The Pawned Marriage

The Pawned Marriage
Unraveling

Three months passed. The Royal Police have still not been able to find the bright spot of Nafisa's disappearance.

Joseph was drowning in grief. Nina often went berserk because since Nafisa lost, her husband became less attentive to her and Farrel.

But Joseph did not heed, for him finding Nafisa was a priority. Moreover, he also blamed Nina who told Nafisa to leave that night.

That afternoon at the weekend, Yusuf had just returned from the police station that was still investigating the Nafisa case.

Nina directly charged at him with scolding.

“Mas, you can't keep believing. You spend all day at the police station. You rarely play with Farrel.”

Tired of inner birth, Joseph did not respond but immediately took Farrel from his wife's sling and joked with a handsome baby who immediately chuckled.

With a softer tone and seduce, Nina continued, “We better take a vacation, so as not to stress think of Nafi. My friends just got home from Hong Kong, there they shop ..”

Yusuf's forehead wrinkled.

“Comfort? In this atmosphere you ask us to take a vacation? Are you a mother or not, huh?” Cut Joseph withholds emotion.

“Is it because Nafisa is not your flesh and blood then your attitude is indifferent like this? How about Farrel's missing?” Joseph half-stomped.

Farrel was shocked to hear the change in tone of his father's voice immediately crying. Her grandmother came out of the room and held the grandchildren as soon as she saw Joseph and Nina seem to be struggling.

The presence of her mother made Nina feel like she had the wind.

“Iya Nafisa is not my son! Anyway I'm sick of seeing your face that looks like someone's about to be put to death. Here there are children and wives who need your attention, Mas!” Reply Nina with a jerking tone.

“Your path! It's been three months that my flesh and blood is gone, Nin! My boy! Is that why that night you forced Nafisa sent to the dormitory?”

“I told him to leave because he's been sick several times Farrel! He's good only if you're there, Mom! Every day you want to watch TV do not want to help.”

“Oh. Keep watching TV? Not back?” Asked Yusuf in a cynical tone.

Nina's face looked nervous.

“Yusuf, cook Yes Nina lied,” sahut mother-in-law defending her son.

“Already, don't slap. You want to know what makes me suspicious?”

Nina glared despite the truth, but she did not accept being accused by her husband.

“Mendiang my wife taught Nafi all things about housework. How to cook, arrange kitchen furniture, fold clothes and bed linen. Everything was. Because of his illness, he taught Nafi to be able to take care of his father.”

Joseph went to his room, opened the closet and took 2 pieces of his clothes and Nina's clothes.

Throw it on the couch.

“Fold!”

“Mas!”

“Fold!”

Halfheartedly Nina folded, condemning why as long as Nafisa did she did not notice.

Yusuf smiled wryly at how originally Nina folded.

“Since Nafisa is gone, this house is chaotic. Don't think because coming home once a week I don't pay attention to what's going on. I had set aside my guess, because you guys seemed familiar every time I came home. It turns out it was all your theatrics. The house is very messy since Nafi left, I suspect you guys have been careless towards my son.”

Nina's teeth grinding, “Your accusation is without basis.”

“One more. This afternoon before going to the police station, I was called to the office security headquarters. I just found out that the middle room and kitchen of this house are equipped with CCTV by the company. It hurts what I saw earlier.”

Nina and her mother's face turned pale.

“How you and Mamah treat Nafisa is very necessary. I'm really sorry to have you in this house.”

Nina slapped Yusuf.

“Job you, Mas. Dayyuts!”

Suddenly someone knocked on the door.

“Royal Police, open the door!”

Joseph opened the door hoping they would bring Nafisa home to him.

“Nafisa!” Yusuf was disappointed to find only a few officers standing before him.

“Good day, Mr. Cik. We need to talk to Mr. Cik's wife.”

Netra Nina was wide-eyed, she took a few steps back.

Astonishment, Yusuf asked, “What's up, sir?”

“Capture him and his mother!” Commandant of the Royal Police.

Nina and her mother were strangled and tried to escape through the back door, but they were already surrounded.

A policewoman took Farrel from her grandmother and handed him over to Yusuf who still did not understand the matter.

“Wait, what is the fault of my wife and in-laws?”

