Chapter 2

The night was getting late and it was almost midnight, Ana saw the clock attached to the wall already showed at 11 pm.

Anastasia breathed out slowly, she had finally finished working for today, her body already felt so tired with this event that many people attended. The sheer number of requests the conglomerates wanted left Ana a little overwhelmed on her first day of work, there was a feeling of fear if she made a mistake and made one of them angry. "I've finished everything Ryn, is it okay for me to go home first?" asked Ana to a senior who had helped her.

"Of course Ana, be careful on the road, I'm waiting for my husband to pick me up" Mauryn replied with a gentle smile.

Ana returned the smile, she quickly picked up the bag and rushed home. Just as Anna turned towards the exit, a man was standing behind her, a small coughing sound and faint movements made by the man could be heard. "Ana" the man murmured quietly but Ana could still hear him.

"Yes? I'm sorry, sir, did you call me?" ask Ana carefully.

"You Ana? Anastasia?" said the man while turning his body.

How shocked Anastasia was by what she saw at this moment, it was true that the man she had met was Nicholas, the man who had filled her heart yet she just left without any news. Withstanding the tears that wanted to come out of his eyes, Nicholas looked very different from what he used to be. The man now looked a little arrogant as well as loud. There was no longer the gentle gaze that Nicholas used to give Anastasia.

"It's nice to meet you here" said Nicholas with a slanted smile that appeared to mock him.

Anastasia tried to give herself peace of mind when she heard Nicholas' voice that now sounded very rough in her ear making Anastasia afraid. He does not recognize the man in front of him now, everything is different or more precisely reversed.

"Mrs. Nicholas is happy to see you again" Anastasia said as she tried to smile kindly. The wheel of life is spinning, Ana must be more polite to the figure of Nick who is now.

The man raised next to his eyebrows and laughed sinisterly upon hearing Anastasia's remark. Only hatred and resentment are now visible from the eyes of the man. "I'm so happy that you still remember me. Yes, even though our meeting used to be very ineffective," Nicholas said with a mocking laugh.

Hearing that somehow Anastasia felt such tremendous pain, for Nicholas the encounter with her was very unimpressed, but for Anastasia his encounter with Nicholas was very memorable. He was very happy with Nicholas even though their relationship could only last three months. "Yes, of course I still remember you," Anastasia said, throwing away her face from the stern gaze given by the man in front of her. Ana once hoped to meet Nick again, hugged the man and told him everything that had happened to him now. But hope only remains hope, Nick figure like this is already too difficult for Ana reach.

Suddenly Anastasia felt that if her body was no longer strong enough to stand up, she subconsciously dropped her body before Nicholas. However, Nicholas swiftly grabbed Anastasia's hand and helped her not to fall. "Why did your hand instantly become so rough like this? how long have you been working?" the question made Ana feel the man's concern, but at the next second Ana felt the man's hatred again. "When your hands used to feel so soft like silk" Nick said.

Anastasia who felt very strong listening to the abuse and insults given by Nicholas finally decided to strengthen herself and leave the man.
