Sonia asked Kai.
"Is that true? Liona's gone?"
Kai replied with a slight sigh.
"Yes." Yeah."
For Sonia who had been in the adventurer Guild for a long time. Liona's death was enough to shock her, let alone her knowing as skilled as what Liona had been all along.
There should be nothing to wire, given how strong Liona is. Even so, the wisdom to always look for the right opponent, should provide a chance to live longer.
Then why? Liona left and Kai survived? It gave some big question marks in Sonia's mind.
Many things are considered, both the easy and the wildest. But the fact that Liona is gone, gives enough encouragement for Sonia to be able to return her own consciousness to reality.
There is no point in remembering the bitterness, if it is not learned.
His work as an observer sometimes grows a kind of bond in the person he observes. Maybe, because some things and in addition often extracted with the target, making Sonia have a little sense of familiarity with it.
So he started asking Kai.
"Where should I go to see his burial place? I'd at least like to give you some bouquets. "
Sonia's eyes narrowed as she showed an expression of sadness. Along with a slow tone of voice like showing the deepest depths of the heart.
However, the answer given was never expected Sonia before. An answer he didn't realize would come from Kai.
It was as if disrupting the analysis he had built up all this time, and had to string together a new analysis.
And what Kai said was very clear and solid.
"Miss Sonia, you don't have the right to see Liona. So, please don't ask me that next time."
Clear and dense.
It was an answer that made Sonia start to strengthen her face and tightly grip the black uniform in hand.
For the first time, Kai showed his real face all along.
" I got it. Sorry to bother you, "Sonia said that while looking down a bit.
Then after Sonia put the uniform on the table, she asked Kai.
"That little girl, what happened to her?"
Kai sat in the chair and placed his right hand on his chin. His face looked blank now staring at the uniform on the table. Kai's eyes blinked a few times, then after that his eyeballs glanced towards Sonia.
The sweet face of a short-haired woman full of question marks, now looks right in Kai's purple pupils.
Next, in a soft voice Kai said.
"Did you know? The first time I met that little girl, she was killing a knight. The look in his eyes was without any doubt at all, as if he had gotten used to it."
"You mean?"
Hearing that, Kai closed his eyes. Then after taking a slow breath he continued.
"The girl was used to— rather used to killing. "
Sonia's eyes began to widen. The voice was short and slow, as if it had pierced the sense of hearing to the deepest point.
In Sonia's memories during her life in the world, she never thought that there would be someone who would be so willing to exploit girls that badly. They are very immoral and have no empathy at all.
"Miss Sonia, the little girl has been made into a toy. It is very clear that other children have them closed to make bets in the arena. They may have children killing each other for the sake of gambling games. And if girls grow up, we can probably guess what they're going to do. "
" Please stop, "Sonia is feeling uncomfortable.
His souls who could not accept cruelty beyond the limits of humanity, could not hold Sonia at all.
" I beg you, I don't want to imagine what you're saying. "
Sonia's eyes then became my eyes, and then turned into dead fish eyes. A blank look at reality, made Sonia unable to say anything.
The feeling of empathy as a woman, has spread throughout the body, from the tip of the foot to the tip of the hand.
Then he grabbed a chair in front of Kai, then sat on it. Sonia's hand held onto her hair, then looked down.
Wrinkles on the forehead and around the face are now forming.
With a tone full of anger, he muttered.
"They're demons, imperial knights are demons. No, the demons aren't even as cruel as them."
Seeing the sight, Kai then leaned over to the chair. His fingers tapped onto the table then started grabbing the black uniform and lifting it up.
Kai's gaze was full of interest, when he saw the symbols he did not recognize were on the collar and shoulders of the uniform he was holding. Then, He looked at Sonia to ask.
"Organization. Are they a bunch of people who have a strange sense of pride? Why is this uniform so flashy? If they want to run a secret mission, a uniform suitable for camouflage should be a good choice."
"That's probably the uniform that was given to you was the death uniform," Sonia replied without moving the slightest position of her body.
Sonia's mouth again said as she continued to stare downwards.
"Any member of the Organization who wears a special uniform, that means their target must die without exception. Or at least, the organization believes that their target is bound to die by the members."
Hearing that, Kai then put the uniform on the table and clenched both hands.
Next, Kai's gaze drew closer to the hand for then he asked.
"Talking about Organization, what are you going to do with that little girl?"
"The little girl will be sent to the orphanage, along with the children we saved. It is already the policy of the Organization, there are even divisions that are specifically in form to care for them. An organization is a group of good people who move for humanity, changing the world to eliminate evil. That's all I know. "
Hearing the words full of confidence under the face that looked desperate, made Kai behave strangely.
" —Ohh. I-i understand. So, you're enforcers of justice, a very noble cause."
"Yes, sure. All members of the organization move for that purpose."
Kai smelled sweet. His smile grew wider, until it almost looked scary, but then he stopped and showed a friendly expression.
A person's expression where he can show some kind of sincerity.
For Sonia to move for humanity is not an easy thing. It would be perfectly understandable how the Organization always moves in the shadows, selfless and unsung.
High pay may be a major factor for Sonia, but the organization's sincerity to help the weak has touched the hearts of many.
In fact, Sonia was convinced with certainty, many members of the organization joined not for money but purely for a sense of justice.
For example, education within the Organization does not view any social status. Both the rich merchant, the poor farmer, and the nobility, all aligned to gain the light of science. If all that kindness is not enough to move one's heart, then what else? At least those who claim to be human will be touched by kindness without asking for anything in return.
And for those who serve the Organization mostly move with a sincere heart. Sacrificing life for the sake of the organization would not be the slightest sort of doubt.
