The Return of the Exempted Son-in-law

The Return of the Exempted Son-in-law
Chapter 17

After finishing accompanying and changing the appearance of Revan drastically, from a kingpin turned into a handsome man.

Revan is very grateful, being able to meet people who understand the meaning of return. It used to be that Revan helped Jo and now Jo is repaying all the kindness Revan has ever given.

As the saying goes, the good that is planted someday will reap the good as well.

"Your looks are better now. Tio has found an apartment for you to live in, you can come with Tio to see where you live. For work we're talking about tomorrow. Because tonight I still have dinner with my wife." Jo pats Revan on the shoulder before letting him go.

"Thank you so much Jo, for this one day. I will never forget your kindness. Of all the people I've helped, you're the only one who's willing to extend a hand to help me when I'm down." Revan hugged Jo tightly.

They also split because of different directions. Since it was late, Jo went straight home and he almost forgot that his wife had invited his parents to come home for dinner.

At home, Gibson's car was there. Jo glanced at the watch in his hand it was already eight o'clock, which meant that he had already missed an hour from the appointed time.

On the side of the door Zizi was standing while folding both his hands on his chest and a pouting face.

"Where are you going? I've been trying to reach the mas but not a single call has been picked up. Was it intentionally? If you don't want them to come, why did you ask me to invite them to dinner?" Zizi expressed all her frustration to her husband.

"I forgot." Briefly, Jo answered.

"What mas? Forgot! This is not over yet, after my parents come home we'll talk about it again."

"All right."

Jo also wrapped her hands around Zizi's waist and Zizi sighed and pretended there was no problem.

" Ma, Pa, I'm sorry Jo had a sudden meeting turned out, so the phone was not activated. But no problem, now that it's coming, let's start dinner!" Zizi.

They had dinner together in silence, only cutlery clashed with each other. When Jo became a son-in-law is not considered, let alone eat together, waiting for him no one wants and now everything has turned around. Gibson and Ana have to wait until Jo returns for dinner.

"Why didn't you guys say that before. Is it because now you know that the daughter-in-law who lives in your house turns out to be a conglomerate? You've treated me like a trash son-in-law and you want me to forgive you. I'm sorry I'm not a robot with no heart or feelings. I still can't forgive you guys just like that." Reject Jo.

"Can't you give us one chance? You know, we did it because we wanted to see our daughter happy" Ana said.

"Happy? you measure your daughter's happiness by treasure. You guys are really selfish parents, crazy treasures. I used to be quiet because I lived in your house. But now I'm standing on top of my own house. Whether you accept it or not is up to you. And I stress, be thankful that I still regard you as my in-laws even though you have insulted me too often. If you're done, you can leave this house." Jo just left the dining table. No matter how many times Zizi called him. Jo still really can't forgive her in-laws.

Gibson and Ana stare at each other, she can't interrupt Jo's words anymore. Right now what's coming out of Jo's mouth is an order.

"Zizi, it looks like we have to go home. Your husband kicked us out." Pamit Ana's.

"I'm sorry about the attitude of Jo ma, pa, he spoke so probably because he was too tired. I know Jo's nature how it really is." Zizi clearly felt guilty.

"Don't blame yourself and don't make this a fight. Tie Jo tight and never let go of the treasure you got. We're leaving now, take good care of yourself if you miss coming to visit our house." Pamit Gibson hugged her daughter before leaving.

Zizi drove both her parents to the doorstep. After the two left, Zizi could only sigh, unable to interrupt or defend the two.

After her parents left, Zizi returned to the room to calm her husband who was still filled with anger.

"Mas, are you asleep?" zizi asked and sat down next to Wilson who was sleeping on his side.

There is no answer from Jo, making Zizi think Jo is really asleep. She let her husband rest while cleaning himself before going to bed.

As Zizi leaves, Jo opens her eyes. He knew if he answered Zizi's call a fight might ensue. To avoid that Wilson chose to be quiet, because it was the best way to avoid a fight and Jo planned to talk with a cool head later.
