Oddities

The return journey was made by Yu Jie towards the royal capital after the incident in the village where they had stopped by, the bodies of Yu Jie's sword victims were completely annihilated so as not to leave behind any traces that the first prince might be able to find.

Not only that, the villagers were also directed to shut their mouths and act as if nothing had happened there.

The identity of Xiang He as the princess was enough to smooth this out, plus many villagers saw for themselves the greatness of Yu Jie made most of them not dare to argue.

The journey itself was done on foot because Xiang He who could not force himself to fly with Yu Jie, was unable to do so, not to mention they could not pass the main route of the kingdom making the travel time until the capital took longer than it should.

Yu Jie avoided stopping at a place of some kind of settlement during the trip because the first prince had spread leaflets there, preventing the cultivator's interference without the sect from reappearing like before.

After about a full week of travel, Yu Jie finally reached the royal capital. The troublesome obstacles Yu Jie managed to prevent his appearance made the trip feel calmer than it should have been.

“Uncle Yang, my legs hurt," said Xiang He.

“Hold a little longer, Princess. The capital is near from here, it will be dangerous for us if there is a first prince who finds us when just stay there," explained Mu Yang trying to strengthen.

Yu Jie raised his eyebrows hearing their talk, almost always the journey never once he heard Xiang He complain and this was the first time.

Unlike Mu Yang who was also himself a cultivator, Xiang He was only an ordinary human so successfully withstanding the long journey all this time alone was already incredible.

“Do you guys want to take a break? If so then just do it, if those first princes appear let me take care of them," Yu Jie said, understanding Xiang He might already be at the peak of his fatigue.

“Oh .. no need, Young Master Jie. If the capital is near, then we continue until as soon as possible" Xiang He said with a quick sled.

“No need to force yourself, I know how much you suffered during this journey."

“No, I'm right it's okay. How shameless I've been asking for help but it's still often troublesome." Xiang He assured.

Yu Jie nodded slowly, it began to be clear what reason Xiang He had forced himself up until now which turned out to be because he did not want to trouble her.

“Fine," said Yu Jie.

Xiang He was fixated when Yu Jie suddenly bowed in front of him, like wanting to carry him but wanting to try Xiang He asked first fearing he misunderstood.

“What are you waiting for? Just go up, it's easy for me to carry you to the capital." Yu Jie was even before Xiang He spoke.

Xiang He heard this immediately stammered, there was something he wanted to convey but held on to his throat.

“Just go to his back, Princess. When else can you receive Young Master Jie's sincere kindness like this," whispered Mu Yang reassuringly as well as worried about Xiang He's condition.

Xiang He finally did what Yu Jie had in mind, happy that he no longer had to walk with sore feet but at the same time felt another suffering that might be more severe.

“No, why is my heart beating abnormally like this?" muttered Xiang He.

Yu Jie immediately stepped on his way with Xiang He on his back, not thinking too much about Xiang He's muttering as he had no intention of making Xiang He fall in love or anything like that.

“Is my good looks a mistake?" muttered Yu Jie hoping there was a message triggered by his pure arrogance.

“Sial, the system seems to refuse to acknowledge my good looks," continued Yu Jie because the message he expected did not come.

Not too long Yu Jie walked back, it was true that the lush trees on the side of the road began to decrease, which after that began to look towering city walls around a region that was clearly a city.

“At last we reached the royal capital," Mu Yang said as he led the way.

Xiang He saw that the city gate was near immediately asking to get down from Yu Jie's sling, Yu Jie said straight away because Xiang He should have had enough rest.

The three immediately approached the city gate where a lot of people came there, they queued because there was an examination done before being allowed to enter the city.

“We're going through a special entrance gate, Young Master Jie." Mu Yang while directing Yu Jie followed him.

They somewhat covered from the queue to enter the city that should be, towards the gate of a smaller city but seemed luxurious which was like devoted to the royal family as well as nobles who came there.

“Mr Princess arrives, quickly open the gate!!!" exclaim Mu Yang.

Several guards from above the wall immediately checked who was speaking, their faces looking shocked afterwards as if in disbelief.

“What are you waiting for? Get down and open the gate!!!" exclaim Mu Yang to each of those soldiers.

“Ba— well, General Yang!!!"

Quite a number of soldiers began to descend from the top of the wall to open the gate, somewhat unusual as two people alone should be enough to do so.

“Mr Princess, please." Mu Yang was not too confused.

Xiang He immediately stepped into the gate followed by Mu Yang as well as Yu Jie behind him, where the new city gate was closed suddenly there was another group of soldiers coming with their gallant horses from the direction of the city settlement.

Each horse seemed to be driven in a hurry, the one driving the horse at the front appeared to be wearing Mu Yang-like armor which Yu Jie could immediately guess who if the man.

“Mr Princess, welcome!!!" The group called out to salute them.

The one who led the entourage immediately down from the horse, his face looking resolute with a white beard long enough to show an aura of leadership.

“General Yang, glad to see you survived the journey."

Mu Yang immediately raised his eyebrows, the one who just spoke was Yuan Fao a general similar to him.

“General Fao, it may be a bit rude to ask that right after the arrival of the Princess," Mu Yang said rather displeased.

“Huahaha, it seems that you are a little sensitive, General Yang." Yuan Fao with a crisp laugh.

Yuan Fao immediately conveyed the intention of his arrival to pick up Xiang He to the palace, he received a message from his subordinates about the arrival of Xiang He so quickly came there.

“Then make sure the Princess gets to the palace safely, I trust her to you, General Fao." Mu Yang.

Xiang He himself immediately said goodbye to Yu Jie before leaving with Yuan Fao, looking so tired that Yu Jie could understand just in case Xiang He wanted to hurry to the palace to rest.

Yu Jie himself rather than worrying about Xiang He, was more curious about Yuan Fao's figure which he thought was full of weirdness. So that soon he approached Mu Yang to meet his curiosity.

“Hey, I want to ask."

“Ask what, Young Master Jie? What's your place in here related to?" Mu Yang made sure.

“Not, but are you sure the old man can be trusted?"

“Of course, he is the kingdom's strongest general. Although it was a bit annoying, but his loyalty was unquestionable," Mu Yang explained.

Yu Jie directly conveyed the strangeness he was aware of to Mu Yang, from starting the gate guard soldiers who seemed to be in disbelief when Xiang He came, until the speed of Yuan Fao's arrival was somewhat unreasonable as if it had indeed prepared to wait out of nowhere near there.

Mu Yang heard this immediately speechless, from the many guesses Yu Jie had, almost nothing missed so he was confused to have to trust Yu Jie or the strongest general of his kingdom.

“If you have a hard time believing, what if we just prove it?" Yu Jie with a grin grin grinned, staring meaningfully at the few guard soldiers who were indeed still there.
