CHAPTER 44

Ray began to check the young man's pulse and heart rate, but everything was no longer working. The young man whom he did not know his name was gone. There was a bit of disappointment in Ray's heart as the young man breathed his last as he almost got important information from him.

Ray entered his house with lethargic steps.

"How, Master? Did you manage to find that young man?" tanya mbok Asih who deliberately stood guard in the living room to wait for the arrival of the master.

"Lantas, why was the young man kicked out of his house?"

"By the way, it's near midnight and Lady Sofia hasn't come home yet. Even if she did go to her husband's house, why would she let her son be kicked out? I'm sure that something is not right" said Suci.

Meanwhile Sean is seen coming out of Sofia's treatment room to get some fresh air. At that time, two nurses were pushing a patient trolly. A policeman followed behind them. At first Sean was indifferent, however, suddenly he was interested in looking at the face of the patient who was on top of the trolly.

"Jeez, Benny!" muttered.

"Suster! Wait!" yells. The two nurses turned towards him.

"What's up, sir? Do you recognize this corpse?" ask one of the nurses.

"Je-je-nazah, Sus?"

"really. This patient was already in a state of death when he was taken to this hospital."

With trembling steps Sean approached the patient's trolly. Her crying broke when she found out that the patient was really her biological son, Benny

"Benny! Wake up, son. Forgive me," he said.

"So you know this patient?" ask the nurse

"Yes, Sus. He is Benny, my son. Does Sister know what happened to her?"

"God. You mean, my son died because he was beaten by a mob? Why would that be?" ask Sean.

"This patient was caught stealing a loaf of bread in a shop."

Sean was sitting on the bench. If only he had not blamed and expelled Benny, this terrible event would have never happened to him.

"As a patient's family, I hope you will immediately take care of the funeral of your son" said the nurse. Not long after the two nurses and police officers passed from in front of Sean.

"How's this? Paying for Sofi's treatment fee alone I'm already confused. Now taking care of Benny's funeral," he murmured.

The sound of the door creaking woke Sofia.

The gini live in darkness.

"Honey, that's you, right?" tanyakanya.

"Yes. Do you want to eat, drink, or go to the toilet?"

Sofia shook her head.

"Sofi .. did you not think to contact Ray?" ask Sean.

"How did you know you were here?" ask Sofia.

"Security told me."

"Ray never knew where Sean lived. How could he possibly come to that place?" inner Sofia.

"If Madam is thinking how Ray can know where Mr. Sean lives, I'm the one who told her, Madam," explained Asih.

Sofia fumbled as if looking for something. From there Ray realized that something had happened to his adoptive mother.

"Mother? Mother why?" tanyakanya.

"Sofi's blind," replied Sean.

"Y-w-ta?"

"What's really going on? Why are you blind?" ask Ray again.

"This started when Sofi wanted Benny's car. He wanted to take the car, but Benny refused to give it to him. Pulling happened until finally Benny pushed Sofi's body to fall. His forehead hit the corner of the table. Doctors said there was damage to his eye nerves. That's what caused Sofi to lose her sight" Sean said.

"I understand now. Sir blamed Benny and kicked him out, didn't you? Do you know, because Mr Benny passed away?"

"A-a-pa? Benny is dead?" sofia asked half in disbelief.

"Yes, Madam. Last night Benny had a chance to come to the house of Mr. Ray. He said he was starving because his father had driven him out. Mr. Ray who did not know Benny was then invited Benny into the house and told me to feed him and drink. However, when I had prepared food for him, Benny disappeared."

"It looks like Benny panicked after seeing Mom's picture in the living room. He knows that I'm Ray that you've been using all this time. That's why he chose to quickly leave my house. "I'm blind .. Benny died. Ha ha! Why am I living? I better catch up with him." Sofia fumbled at the table by her bedside. Finally, his hand found a glass. The glass was then smashed on the edge of the table until it broke in half.

"God. Baby, what do you want?"

"I'd rather die! There's no point in me living!"

"Respect! Don't be desperate!" jolt Sean.