The commander explained, “We re-interrogated the gym teacher who last saw Nafisa. He eventually claimed to be part of the loss of Nafisa on the orders of your wife and in-laws. The proof we have already held.”

Nina yells, “Long! All lies! I couldn't have done that to Nafisa. Mas, help me! Don't trust them!”

Joseph's throat was choked, his body trembling in anger.

“Where is Nafisa now?” Ask expectantly.

“We have bagged the name of one family who kidnapped Nafisa, but until now they have not been found. We ... we have not found Nafisa. Follow us to the office there the evidence has been collected.”

“Mas, No, Mas. This is all a misunderstanding. Mama and I loved Nafisa!” Nina's screams were futile, not accepting her handcuffed.

“Bring them!” Commander's orders.

Nina and her mother continued to thrash. Joseph silently stared at Farrel who was crying in his arms.

“Mas! Helpme! This is all Mamah told you.”

“Silence, Nina! Basic kid doesn't know it's lucky!”

“Mas, I forced Mamah to do this!” Shouted Nina again.

“NINA! SILENCE!” Nina's mother snapped and then struggled to hit her daughter but was successfully detained by officers.

If you do not remember Farrel in his arms, Joseph must have fallen in shock.

***

Joseph looked at Nina and her mother, who was wearing a prisoner's shirt.

Their stern rebuttal was broken with the testimony of a sports teacher who told Nafisa to take a volleyball to the warehouse. Nina was the one who ordered the abduction of Nafisa.

The gym teacher then contacted Abduh who acted with Nur and Zura. To make it seem as if Nafisa had run away, they had Zura put on Nafisa's uniform and get out the back door and then board a public vehicle.

Abduh is a neighbor in the village who needs money to free his eldest son from prison. Salman, his eldest son, is accused of stealing from his place of work.

Although Abduh is not a criminal, but for the sake of freeing Salman, he immediately agreed.

In addition to Abduh, the teacher also worked with one of the security guards to delete the CCTV footage when Nafisa was carried in a state of sleep.

The proof of payment Nina made through her mother's account was also clear. At first, she said that this was all her mother's doing.

Unwilling to bear the consequences of being alone, the Mother listened to the footage made with her son as they conspired for Nafisa to walk away from their lives.

Joseph listened to how cruel his wife and mother-in-law were.

Regrets hit me hard. Yusuf knows Nina who works at one of the company's partners. The hijab-wearing woman looked polite and loving. Someone she hopes to become a surrogate mother for Nafisa.

The prison door opened. Nina and her mother stepped out.

“Mas, title Farrel. He's your son too,” Nina said briefly before being herded into a car that would take them to the detention house.

“Nin, why?” Desperate and disappointed, Joseph ventured to ask.

Cynic, Nina replied, “My mother and I hate Nafisa so much. I hope he's dead or sold into prostitution.”

Joseph jerked. He stared from behind as his wife and in-laws walked out of the police station and boarded the prisoner's car.

The commander approached and said, “I believe Nafisa is still alive. If Mr. Cik's daughter is dead, surely his body will be found.”

Joseph could not digest the Commander's words. His heart was too sad to think about the fate of Nafisa.

The commander stood before Joseph. Looking at Farrel's sleeping face in the sling, the Commander said again, “If I were you, I would check the DNA of this boy. Sorry if I sassy.”

Reflexes, Yusuf looked at the look on Farrel's face that did not bear any resemblance to him.

He and Nina have Malay facial lines, while Farrel has a sharp nose and turning eyes.

Her in-laws always said that Nina's father was of Indian descent and Joseph immediately believed.

Fucked up, Yusuf picked up a baby bag and walked out of the police station. Nafisa is gone because of her stepmother and step-om. Farrel is not necessarily his flesh blood. The family who knew his daughter's whereabouts has not yet been found.

Thought garbled.

Yusuf crossed the road to a parked car across from the police station. Too late in thought, the man did not see that a car was passing fast. Hard collisions are inevitable.

Joseph bounced with baby Farrel.

In the prisoner's car, Nina screamed loudly to see her husband and baby thrown and then sprawled on the road. Fresh blood flowed from under Joseph's head.

