul got in the wind bu', a few days of rain," replied Nurul.

"Makanya, today you work so that you can be picked up with Rahman. I don't want you on the street." Be firm, Miss Dira. Nurul just nodded his head.

Bu Dira helped Nurul stand up and get out of the toilet. "Or don't you just go? Let Tya's phone mom get your permission,"

"No need to ma'am, Nurul must be the last report as well bu Isti today. So Nurul has to go,"

"Yes, if there's anything you call Rahman, let him pick you up" said Dira, who was greeted with a nod of his head by Nurul.

Nurul finally went to work with Rahman. Al also took his mother. Rahman and Nurul remain silent until they reach Nurul's workplace. Nurul then said goodbye to rahman. "The body is very hot" Rahman murmured after Nurul said goodbye.

At work, Nurul has not done much. Just keep an eye on Azka who is getting proficient with her new job. When Isti arrived, he reported everything before he stopped working. Everyone was sorry that Nurul had to stop working. But everyone understands Nurul's position now.

Afternoon. Rahman has come to pick up Nurul. "Mbak Nurul, is that her husband? Don't know dong mbaakk," whine Dila.

"Yes mbak, mumpung mbak Nurul is still here" replied Riki.

"Eemmmm, hold on! But no promises either, hhehe," replied Nurul. He walked to the back and picked up his phone and called Rahman.

"Assalamu'alaikum mas,"

"Wa'alaikumussalam, why?"

"Sorry Rahman, could you please come in the store for a moment? Nurul's friends want to be acquainted with Rahman, that's if rahman did not mind,"

Tut, tut, tut, tut, the phone was turned off by Rahman. Nurul took a long breath. He walked towards the locker to pick up his bag. With heavy steps he walked out. Trying to find a reason to give to his friends.

When I got to the front, how shocked Nurul was. He saw Rahman talking casually with his friends. "Mas Rahman?"

"It's over?" ask Rahman kindly.

"It's a problem" answered Nurul.

"Mbak Nurul, when will I see you again? Dila must be kangen deh, mama also kangen iti mbak same Al," Dila wiggled in the hands of Nurul.

"In shaa Allah tomorrow Sunday. I asked permission from Isti, tomorrow Sunday there are tasyakuran at home, you come! Mama Tika invited ya Dil," Nurul's message.

"Really mbak?" ask Azka.

"Yes, Isti was giving permission" replied Nurul. Everyone cheered happily to be the center of attention of the customers.

"Yes, I'll go home first, yeah,"

"Be careful, ma'am! And Rahman, please take care of this one!" said Dila.

"Yes, definitely" Rahman replied.

"Assalamu'alaikum" Nurul said.

"Wa'alaikumussalam," answered everyone.

All of Nurul's friends wave to Nurul before Rahman's car leaves the store. Nurul is like a mother figure to them. Although their lifespan is not too far away, Nurul's nature makes her look more mature.
