"I've lost to Rianti, I've lost" Sarah said with tears welling up her cheeks.
"Al, forgive mom! Forgive me for harboring hatred for your late mother, Rianti," said Sarah. "I should, I'm grateful that she gave birth to you and gave it to me, to take care of me."
Alvin turned around and walked back to his stepmother, a stepmother he loved like a real mother. Alvin sat on the edge of his mother's bed, he took her hand and kissed her.
"Mother, Al is so happy to hear you talk like this. You know, Al loves you so much, even if you're not a real mom, Al." Alvin kissed the back of his mother's hand many times.
"Mom loves you too, Al. Although all this time I've always tried to hate you and always think to make you suffer, but my little heart can't lie if I love you too" Sarah replied.
Sarah got up and sat down, stroking Alvin's head, which was now in her lap.
Nayla, who had wanted to go back into her mother-in-law's room, abandoned her intentions. He wanted to give an opportunity to the two people before him, to be able to express their hearts. Unknowingly, Nayla's tears also fell on her cheeks.
"Finally that cunning woman, penance as well," Nek Murti's voice was enough to make Nayla surprised. The sound was not so loud.
"Grandma," call Nayla. He immediately wiped the tears that were welling up on both of his cheeks.
"Why are you crying?" nek Murti asked his granddaughter-in-law. "No, Grandma. Nayla only remembered Nayla's two parents who were gone" replied Nayla.
"Your parents must be proud to have a daughter like you, who has always been strong in the face of life's trials" said Nek Murti.
"No, Grandma. I wouldn't have been this strong if it wasn't for Alvin, since I was a child he was the one who gave me courage" Nayla said. He even smiled when he said that.
"Since childhood?!" Nek Murti looked at Nayla questioningly.
Nayla replied with a nod, "Come, we'll just sit on the porch! I'll tell you the story of my meeting with Alvin first!" bring Nayla.
Nayla took Nek Murti to sit on the bench on the porch of the house. Before starting to tell the story, Nayla brought a cup of tea to Nek Murti.
"After my parents died, I was raised in an orphanage. That's where I met Alvin. He always comforts me when I'm sad, he will also give me courage when I'm scared and alone" Nayla said.
"The orphanage? So you met Alvin at the orphanage?" asked Nek Murti to convince him that what he heard was true.
Nek Murti knew that Nayla was an orphan and raised in an orphanage. But she never expected that Nayla and her granddaughter would meet and get to know each other in an orphanage, even since they were children.
"Yes, Grandma. Even before she left to go to school abroad, she promised me she would marry me when she came back from later. Even though we both never knew what the word marriage really meant. But we both agreed because we wanted to live together forever" Nayla told a long story.
"You're weird little kids, but Grandma's happy that you're my son-in-law's granddaughter" Nek Murti said. "Ohya, why are you able to stay in the orphanage? Aa you don't have any other outside?" ask Murti. He picked up the tea on the table and then sipped it.
"Come, Grandma. But what I remember before the accident that hit us and our family, my father invited me and my mother to meet someone" explained Nayla.
Flashbacks
That day, little Nayla was told to dress up by her mother. Even Nayla's mother purposely put on new clothes for her.
"Mom, why do I have to dress so beautifully?" ask Nayla to her mother.
"Darling, we'll soon meet your grandfather. So you should be able to look really pretty in front of grandpa,"
"Grandfather? So Nay has a grandpa Mother?" ask Nayla again.
"Yes, you have a grandfather from my father."
"Asik, I have a grandfather," cried Nayla excitedly. He even jumped on his bed.
"Let's go see Grandpa now!" take the father who just walked into his little daughter's room.
Nayla's father took out his motorbike from inside the house. After locking the door of the rented house, they immediately went up on the motorbike to get to where they meant to be.
After riding for about 30 minutes, Nayla's father stopped his bike right in front of a very luxurious and large house.
"Is this grandpa's house, Dad?" nayla asked while looking around.
"Yes, Son. This is your grandfather's house" replied the father.
"Mas, will your papa accept my presence and Nayla?" asked Nayla's mother to her husband, she asked him that question with a slight delay in her voice so as not to be heard by her daughter.
"It's been more than 5 years, I'm sure papa will accept your existence. Moreover, there is already Nayla's grandson," explained Nayla's father to his wife.
"Hopefully yes, my. I don't want Nayla to feel hurt if you can't accept it" Nayla's mother said.
"Don't worry, papa will definitely be able to accept the presence of you and Nayla" Nayla's father said to appease his wife.
"Darling, you were here first huh. Let Mother and Father come in first!" nayla's father exclaimed to little Nayla. Nayla just nodded in response to the father's word.
Nayla's parents entered the house.
"Do you want to come here?!" the sound reached Nayla's ears standing outside.
"Pa, I want to introduce my son to papa" replied Nayla's father.
"I don't want to have grandchildren from the poor!Get the fuck out of my house, now!" exclaimed grandfather Nayla with a snapping tone.
"Pa, I was wrong to have married Fitri without your blessing. But really, Pa. I never meant to hurt papa. Please, Pa! Please accept Fitri as your son-in-law and our daughter as your grandson!" pinta Vishnu to his father, even Vishnu willingly kneel before his father.
"Dad, don't kneel like that. Let's go!" Nayla, who had heard a scream from the inside, walked in and ran towards her father who was kneeling at the feet of a middle-aged man who was standing behind them.
"Let's get our dad going!" take Nayla with him while pulling his father's hand. "Dad, it's okay if Nay doesn't have a grandfather. The important thing is that Nay still has Father and Mother" Nayla added.
"Come, we're going! Maybe papa still needs time to accept me and Nayla!" bring Fitri to her husband.
Vishnu got up from his position on his knees earlier, "Dad, I say goodbye. Hopefully someday I will accept the existence of my wife and child," said Vishnu. "Goodbye dad."
Vishnu took his son and wife out of the mansion. Riding on their motorbikes, they left the courtyard of the mansion.
But something unexpected happens on their way home, the motorbike they drive is hit by a truck and makes both parents Nayla died at the location.
Flashback off
Nek Murti rubbed the back of his son-in-law's grandson, "Patience, son. There must be a silver lining, your parents are happy in nature."
"Yes, Grandma. I also remember Mother's message a few days before the accident occurred. Mother asked me to keep smiling no matter what our life would bring," Nayla's tears unraveled as she recalled her parents' messages.
Nek Murti pulls Nayla to give her a hug.