Several police officers and clinic doctors who happened to see the incident immediately rushed to provide help.

Nina and her mother were screaming but the door of the prisoner's car was still locked.

For the sake of humanity, the Commander allowed Nina to approach. He and his mother ran to Joseph and Farrell.

The doctor checked on Yusuf and baby Farrel.

Nina roared at the condition of her husband and baby. Commander opens the handcuffs.

“Buying your baby, don't try to do anything.”

Nina nodded, impatiently holding Farrel.

The doctor handed in while saying, “Your baby is safe, Mom. Looks like your husband caught her. But we'll still take her to the hospital for a check-up. Mother's husband's condition is critical because his head was stung hard onto the asphalt and had to be operated quickly to stop the bleeding.”

Medics helped her husband get into the ambulance.

“Allow me, accompany my husband and baby Sir,” please Nina to the Commander.

“No! Now back to the prisoner car.”

“I beg you, Sir. My husband and baby were not waiting. I have no other family.”

“We will take care of it. The condition of the mother's baby is still much better than her brother's whereabouts are unknown. Quickly return to the prisoner car!” Tell the commander in a cold tone and then lead Nina and her mother.

Nina's stunned.

“This is my crime reply to Nafisa? My baby is alone and helpless. My husband is between life and death.”

***

At the same time as Joseph was in an accident, a group of girls were busy working in the kitchen.

They chatted and joked familiarly while chopping vegetables for dinner preparation.

“Aaaah!” Nafisa's scream shocked her friends.

“My hand got a knife.” Red blood flowed from the tip of the index finger.

“Sini, Brother Salsa, I help clean the boiled water,” said Dimi who swiftly took the basin and thermos.

The grimacing breath held the pain.

Sandra who was two years older but her body was smaller than Nafisa approached.

“Ighfar, Deck. Although you do not remember where and who your parents are, but in the Lord your prayers are answered. God will take care of them.”

“In shaa Allah, Brother. If so Salsa permission to pray for a while, yes.” Nafisa walked towards the prayer room not far from the kitchen.

Suddenly Nafisa stopped and was stunned.

“My name is Nafisa. Sis, I remember, my name is Nafisa.”

“Alhamdulillah ..” Sahut friends Nafisa together.

They are concerned that Nafisa cannot remember her past. Although each lives without parents and at least the faces of their fathers and mothers are still attached to the mind.

“Padahat we are also happy to call you Salsabila loh. The name chosen by Dimi for you,” chirps one of the little girls with a smile. Come feel the relief of Nafisa.

“Nothing. So my name is Nafisa Salsabila. I'll talk to Ms. Reni to make the letters. I permit prayer first, brother. All in thanks.”

Nafisa's face now looks more cheerful because it managed to remember her name. He likes the name Salsabila but it feels more fitting Nafisa.

Since Nafisa arrived at the home, Ms. Reni immediately reported to the police. Worried that Nafisa is a kidnap victim. The missing memory makes it difficult for police to find information about Nafisa.

Nafisa's photo has been disseminated but its physical characteristics do not match the reports of missing children in Indonesia. Because Nafisa also does not have a Malay accent, the search is not spread to neighboring countries.

Finally after a long time without a bright spot, Nafisa resigned and accepted the fact that maybe he was indeed dumped by his family.

Their home is located in a remote location. Surrounding it are hills and valleys. The road in front of the home is an alternative road that has rarely been passed by vehicles since trans Sumatra was completed.

The house is inhabited by twelve girls who are almost the same age. Although not so big but Ms. Reni menantaa comfortably. Of course, assisted by small hands who already consider her as a surrogate mother.

They live off of Bu Reni's salary as a high school teacher, helped by small pastry trades at the night market in the village next door. Alternately, children guard the stalls if there is no schoolwork.

Children of living institutions. Occasionally there is a fight but soon it has been made up again.

That afternoon, Nafisa was about to expel the unrest that continued to cover her heart and mind.

After taking ablution Nafisa used a mukena obtained from a quality used goods bazaar a few days ago.

Despite coming to the orphanage without any inherent memory, Nafisa is grateful she did not forget the reading and prayer. Somehow he felt there was someone who advised not to leave the prayer.

