The Last Path's
Gong Voice

After returning from the market, Dogma immediately made a chicken coop with the wood they had just bought. Now they have a pair of chickens, then they plan to buy two more pairs of chickens, so the eggs can be sold.

“Really Dogma is a reliable adult man.” Freya said in her heart.

It does not feel like making three chickens sometimes spend until dusk. Freya, aided by Pita, has prepared a makeshift dinner. They had a cheerful dinner. Tonight they were just talking about a new cage, the livestock they have and the future plan of how to get money to live, without offending a creature called Nightwalker.

Even though the night is late, Dogma is still awake. He recalls Acasha's talk about Evenstar. When Dogma disappeared, Evenstar was also sentenced for seducing a great God and betraying her husband.

No, not the punishment of the One or of any other god. In this world there are other laws that are impossible to avoid by any creature, anytime and anywhere. The most terrible law of nature is the law of karma. No creature can escape karma, the law of reciprocity made by the One perfectly without any loopholes.

Thousands of years ago, when Dogma for the first time did not come to keep his promise to Evenstar, every six days the Evenstar came to Acasha and asked about Dogma. This lasted for nine weeks. The next week Evenstar didn't come to see Acasha. Acasha assumes Evenstar has given up waiting for Dogma. However, the next day Evenstar came with a tearful face begging Acasha to let him stay at Acasha's house.

Out of pity, he allowed Evenstar to enter his home. But when Evenstar was about to climb the stairs acacia tree house Acasha, suddenly the leaves of this tree abort the leaves. The two of them were shocked to see that and Evenstar abandoned her intention to climb the acacia tree stairs.

"Even now the tree is against me." Evenstar said as she covered her face hiding her cries. Acasha understood there was something wrong with the human child. Acasha politely explained that the tree inhabited by the dryad will be a sacred tree that will not accept sinners to live on it.

“Tell me, what happened to you?” Acasha asked while giving Evenstar a drink, now they were sitting under an acacia tree.

“I'm guilty. I was dishonest to Dogma, and I betrayed my husband.”

"Husband?" Ask Acasha not.

“I'm married to someone, Danta's name is. He loves me so much, there's nothing wrong with him, I'm the sinful one. I am the one who is despicable.” While saying so Evenstar wiped away her tears.

“Really human heart is easily tarnished.” Acasha thought to herself, but at the same time she felt sympathy for Evenstar.

Acasha could only hug Evenstar to appease that selfish human heart. After calm, Evenstar told me that it turns out Danta knew his bad behavior all along.

Danta doesn't know what to do. If He rebukes Evenstar He must be ready for their separation, but He cannot act as if he does not know what has happened forever. After days of thoughts in his head, He decided to tell the truth He knew. Danta doesn't ask why Evenstar betrayed him, he doesn't know and really doesn't want to know.

One morning, it has been a few days that Danta who did not come home finally showed himself. Evenstar had prepared breakfast for the two of them.

“Honey, You know?” Danta looked at Evenstar for a moment then continued.

“The first time we had a fight and you ran into the forest, I followed you. When we don't fight and you go into the woods the next day I follow you. I know what you're doing there with no one.” Danta paused for a moment to catch his breath while looking at the Evenstar's reaction that looked paled in fear.

“My heart is broken seeing it. But I can't do anything. No, not that I can't do anything, I just don't want to do anything. Honey, I've been thinking about this for a few days. I'm gonna go. I won't blame you or do anything bad to you. Do we live in a Karma circle? I'll leave, if my heart is no longer here. Thank you and goodbye.” Without waiting for Evenstar's response, Dan picked up the bag he had prepared and walked away somewhere.

Evenstar was still stunned to learn that Danta knew what sin she had committed behind her husband. When he was able to regain control of himself, Danta was no longer in front of him. Evenstar tries to catch Danta as fast as he can, but Danta's shadow is no longer there. He begins to cry realizing his stupidity, his selfishness that wants Danta and Dogma together. No more desire to live in this house. Evenstar packed up with an easy-to-carry item, then left the house and decided to go to the Acasha tree to meet Dogma.

Hearing the story of Evenstar, he offers the man to live under his acacia tree. They build a simple gubug with the help of Acasha's powers to protect Evenstar from the wild animals and the cold of the night. Evenstar stayed in the cave waiting for the Dogma who never came with anxiety and regret until death to pick him up.

This is their third day living in the Phantasia kingdom. Sunny morning as usual, they do vegetables picking, catching fish, selling in the market like yesterday. But after lunch they heard a gong sound three times. Not knowing what it meant, they went out of the house and saw some people heading somewhere.

“Uncle, what does this gong sound mean?” Ask Dogma to someone passing by in front of their house. “Oh this is a sign that the kingdom is issuing an announcement. Usually the announcement of the name of the person will be made into an offering for Nightwalker on this full moon.” Answer their neighbor's uncle.

There were fifteen houses located on the edge of the valley, such as the house they occupied and also the house that Aunt Hini occupied.

“Dogma, let's also see, this is the first time for us. Maybe we can find some clues about the creature.” Freya's Proposal. Dogma agrees with Freya's proposal, Pati and Pita also go with them to the source of the sound.
