15. CPSK 03_04. Taklamakan Desert.

~ 15 Years later ~ around. 617 M. Taklamakan Desert ~

Xinjiang Uyghur Province, China

Chil Sook chases, getting lost in the desert. Amidst his confusion, in the middle of a barren desert, accompanied only by a night of starlight, Chil Sook meets a young boy named Deok man.

Deok Man was driving away the cold of the night with a bonfire when Chil Sook approached him. Chil Sook talks to Deok Man, then tells of his journey to get lost in the Taklamakan desert.

So Hwa continued to run, run and run, arriving in the middle of the thatch field while holding Princess Imyeong. So Hwa ran to the beach until entering the forest.

The cavalry consisted of several Hwarang men, racing in pursuit of So Hwa. They crossed the grassland and reached the edge of the forest.

So Hwa entered the forest, tired of her stopping and leaning against the tree while holding princess Imyeong in her arms. With a tremble So Hwa looked around, making sure it was safe. Seeing a group of horsemen riding from a distance, So Hwa immediately ran back into the depths of the forest.

While crying and continuing to tighten her arms, So Hwa penetrated the darkness of the forest. The horse-riding pursuers were getting closer, they were getting more and more excited about driving the horse they were riding. Panicked, So Hwa fell. It was fortunate that little Imyeong's daughter did not cry.

It seemed like this little princess understood the circumstances, princess Imyeong fell asleep in So Hwa's arms.

Princess Imyeong continued to cry, So Hwa ran on and on, the cavalry kept on pushing her horse closer to the sound of baby crying. So Hwa continued to run until she finally arrived at the abandoned mine.

Carrying Inmyeong's daughter who kept crying, So Hwa rushed into the former mine cave. Inside the cave, So Hwa looked around, the princess's cries were getting louder in the closed room. So Hwa went down the cave to find the right place to celebrate.

With torches in hand, the cavalry led by Chil Sook rode through the forest, until they arrived at the abandoned mine.

"Come, move." Chil Sook, commanding his army to enter the old mine.

"Good." They answered in unison, then drove the horse into the mine.

So Hwa found the right hiding place. So Hwa sat down cross-legged, then she suckled baby Inmyeong, to stop the little baby's crying.

So Hwa suckled her while still watching her around. So Hwa saw the cavalry entering the cave, then So Hwa shifted his body sideways behind the cave wall to hide.

Using the torch shuffled, the Hwarangs walked down the hallway of the cave. They're stuck on a written rope - right.~ (Geum) Forbidden to pass ~ Chil Sook cut the rope with his sword.

"We're going in." Chil Sook gives orders to the troops, to enter the cave.

"Ready!" Hwarang simultaneously answered, then moved into the cave in the old mine.

They immediately dispersed, inspecting the entire space inside the cave.

("I beg you..") So Hwa thought, when a Hwarang brandished a torch to check the hole in front of him. But Hwarang did not see So Hwa, then passed from that place.

("Good..") So Hwa nodded again, when Hwarang left his hiding place.

After examining the entire room, with nil results. The Hwarangs regrouped and reported to Chil Sook.

"How is this?" Hwarang asked Chil Sook.

"Should we check everything? Any more?" The other Hwarang, ascertaining the next step.

"Put fire in every hole." Chil Sook gave orders to the entire Hwarang.

"Good!" A Hwarang answered Chil Sook's orders.

"Put fire in every hole of the cave!" Chil Sook repeated his order making sure to Hwarang.

"Good!" They simultaneously answered and immediately rushed to burn the wood in every crack of the cave.

Then they collected dry twigs, placed in each crevice of the cave, after all arranged and then they burned the twigs.

"My son..." So Hwa peeked at Hwarang burning a twig, then hugged princess Inmyeong who started crying.

Smoke began to billow, entering So Hwa's hideout. So Hwa coughed. The little princess was seen as short of breath, then immediately helped breathing in little princess Imyeong.

While the Hwarangs burned twigs in each crevice of the cave, the fire grew bigger. Faintly Hwarang Chil Sook heard the cry of a baby. Hwarang Chil Sook sharpened his hearing, and looking around the cave confirmed something.

So Hwa coughed coughs, but So Hwa still helps breathing in small babies, without caring for herself. Chil Sook walks beside So Hwa's hideout.

To ascertain the origin of the sound, he sat crouched down in front of So Hwa's hiding gap. His eyes peered into the cave.