After saying hello, Nafisa bermunjat,” O Allah the Greatest, thank you because I can remember the name. Take care of me, God. I fear. Take care of my parents, too, God, love them. Let me meet them again, O God. Aamiin..”.

A crystal flowed down his cheek.

The sisters Sandra and Naima approached. They are worried about the state of Nafisa so wait for him to finish praying.

“Dek ..” Sapa Sandra from behind.

Nafisa. Naima, the younger sister, instantly shifted and hugged.

“The path of our lives is not normal, but we must be strong and be good people,” said Sandra to strengthen Nafisa, herself, and Naima.

Nafisa nodded in agreement, in her heart like she had heard someone giving the same advice, yet she could not remember.

Sandra continued, “So I understand how you feel. You want to know how Brother and Naima got here?”

Now the three teenage girls are sitting leaning against the wall facing the window. Rows of hills and valleys spoil the eyes. The clouds down and thicken making the atmosphere more beautiful.

“That day, Brother Sandra and Naima invited father and mother to the market. We joke on the journey. Mother sat with us in the back. Dad pretended to be his driver.”

Naima's breath was heard.

“We are so happy anyway, sister. Dad said we want to buy new clothes,” continued Naika with a voice vibrating with sadness.

Sandra continued, “Before entering the market, father and mother asked us to buy cookies at the subscription store while they waited in the car. When we got out, the car wasn't there. Hours we waited in store before finally searching them up to market.”

Sandra's voice sounded choked.

Nafisa then clasped Sandra and Naima's hands, feeling their pain.

“We can't go home because our house is far away on the hill. The cost of riding a vehicle also does not have. Finally a good man brought him home. When we got home, there was someone else there. He said the house had been sold and they were the ones living there.”

Tears dripped from the netra of Sandra and Naima.

Because Sandra was unable to continue, Naima continued her sister's story.

“For a few days we accommodated in the house of uncle and aunt. But they also live mediocre, finally we are entrusted here. Every day we wait for dad and mom to come to pick up.”

“It's been five years and we're still here,” concluded Sandra withstanding disappointment.

“We all here have stories. And of course all sad,” replied Lely approved by other children who finally joined. They sit close together in the prayer room.

Nafisa wiped her tears. His face turned full of determination.

“Already, I don't want to think sad. Anyway, I want to learn a pinter so I can be independent. Betewe kemas pas nemenin Bu Reni, I heard this song at the night market. Good lyrics. I installed, yes.”

Nafisa's small hand grabbed the rape rame-rame that Bu Reni had provided on the small table. A old-fashioned hape from the breech of his brother but has contributed a lot to entertain the children of the orphanage.

“If it's not wrong to sing Oom Virgoun. The Title When You Have Understood.”

Guitar strains are heard from speaker hape that is always sullen if issued a high tone. The soft melodious Sura chanted lyrics that made almost all children shed tears.

When my little snapsbreak your heart.Harder than that. The world judges you.I shaped you intoyou are today. You must be STRONG.You gotta be GREAT.HEART GEM...

“Only if we do not have a clash of father or mother, yes ..” Said Lely smiling slickly, his eyes glare into the hills.

Dimi said softly, “I want to, yelled at father or mother. Once at a time, just let me know they're near me.”

With her eyes closed, Nafisa listened to the lyrics that touched her heart.

Nafisa sighed then said, “Gaes, let's promise ourselves that we must BE STRONG, we must BE GREAT!”

“Ya right. We will support each other and always help each other. Follow me; we, the children of the home of Bu Reni promised, will always be strong and be great,” exclaimed Sandra, like getting a new spirit.

Nafisa immediately stood up followed by friends. They made a promise full of hope and enthusiasm.

Secretly Bu Reni was moved by the spirit of the children she nurtured.

“Mother will try your hardest to make you a useful person in the future,” murmured with a smile.

“We're STRONG! We're GREAT!” Nafisa cried enthusiastically welcoming the future followed by the cheers of her friends.

A man was lying with poor wires running across his body.

No relatives visited because Joseph did not include the names of relatives in emergency contact. The embassy is also still looking for relatives in Indonesia.

It has been a week since the operation was carried out and Yusuf has not been aware.

