Chapter 4: The Real Man

That day, my collar was pulled and I was slammed into a slash by the Dane. I tried to escape but, I couldn't do anything.

"It's a waste that you're breaking away from me. I'm not gonna beat you up, but I want to talk to you"

"can his speech be relaxed?. Even if you beat me up, you will be in vain because I will not fight back. I don't like fighting about it"

"Dane, let him go. I'll talk to him" Miko told him.

Dane let me go and I tidied my collar back and Miko pushed my shoulder to the wall.

"is this a hobby of pushing people to the wall ?" ask them.

"i don't care and I'm outspoken, stay away from Jane. Let Sanjaya get close to him. She's 2x more deserving than you by Jane's side" Miko told me.

The words offended me a little and looked at reality.

Actually, what Miko said is true....

I don't deserve to be on Cahya's side but....

I was his best friend....

The ones who decided I deserved it or not were Cahya, not them....

"thank you for the advice. But to be honest, I don't have any feelings for Jane. He was my best friend, he used to help me as my bench neighbor. No more than that. Cahya laughed in the company of Sanjaya who was joking beside her. But suddenly, Cahya picked up the phone in her bag which turned out, she called me.

"Hello Cahya, what's up ?"

"my food's gone, are we going to the next place ?"

I shut up for a moment and said to him

"don't you want to talk any longer with the class president ?"

"Our conversation is over, I'm waiting for you here Jaka. Come soon yaa ?"

"ok I'll catch up"

I was just about to get in but, Dane was holding my shoulder. I turned towards them and Miko smiled at me.

"You're Jaka's real man, thank you"

Don't say that to me...

You only say it because you want something from me....

I went back into the cage and paid for Cahya's food with me. But suddenly, Sanjaya brought herself closer to me.

"sorry I suspect you, I've heard the truth from Cahya"

"it's okay, Santuy"

We were awkward for a moment even Cahya seemed to not care about us and went straight out waiting while drinking tea bottle Sosro.

After receiving my change of money, I patted Sanjaya on the chest.

Sanjaya finally left kmi while I still think about the words Dane and Miko. The day was getting late, we continued our journey and finally arrived at the garden. I stopped my footsteps and it made Cahya's steps stop.

"What's Jaka doing ?"

Then we shut up while facing. I waited for the words from Cahya but, something I did not expect came out of her mouth.

"you're the same Miko, what was that ?"

"it's okay, it's just a normal conversation"

"you're deliberately going to bring me closer to Sanjaya ?"

I was surprised when he said that. I avoided his eye contact and told him.

"ti.no really. I just talked to Miko. We're sometimes familiar with it outside of school"

"Liar..."

I stopped talking as the dense and clear short word came out of his mouth.

I'm terrible at lying....

All this time, I wasn't good at lying.....

Cahya let out a heavy sigh and threw her bottle in the trash.

"So, I like someone" said Cahya to my surprise.

"Who ?"

"i don't want to tell you because you lied to me. Today I want to talk to you about him"

"I'm sorry, actually Dane kept me away from you guys and gave Sanjaya a chance to talk to you"

I really am the worst.....

I shouldn't have lied to Cahya.....

Cahya held my hand and smiled at me.

"it's okay. Jaka is my best friend. Next time don't do that ?"

"yes, I promise Cahya" I'll give her back.

And finally we parted in the garden.

At nightfall, I lay in my bed and honestly I thought of the man Cahya liked

Who is he really ?.

It was only fitting that he had rejected some men all along....

Apparently, he put feelings to others ?

At the thought of that, the Line from Cahya entered. And he sent us a picture of the two of us during the walk with a cute edit attached to the photo. Next he sent me a message

"it's fun to go on a date with Jaka, next time we do it again huha ?. I will fulfill my memories in Indonesia before heading to Greenland again"

I seem to be worried about something free

"yes, I'll take you to another interesting place after this"

Our conversation ended there. Whoever Cahya likes, I will support her. As a good friend Cahya hoped for, I cannot be carried away.

I'll give him good memories here so that when he gets to Greenland, he'll share his experiences with the people he loves.