So Hwa was getting more helpless, amid the smoke that was getting thicker the chest was getting crowded. Back again the instinct of a mother who is concerned for her daughter rather than herself, back to help little Inmyeong with artificial breath.

Princess Inmyeong was loud, So Hwa coughed. Because it was not able to withstand the burden So Hwa hit the embers and out of his hiding place.

Arriving outside the cave gap, So Hwa fell down. From his mouth came smoke, Chil Sook who noticed the place from earlier, immediately ordered his subordinates to arrest So Hwa.

So Hwa shouted both shoulders, in the clutches of 2 hwarang people. While both of his hands hugged little Inmyeong tightly. So Hwa was forced to get up from her seat.

"No... Don'tdon't... Nay! Don't do it." So Hwa yells, crying while defending her baby that was forcibly taken by Chil Sook.

Chil Sook who managed to take small Inmyeong immediately carried her and looked at So Hwa.

"My boy.. Release him! That's my son!" So Hwa thrashed because it was held tightly by 2 Hwarang people.

Chil Sook opens the protective face of little Inmyeong's daughter. The crying of an increasingly hardened baby.

"Don't! Nay! Nay! That's my baby!" So Hwa shouted while continuing to wrangle.

"Bring him in." Chil Sook gave the order while covering back the protective face of little Inmyeong's daughter.

"Ready!" 2 Hwarang simultaneously answered while dragging So Hwa out of the cave.

"My boy... Give son! Give it!." So Hwa shouted out like a madman in the grip to 2 Hwarang.

They all came out from inside the cave, heading to where the horses were tied.

"He's mine! Give baby... She's mine!" So Hwa kept shouting thrashing.

Chil Sook held the little Inmyeong and walked up to the horse and prepared to ride it, immediately turning towards So Hwa after hearing his curse.

"B@jing@n! Don't you know whose kid it is?" So Hwa's face was clear, both of his arms had been released by the 2 Hwarangs.

"No!" Chil Sook glared, passed by cynically staring at So Hwa then about to ride his horse.

Suddenly arrived 2 arrows shot towards Chil Sook, with deft Chil Sook avoiding him. The two arrows continued to accelerate, after passing Chil Sook and hit the chest of the 2 Hwarang who had held the arm of So Hwa. The 2 Hwarangs died instantly, his body falling to the ground. So Hwa was surprised and shouted.

There was a man in white, holding a bow on his horse, on the precipitous cliff above, in front of them. It was a Gukseon.

Gukseon got off his horse then jumped down from the hill, directly aiming the remaining 2 arrows at Hwarang. Darling missed.

Gukseon drew his sword, a distinctive style of fighting with the sword dangling down. Gukseon immediately jumped up and ran towards the Hwarangs.

The Hwarangs drove towards Gukseon with a sword in hand, after having Chil Sook command. The fight happened.

In a single leap with 5 sword slashes, Gukseon finished off 5 Hwarangs in a split second.

While continuing to run, his feet hooked the arrows lying on the ground, while his left hand grabbed the bow, his right hand scooped the arrows from the hook of his foot earlier.

Gukseon immediately shot Chil Sook. An arrow hits Chil Sook's waist, and Inmyeong's daughter is thrown into the air from Chil Sook's sling.

The baby was taken directly to Gukseon's grave before falling to the ground. Gukseon hugged her, then opened princess Inmyeong's protective face, looked at her, took the rope and tightly tied the little princess Inmyeong to her body.

Chil Sook stared intently at Gukseon, his left hand breaking the arrow that stuck in his waist. And the fight was inevitable.

Both are Hwarang legends, they are the best rank 1 and 2 in Hwarang. Fierce fighting was inevitable, but it seemed that Gukseon was in control.

So Hwa in a stand in the saddle of the horse, her hands tightly hugged the little princess Inmyeong. Gukseon sat behind So Hwa. Then the horse left the cave.

Chil Sook tried to stand up and fell back because of his injury. So Hwa looks towards Chil Sook as she passes with Gukseon and little princess Inmyeong.

After seeing Gukseon spur his horse, Chil Sook tried to get up. Chil Sook walked towards his horse, riding it following in the footsteps of the Gukseon horse.

There was a chase between Chil Sook dsn Gukseon even though it was very far away.

"And finally, I lost them." Chil Sook said to Deok Man while stretching his hand.

"So, are you giving up?" Deok Man asked, his hand throwing a twig at the bonfire.

"No..." Chil Sook answered flatly.

"I found them again on the full moon. But once again I'm late, they've sailed by ship to Hangzhou*." Chil Sook clarified his answer, turning to Deok Man.