News of the case of a stepmother who was behind the kidnapping of her stepson went viral in Malaysia. Unfortunately, the news did not reach Indonesia.

The insurance company did not cover the cost because Joseph proved negligent when crossing the road. But the driver was not separated from the error because the speed of the car was above the allowable limit.

The hospital started to fall because Yusuf was not a local who was guaranteed his health by the government. They are in talks with the Indonesian embassy to determine the best course of action for Yusuf.

Doctors were discussing Joseph's condition with health workers when a half-aged man wearing a suit approached and several bodyguards were present.

“Good day, I am Sheikh Rashedi. I will bear all the medical expenses of Mr. Yusuf. My men are also asking for permission from his wife who is still in prison to bring patients home with me to Dubai.”

The doctor and nurse looked in wonder.

“Sorry, but this Sheikh is ready Mr Yusuf?”

“I hit him. I am a diplomat and have diplomatic immunity. But as a form of responsibility, I will take it home and give the best care there.”

“If you have received a license from your wife, we will release the patient. Kasian, there has been no news of relatives from Indonesia. His eldest son was lost because of the actions of his stepmother,” said the Doctor while observing the condition of Joseph who was still critical.

“How about the baby?” Ask the Sheikh again.

A nurse replied, “Alhamdulillah Baby Farrel is in good condition. It's just that it turns out after DNA examination he's not the son of Mr. Yusuf.“

Sheikh stunned. His eyes fixed on Joseph who still looked weak helpless.

“This week I have deployed my men to search for his missing daughter. Even to Indonesia. We believe his daughter is still alive. Poor Mr. Yusuf was bullied by his wife.”

The doctor and nurse stared at me.

Lirih Sheikh again asked, “Then where is Farrel's baby now?”

“It's been put into an orphanage. In cases like this the government will find a foster family rather than uniting with his mother in prison.”

A man approached the Sheikh and whispered.

After hearing the reports of his men, Sheikh said to the doctor, “Assistant I am seeing his wife. I will wait outside, if I have permission, tonight I will send Mr. Joseph to Dubai.”

Nina looked at the Arab man in front of her who offered her a license to take Yusuf to Dubai for medical treatment.

Nina's eyes are swollen from crying and thinking about the condition of her son, mother, and husband.

Absolutely unexpected, the plan to get rid of Nafisa from their lives was fatal.

“How is my baby's condition?”

“Sorry, madam, I don't know. So how, do you allow?”

“Who will pay for my husband's care fee?”

“If you agree, then Sheikh Rashedi will pay for everything. Including the cost of treatment in Malaysia. But if not, then you as the closest relatives will bear it.”

Nina grunts annoyed, “With what do I pay?”

His hand reached for the letter to be signed.

“If I can get divorced, I better take care of it. Because of him my baby is wretched,” he said while affixing his signature.

Not responding, the man had saved the file.

“You want to see the condition of the husband? I play the video.”

“Ndon't need. Just take it quickly, later I ask how to take care of divorce with the warden.”

“I'm sorry, Madam.”

The man nodded politely then stood up and walked away from Nina.

On the doorstep he stopped, “I thought, the cause of your husband and baby's woe is not Mr. Joseph. The root of this problem is you and your mother. Try to repent while you are here.”

“Cih! Know what! I hope that boy named Nafisa is being tortured now wherever he is.”

“As far as you are, I just reminded. One more, often the prayer is turned on the one who prays. Excuse me.”

That night, Yusuf was taken on a private plane complete with doctors and nurses from Dubai.

Sheikh Rashedi looked at his face.

“I'm sorry, Son. The two things I promised myself were to make you heal and find your son.”

The most senior assistant standing next to Sheikh then said, “Our men have not been given any clue of Abduh's family. He knows best where Nafisa is now. Nina just had Abduh kidnap but it looks like Abduh has other plans.”

“Abducting then want to flap?”

“Entahlah. What is clear is that Abduh and his family disappeared into the earth after freeing Salman their eldest son.”

“I'm afraid Nafisa was brought to Indonesia. The country is very wide, there are still many remote areas.”

Sheikh laughed then continued, “Continue searching, whatever the cost is not a problem. You know it. I'll focus on Yusuf.”'s recovery

“Siap, run, Sheikh.”
