The Eastern Continent Swordsman

The Eastern Continent Swordsman
CH. 57 – Stories of the Mother Lion

No one would have thought, if there was a village that was quite crowded in the stomach of Caihong cliff. If one has ever seen a termite house chunk, such is also the appearance of the Night village. A place that is in the ground, with holes lined up and jutting inward. The holes are none other than the houses built by prying the rocks of the cliff and create space in it.

Uniquely, these holes are not lined horizontally only but also vertically. There were at least three holes lined up and about fifty holes lined up horizontally. Each is located on the right and left sides of a main road axis which is the only straight road in the village of Malam.

The main road has two ends. At the far left there is a statue of a statue surrounded by oval round stone fences. The statue is an important figure who has built the village of Night for the first time. Right behind the statue there is a cave door which is one of the entrance and entry of the Night villagers to the outside world.

While at the end of the axis of the right side of the road, there is a giant hole twenty meters high with a diameter of ten meters. The giant hole directly facing the free sea, from the hole also a beam of sunlight entered and gave a dim light inside the Night village. Fresh wind brought from the high sea also back and forth entered the village hallway Night until the village remains comfortable to live in despite being in the bowels of the earth.

When he had just set foot into the Night village, precisely on the back of the hero statue, Yang Zi closed both palms to his mouth. The shadow about the Night village turned out to be completely different from the one on his head.

“Are my eyes not well?” now, the girl rubbed her two eyes hard, in fact the view in front of her did not change at all.

“I don't think there's a settlement like this inside the cliff,” now it's Zhou Fu's astonished turn.

In Yang Zi's wishful thinking, a settlement that was inside the belly of a cliff must have a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere to look at. After all, what a beauty it is to live in a dark cave passage that has no source of lighting. However, Yang Zi's assumption soon changed when her eyes caught a sweet sight of green moss and multicolored flowers dotting the entire edge of the cave.

In the door of the cave-shaped house, made curtains dangling from top to bottom made from plant ropes decorated by land snails. Each yard of the house is only a meter and a half with a road shaft, filled with gravel arranged in such an aesthetic and interesting way, forming an abstract painting that is quite pleasant to look at.

“I told you, big brother will definitely love our village,” Yuan Jin smiled cheerfully. He then jumped over the stone fences surrounding the hero statue.

The statue stands with his left hand holding a scale. The weights on the right and left sides look very parallel. Meanwhile, on the right hand of the statue, there is a round flat metal that seems to be made of brass. Yuan Jin took out a bat on one side of the scales, then struck the object three times onto the flat metal in the hero's right hand.

It was a call to all the villagers of Malam. A call containing important but harmless information. Some people started to emerge from the holes of the house. The sound of rustling conch shells colliding with each other because it was revealed by its owner, in fact, raises a harmonious sound that is very comfortable to hear.

The people walked in a little hurry, they didn't seem to hear the sound of the announcement so often. One by one the villagers of Malam began to approach at the end of the six-meter-wide road shaft. Yuan Jin jumped out of the stone fence, asking Zhou Fu and Yang Zi to stand on the right and left sides.

There were about ninety citizens present, strangely enough, they all bowed in salute to Yuan Jin who was still quite young. As if, Yuan Jin was a figure that they should respect with all their souls.

“Elder, what happened to the Elder's arm? And who are these handsome young gentlemen?” someone questioned Yuan Jin with great caution.

“Tua???” Yang Zi and Zhou Fu muttered simultaneously.

“Listen to me, the two of them are my honored guests. Tonight, let's welcome our guest with the best offering we can give!” Yuan Jin spoke as if he was the leader in the Night village.

“So, your father is a patriarch in this village?” Zhou Fu asked as Yuan Jin led them towards his residence.

“Yes, but my father has been very ill for two years. Two years ago, our village fought against the Caihong military on the surface. My father was seriously injured and now he can only lie in bed,” Yuan Jin said.

“Berwar? Why should there be war? As far as I know, the Caihong military never fought good people. Oh, don't tell me you guys are a black group who likes to make troublemakers!” Yang Zi stopped stepping, he began to suspect that the Night village was a settlement of evil people who liked to troublemaking.

“Already, not important about that. We are visiting now,” Zhou Fu pulled Yang Zi's arm so that the girl would not miss stepping.

Yuan Jin smiled at his two guests, he quite understood the assumption of surface humans related to the status of goodness of the Night villagers.

“Sister, have you ever seen a lion mother pouncing on a deer?” Yuan Jin threw a question at Yang Zi who was still looking at him with a probing gaze.

“No. Why?” Yang Zi asked back.

“Who is evil among them. Who is good among them? The lion mother is a good animal because she can support her child so as not to starve. At the same time, the lion mother is a vile animal because she has lost the life of a deer mother who may also be waiting for her son,” Yuan Jin long storytelling.

Zhou Fu crossed his two hands to his chest, his head shaking twice as his lips turned one smile in admiration. He quite understood the meaning of the story thrown by Yuan Jin, only, he was still quite surprised because the understanding was already owned by a seven-year-old child.

“If you ask who is evil, of course the lion mother! Who also demands the deer to be responsible for the life and death of the lion?!” yang Zi replied.

“Then, do you think there is a God who every day sends roast meat to feed the lion and his children? You know, big brother, there are no bad and good people in this world. There are only people who are considered good and people who are considered evil by others,” Yuan Jin replied at length.

Zhou Fu again shook his head in admiration. He saw, Yuan Jin even seemed to have forgotten that his legs and arms were in need of immediate treatment.

“Little sister, come on, you don't need to serve this stupid brother. Come to your father's house and I thought I wanted to find the horse I was looking for,” chirped Zhou Fu mediating the conversation between Yang Zi and Yuan Jin.
