In her room, Yunita was immediately bowed limp. ‘Do I have to do it?’, unlike earlier when he entered the house with confidence, his mind now seemed to question again what the real goal he wanted to achieve.
He then patted both of his cheeks rather loudly and shook his head several times to dispel the thought that would undo his determination at the beginning, the moment before he entered into this house.
Unwilling to continue drowning in his current confusion, he walked to his wardrobe which was in the corner of his room; picked up the suitcase he used to wear while out on the streets; and he walked up to his wardrobe; then put some of his clothes in and put them in the suitcase, just in case for the worst-case scenario that might happen later.
"Yuna?"
Unfortunately, when he was packing his belongings, the door of his room opened because he forgot to lock it. Because of the distance where he is standing now with the door quite far—and there is no way he will have time to reach the door to close and lock it—he finally exerted his strength as much as possible to close the suitcase, and intend to shift it to the other side of the mattress.
Unfortunately for him, the suitcase was too heavy for him to push. Her brother's gaze now is like a person who is catching a wet thief who broke into his house, “Yun, ka... Where are you going?”
“Ka.. Sis, I could..” when he was about to explain, his brother closed the door; locked it; then walked up to him.
“What does all this mean?” her brother asked in a rather slow but very clear voice when his brother was angry. His sister even pointed at the suitcase on the bed that was not neatly covered.
Having no other choice, Yunita finally recounted the events yesterday starting her meeting with Alika's sister yesterday, up to how she was cast for a web drama. She could only hope that her brother could understand her current state, let alone that it was her brother who always told her not to think too much about their father's words whenever he or her brother were scolded.
“Wait here,” said his brother out of his room, and back again shortly after, “Nih,” his brother gave a card commonly used hotels.
“This what?”
“Auto Lock,”
“But right..”
“Already, from the first brother has planned to break away from the bond of Father. But it's always canceled. And now, even you first rebel,”
“But mom..”.
“Mama will definitely understand, you just focus on your plan, prove that you can indeed succeed in your own way. But, still, your education is also the number one, you can not underestimate it,”
Fortunately, her brother had secretly had the same thoughts as her all this time. In his heart, he promised, would prove that his father's view so far about the name of freedom in a career is nonsense is wrong.
For a few minutes, he and his brother reminisced about their childhood. For her, nothing was too special, because her birth mother died when she was born.she could only hear stories about her birth mother from her brother; she was very close to her mother; who often said that he was very similar to their mother was cut in two.
Their father, said his brother, began to change since the departure of their mother. Sometimes, when hearing her brother's story how the mother and father used to be, Yunita often blamed herself for the departure of her mother. However, her brother always said, ‘Fate is in the hands of Maha Kuasa’.
Finished in a short nostalgia, the two of them hugged for a while before descending into the dining room. During dinner together, his father did not speak at all, nor did he look at him. Unable to bear it anymore, she started the conversation while her mother and one of their maids were preparing food.
“Ma, if I am an artist how ma?” instead of making her point directly, she started by pretending to question her mother's opinion first.
“Good thing, just do not play soap operas that make no sense just rich now-now,” replied his mother, while his father still seems not to care at all and only focus on the newspaper he read.
“So can?”
“Why should an accountant? So that Dad can brag at a family gathering like that?” after a moment of silence, Yunita decided to fight her father blatantly by revealing all of his heart's contents.
“You..”
“Yes right? It always is, everything must conform to their standards. What's so great about being praised by them? Are they the ones who want to support me in the future? No,”
“Already..”.
“Why do you want to be an artist? Is it because of your boyfriend, whose name is Andre? Who picked you up in a fancy car outside that time? He poisoned your mind, didn't he?” his mother tried to run it, but his father did not seem to care and instead brought Andre into this problem. Spontaneously, Yunita became a little emotional seeing how her father was dragging and accusing others.
“Dad don't have to take her, instead she told me to ask Dad with mom. But there are no results either. Dad is always selfish, always forced to meet the standards of a large family that has no benefit,”
“Egoist? This is your reply after all this time Daddy raised you? After your mother's painstaking labor gave birth to you until it had to be nothing like that,”
“AYAH!! STOP!!” her brother's voice that was so loud made them all speechless.
His father's face changed as if he felt guilty about what he said just now. However, her father's last words just made Yunita's desire to stay in this house disappear completely. His heart ached when he heard these words coming out of the mouth of his father, his own biological father.
“Ja.. Ja's.. So I see, father's real feelings,” he tried to hold back his grief, but apparently couldn't. Her tears began to wet her cheeks, “OK if i.. that's what you feel, I better not be here right?”
Without much further ado, he left the dining table; walked at a rapid pace back to his room and tidied up the suitcase he had prepared earlier. After finishing the repairs, when his eyes saw the family photos on his study table, he took a photo of one of the photos and slipped it into his suitcase again.
On the doorstep of her room, her pajama-wearing brother was waiting for her with a faint smile on his face, “You are doing nothing right? Father said earlier.”.
“I understand, it's just a moment of anger. But, I can’t what he say to me, at least for couple days,” he said, he really knows what his brother wants to say. His sister hugged him, then escorted him down.
“WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO LET IT GO LIKE THAT HUH!!?” their stepmother's voice was loud enough to even be heard when she and her brother were descending the stairs to the living room, “NOT QUITE ALL QUARRELS DURING THIS TIME UNTIL YOU HAVE TO UNCOVER SUCH PAINFUL THINGS?!”
Surprisingly enough, this was the first time she had seen their stepmother angry. If most parents were evil stepfathers, he did not expect that their stepmother would defend them desperately, especially her at this time.
He actually wanted to say goodbye, but his feelings were already shattered at this time, making him rather lazy to have to look at his father's face. Her brother who seemed to understand only smiled, said nothing, and continued walking with her.
As the two of them were loading the suitcase into her brother's car and preparing to leave, their stepmother came out to them; and tearfully tried to stop Yunita from leaving. However, his decision was already unanimous; he then asked the stepmother, who was already considered to be his own mother, to look after the father until he could show that he could succeed.
It took a few minutes for her mother to accept her decision. Her mother then took something out of her pocket, and gave Yunita a credit card.
“At least take this, buy good food, don't live like a hard person. If until you mama can live like that, mama will drag you back home,”
“What a hard life, the person he I gave my apartment key,” said his brother.
“Just be careful if you live rich people hard, ngak will mama forgive, remember it is fine,” said his mother.
After hugging for a while, he then said goodbye to his mother; got into the car; and left his mother in the garage.