[*Hangzhou is a province in China, Zheijiang Province.]

"So that brought you here?!" Deok Man asked Chil Sook.

"At that time, the only thing I could think about was catching him." Chil Sook plays a twig in his hand on a bonfire.

"Then?!" Deok Man asked back to Chil Sook.

"You spent 15 years looking for the same woman?" Deok Man asked again, his face full of curiosity.

"No." Chil Sook answered and smiled.

"I walked 2 years in this country looking for him. And my hometown is getting away." Chil Sook stared at Deok Man.

"I spent many years in this search. I can't go back to my hometown, and embarrass my master." Chil Sook took a deep breath and smiled back.

"Ah... Right."." Right." Deok Man nodded his head in a nod at Chil Sook's story.

"It's an international trade area, isn't it?" Chil Sook asked Deok Man calmly.

"Yes. Why?" Deok Man answered and asked Chil Sook.

"Do you want to trade here?" Deok Man asked Chil Sook curiously.

"Not... I heard Daebullimguk's merchants are quite generous." Chil Sook answered Deok Man's question again.

"really? Well then, you've met the right person!" Deok Man replied then stood up, his hands clapped on his chest.

Chil Sook just squinted his eyes staring

towards Deok Man.

Then they continued their journey to the nearest village. Each led a camel that brought their supplies.

Deok Man led in front, while carrying a 2 branching wooden stick as a walking pedestal. Slowly but surely they penetrated into the depths of the night in the middle of the desert.

"You should be grateful for meeting me, Ajeosshi. If you don't meet me, you might get lost." Deok Man replied with a smile. While guiding his ontanya, his eyes moved to and fro watching the desert sand.

"Yes, right?!" Deok Man smiled proudly.

"But.. How do you speak Gyerim* fluently, but never there?" Chil Sook asked calmly.

"I live in a trading area... Most of the merchants who come here can speak several languages." Deok Man answered Chil Sook's question.

In the middle of the journey Deok Man stopped his steps, his hand signaled Chil Sook to stop.

"Wait on! Don't move!" Deok Man shouted then his hand pointed towards something.

"Why?" Chil Sook asked in astonishment.

"That's quicksand." Answer Deok Man.

"Sand suction?!" Chil Sook stopped then walked over to Deok Man.

"See. In the desert, you will find such sand occasionally. If it falls there, you won't be able to run." Deok Man explained in detail to Chil Sook.

"Come on. The street." Deok Man immediately took the lead in front.

Then they walked back in the dark of night. Not long after, Deok Man stopped his steps again, and signaled Chil Sook as before.

A viper crawled in front of them.

"Wait on! Don't walk on it. If it bites you, it'll hurt a lot. But this one looks good to trade." Deok said with a smile.

Using the tip of his 2-branched stick, Deok Man clamped the snake's head and caught it. The head of the snake was held tightly and Deok Man stuffed it into a pouch hanging on the camel's back.

Deok Man took the stick that was placed when he caught the snake, then again led the way.

"this..." Deok Man said in confusion, looking in all directions. He's losing his way.

"Gee!" Deok Man laughed, after a flurry of confusion. He looked up at the sky.

Then they continued their journey.

'Are you sure this is the way?!" Chil Sook asked while watching around.

"People get lost in the desert. But it's only for people who use maps." Deok Man replied with a smile.

"If I..." Deok Man walked over and stared at Chil Sook.

"I'm guided by that." Deok Man points towards the hijacker constellation /ursa major/orion.

"And also, I've remembered many constellations. If I think this way! definitely right. Or if I say through there, it's there!?" Deok Man spoke at length while laughing.

"I used to walk in the desert, and I got lost. So I just waited until night. Then I looked at the sky, and the stars were looking at me." Deok Man kept laughing.

"Thank God, I'm safe at home. Even Mom praises me." Deok Man said proudly.

After a long walk, visible lights decorate the village. Deok Man and Chil Sook speed up their steps. After seeing clearly Deok Man pointed towards the village in the middle of the desert.

"Ajeosshi, that's right there. Bagusan? Let's hurry." Deok Man refers to the village with his index finger.

They sped up, not so long, they came to the gate of the village. While leading the camel, they entered the gate.

Chil Sook stopped his steps right in the middle of the gate, while Deok Man continued to walk along the downhill path through which he passed.

"Ajeoohsi! Comeondown! Hurry along! We're still pretty far away." Shouted Deok Man from below to Chil Sook who was still sculpting, then rushed down the downhill road.
