The Frost Heart

Training part 2

In the midst of that meditation, Jack and Dian were in a boundless darkness and without even light. The place was a part of themselves that was empty with magic energy. They were there alone, feeling a cold feeling there as well.

Jack then opened his eyes and noticed the darkness around him. He felt that familiar with this place, like he had been here before. While trying to remember the events of the past, Jack's body felt a gust of cold wind from in front of him. So that Jack's focus becomes towards the front, where there is a blue light point. The spot was so striking in the middle of that darkness, that it was easy to spot.

"That..is...my man."

Jack was stunned for a moment when he saw that point. That's the least of Jack's mana. The feeling when looking at that point was cold and void. There was no warmth in it, only 2 things that were felt by Jack.

Jack remembers Mary's instructions, where Jack must approach the points of light to the center when he finds them. Jack followed Mary's instructions.

Slowly but surely, Jack continued to approach those points of light. There are no obstacles at all when approaching it, until an incident occurs.

ZATT!!!!

"Aah!!!" Jack is pushed back when he's blocked by something unknown.

Jack doesn't know what it is. But Jack felt like he had been struck by electricity as he approached that point of light.

"What's going on?" Jack wondered.

Jack then tried to extend his hand forward and at that moment, he was struck by electricity hundreds of volts of unknown origin. Jack screamed in pain as the electricity grabbed his body. The pain is so great that it forces Jack back into the real world.

"Ughhh!!!" Jack was writhing in pain while writhing on the ground.

"You okay?" Mary checked Jack's body.

It took Jack some time to calm down from the pain and it was in that quiet moment that Mary asked.

"Why did you just stir up the pain?"

Jack exhaled and calmed his mind. Jack sees his friend, Dian who is calm in his meditation.

"Hey, Mary. Does the process sense where to be struck by electricity a few hundred volts?"

Mary frowned. He seems confused by Jack's strange question.

"There should be nothing strange when the process of sensing mana takes place. Precisely you're going to migraine because it's so hard to find your own mana points."

"Mary, you know what? I've found those points."

When Jack told her what had happened, Mary widened her eyes and covered her mouth with her hands. He was shocked by Jack's confession.

"really?! You're not kidding, are you?! Feel where it could spend a week! That's if you belong to a genius child in magic. That's not possible..." Mary shakes her head, hoping it will never happen.

"But the truth is, I've found those points. But there was something like stopping me from getting close to that light. And the obstacle is no kidding, a few volts of electricity that's excruciating."

Mary, in disbelief, touches Jack's forehead. It was a way to check whether or not it was in the body being touched. He was really surprised after examining Jack's body where there was a spot of magic with a small amount.

He was one step away from getting his own mana, but Jack said that he could not get close to his mana points because it was blocked by something.

"Your case I've never heard of. You are talented, but you say there is an obstacle to bringing out your talent potential. You better go back and try it a few times and who knows you got close to that light.

Jack nodded and did his meditation once more. And a few minutes later, he again wriggled in pain and wriggled on the ground. That incident happened again.

"Damn, it hurts so much." Jack, while Mary frowned.

"Is it true there are no symptoms when exercise feels where?" In a sleeping position, Jack asked Mary.

"You're not messing around, are you? There is no such thing as pain at all when the exercise feels mana. Are you really lying?"

Jack then woke up from his sleeping position with a face with pain.

"I said what it is. The electricity was bothering me to approach my own mana point. Like that I was forbidden in my body to feel my own mana."

Mary took a breath. He was completely confused by Jack's strangeness.

"I've never heard of anyone who feels pain when he feels his own mana. If anything, maybe he's just kidding."

"I said what it is!" Jack insists that he is not kidding.

"I believe you're not lying. Look from your stressed face..."

Mary also thinks of the right solution to Jack's problem. Jack looked back at his friend who was so calm in his meditation, like flowing urine. Jack was a little curious about what was going on in his meditation. Is it the same as him or different?

"I will ask my teachers. Maybe they found out about your problem."

Mary decided to ask her teachers at the academy first.

A few moments later,

"Well...." Dian exhaled her breath as she opened her eyes and ended her meditation.

"It's not easy to find which points yourself..." Dian Muttered.

Dian was not disappointed with the results because she had been told by Mary that feeling mana took 2 to 3 weeks and for a genius in magic, it only took a week to feel it.

"Welcome back, Dian..."

A greeting voice sounded on Dian's right side. Dian immediately looked to the right and saw Jack sitting on the root of a tree protruding from the ground.

"Oh, hi Jack. Are you conscious?"

"I've been conscious for a long time. By the way, how were you in that darkness?"

Without further ado, Jack immediately asked Dian's state when meditating.

"Ehm, it feels dark and cold. I was there feeling stressed from going around in the dark and not finding those spots. The darkness is driving me crazy..."

Dian ruffled her hair, like being depressed with something bad.

"So, why are you asking like that?"

Jack then explains the situation of himself who has found the point, but is blocked by electricity curse that is not clear of origin and attacks Jack brutally.

"Eh! You've found your own mana points, but it's blocked by electricity that doesn't seem to let you get anywhere near those points of light?"

Jack nodded.

"Damn you Jack! You're really talented..." Dian then embraced Jack while laughing.

"Ah, I still can't get close to my own mana, because of the electrical barrier."

"But you've found your own spots. Look at me, I'm not sure if I have my own spots or not?"

Then Dian removed her embrace from Jack and looked around, like she was looking for something.

"Where is that pretty teacher?"

"He was washing his face in the river. Ah, he's back..." When Jack spoke, Mary came from the river.

Mary immediately looked at Dian who had just woken up from her meditation.

"Oh, you just realized, dad?"

"Yes, just now..." Jack replied with a grimace.

"Well, with Dian waking up means we're going to end our lesson on magic. Day also wants night."

Mary ended her magic lesson and looked around where it was going to be dark. Jack and Dian stand up and are about to go to their house, but are held captive by Mary.

"Before you guys get home, I want to tell you something about getting into Rakuen Academy..."

Because Jack and Dian wanted to get into Rakuen's academy, so they were interested in what Mary was going to say and stayed in the forest there for a while.

"I remember to enter the Rakuen academy, it required administrative fees and there had to be important documents. One of those important documents was the basic magic graduation certificate. That's definitely not what you guys have, is it?"

Jack and Dian nodded at the same time.

"The basic magic graduation certificate was obtained from the Elementary School of Magic and it is already impossible for you, because actually magic elementary school is intended for children between 10 to 12 years old and study 3 years to get the graduation certificate."

"So, the point is we can't get into Rakuen's academy without a graduation certificate, can we?" Jack started to mean the direction Mary was talking.

"Right, that's impossible." Said Mary while staring at the reaction of Dian and Jack.

Dian and Jack's reaction was lethargic upon hearing that fact. Seeing that, Mary smiled and said, "To get a certificate from the Magic Elementary School is impossible. But there's actually another way to get that certificate without getting into Magic Elementary School."

""really?!"" Jack and Dian were happy when they heard that.

"Right, and that way is you have to follow a study program made by the government. The name of the learning program is Smart Dracvale Program or abbreviated SDP. It is a program intended for people who have not had time to enter school and want to get the graduation certificate. It's your chance to get that certificate, and it'll be done this month."

"Well, it won't matter..." Jack said with a smile.
