The Story At Dusk And Rain

The Story At Dusk And Rain
Section 4

Tonight, Kino fell asleep in my arms, her eye bags were swollen, her breathing heavy. I laid her body on the bed, stepped out of her room, closed the door slowly.

"You okay?" aunt's voice broke the silence, though,

"Yes, of course, I'm sorry you have to see this" I said,

"What's wrong, what about Kino? Has he improved?" ask auntie worried,

"It's not good, it's a shock for the umpteenth time." I said softly,

I walked away from my aunt standing on the stairs, opened the door, entered, locked the room. I intentionally didn't turn on my room light. My body slammed onto the floor of the room, curled up, hugging my knees, closing my eyes. I'mtired. Sighing, slowly standing up, stepping towards the window. Slowly my hands touched the window, coldly felt on each of my fingers, closed my eyes, sighed again. When will all this pass. Can I get through all this, I want to give up, I want to stop. But Kino, he will bear, he will suffer, he will not be strong. Tonight must have been the most painful night for her.

I stepped out of the room, walked into Kino's room, opened the door. Kino's still asleep, she's tired. I walked back, opened the curtains, opened the window, tidied up the book, picked up the scattered clothes. Unlike usual, the room looks messy. Finished cleaning his room, I walked out of the room, stepped down, put his dirty clothes in the basket. Walk towards the kitchen, take some milk and bread for Kino. My steps stopped, father standing in front of me with faint eyes, silent without a word said? I passed my father to the stairs,

"Has Kino improved?"

My steps stopped just as I was about to go up, only silent, staring at the stairs in front of me. I didn't want to turn my body back, walk up the stairs, leave dad in the kitchen. Knocking on Kino's room door, coming in, putting food on the table, walking up to Kino.

"How are you doing?"

My hands stretched out, stroked his head, ruffled his hair, then smiled. Thankfully, Kino was able to smile, yes even though only a thin smile, so thin only visible at a glance.

"You're big" I said with a smile

"I'm twelve years old, brother" he said, looking up,

"Yeah.assume you're a big boy" I said, ruffling his hair.

I walked out of Kino's room, went back to my room, changed clothes, picked up my phone and wallet. Stepping towards the exit of the house, wearing shoes, opening the door, walking out.

Along the way a lot of people passing by, of course this is the weekend, what do you expect when you go out on the weekend? The streets will not be empty, just the opposite. I have to go out, shop at the supermarket, buy the necessities of the house that are running out. Speed up the pace, walk on the sidelines of many people, pay attention to the road, occasionally stopped by people who cut off the road at will. Go into the supermarket take the basket, look for items nearest to the furthest, pay at the cashier, hurry home. I can't leave Kino at home alone. Brukk. Someone hit me and dropped my grocery bag.

"Sorry," he said briefly,

The boy collected my things, put them back in his shopping bag. And, who would have thought, he's the boy I met on the bus last night. Who would have thought we met sooner than I thought, I guess we'd meet again at school, and I think he's a pretty popular kid. Just don't pay attention.

"Thank you" I said

I walked back, leaving the boy behind. Get back in a hurry, walk faster, cross the street. Up across the street, someone was complaining behind me, I reflexively turned around. Apparently a young woman dropped her books. Who would have thought, the boy turned out to be watching me from afar. I hope it's not a bad thing.
