A woman walked towards the Marine then stood beside the Marine staring at the sea, her expression gloomy.
The woman tilted her head, which resembled a panther, a black eyeball, and a sharp gaze.
"Is something wrong?" Marine fills the silence.
"I heard about Anders?"
Marine simply shrugged, in response to the woman's question.
The woman saw Marine saying, "You didn't do it?"
"Among all the snake members you know me better, Grace."
The woman's name is Grace, she's the one who's been training the Marine and knows the Marine's growing capabilities.
Grace is seven years older than Marine, perfect posture in a tight-fitting uniform makes her movements easier. Grace was the most respected female member on board the Maiden, no weapon Grace had brought. Because he's the gun is agile, tough and deadly.
"I hear we're going to have guests." Marine changed the subject.
"True, you need to get ready soon."
Marine lifted the dress in his hand, "You've seen the clothes I should be wearing?"
Grace raises her eyebrows and takes the dress from Marine's hand. "Come on, I'll help you wear it."
As Marine and Grace walk to the lower deck, Marine glances at Grace, "Indeed who is this important guest that we should entertain?"
"Captain didn't tell you?" Grace's expression was surprised to say back. "it looks like Prince Torin will bless our ship with his presence. And before you ask, I don't know why?"
"Going from the kingdom?" Marine knows very well how his father got the order from the King.
Maiden's ship was always docked on the first island when her father had to attend meetings or get new orders. His father always went alone, not a single maiden crew accompanied him.
The King prefers to do business behind the scenes, and the Marine believes the Prince does not know much about the cruel orders the Captain receives from his father.
Who decided on this meeting? Captain or the King? And why now?
Not many people know the Pangerang, and the Prince is a mysterious man.
Many rumors about him, some say Pangerang a timid man who humiliates his family name by hiding from the community.
Others say he was a scholar who loved his books. Some even say he secretly fought against his father's power using a pseudonym.
Whatever the actual story is one thing that is certain the Pangerang is rarely seen in public.
"Marine!" Grace broke Marine's mind.
These two women entered the Marine room, this narrow room was only along the bed, the furniture in this room can be counted in number.
Grace leaned over to pick up the new dress in the marine throw to the floor. "Where did the Captain get it?"
"I don't want to know." Marine didn't want to think about the origin of the dress. He stretched his body over the bed.
Grace grinned as she swung the dress. "She knows that it takes more than a dress to make you look decent, doesn't she?"
"Help me Grace put on this dress, the sooner the better." Marine rolled his eyeballs.
Grace helps Marine put on the dress which turns out to have several layers of skirts and corsets that are so tight.
"Maybe I need to do something to my hair?" Jemari Marine lifts her curly hair strands.
"Your hair is pretty good like this."
Marine ignored Grace's words, he kept his matted hair together and turned it up, forming a pile of unsightly hair.
"What do you think?" Ask Marine.
Looking at Grace who was behind her, Marine could feel Grace's mood change, "What's the matter?"
"There's nothing, I'm just saying that your hair is as good as it's left. Anyway your dad doesn't have a problem with that and we'd better not give him a new reason so he can get angry, right?"
"You're right." Marine opened up a pile of her hair, letting her curly hair unravel down.
Grace moved in front of the Marine, for a moment she looked dreamy, before returning to focus and saying, "We'll see how the Captain will complain after seeing you like this."
"Thank you, without you I would be overwhelmed by this pile of cloth."
"We'd better add to your practice time." Grace said while thinking of something.
Marine did not respond to Grace's remarks to the Marine exercise as long as anything would not solve her problem.
"Marine, there's no harm in believing in magic."
"Even if it's just a stupid story?" Marine raised his eyebrows.
Grace formed a mischievous smile. "There's no such thing as a stupid story."
"What do you think Grace?"
" Aren't you going to face your initiation ritual exam soon?"
"You can't ask, and I can't answer."
"Stay here until the Captain calls you." Grace stepped out of the room.
Marine sat in the corner of his bed, thinking what was more frightening after the ritual ceremony.
How long until I receive my first order? And like what? Would I be told to kill someone, of course I could, but could I take someone's life for granted? Can I snatch it just because it's an order from one person.
However, avoiding my father's request was different from opposing him as captain of the ship, who received orders directly from the King. Maybe my father was right if I was too weak.
Marine's thoughts crept long before returning to focus on the Prince's arrival.
The Maiden is getting closer to the invisible border that separates the western and eastern waters.
A line not to be crossed by the Maiden. The Western Islands were not led by a King or anyone, and since the war that broke the union of the Twelve Islands occurred, the Western Islands have slowly collapsed. All that remains are stories whispered from generation to generation.
The story of the absence of laws, fearsome tribes and evil creatures from the deep sea. Some even say that the remaining witches are hiding in the West.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as they moved away from the Western waters. Everyone except Marine.
Marine is very interested in what is across the border, just as he was when he was a child. He asked Grace to tell him stories about Western waters.
The mystery that enveloped the six forgotten islands drew Marine curiosity as strong as keeping others away.
The feeling that Marine feels is not from his desire to adventure but to escape from reality.
How many hours passed, knocking was heard behind the door, the sound saved Marine from his bad thoughts.
Marine steps open the door, looking Bronn standing giving a strange look towards the Marine.
Marine realizes that Bronn is staring at the dress he is wearing, Bronn is struggling not to laugh, "What's up?"
"Prince Torin is near, you are called to be present on the deck."
"Hore," Marine could not help his joy when he heard Bronn's long-silent voice like a rock.
Marine sees Bronn standing in front of him and says, "It's okay, I know the way."
Bronn still stood still without saying anything, irritating Marine and pushing Bronn out of his way.
Bronn followed the Marine from behind, Merine snorted, "Since when did I need a bodyguard when walking on Maiden?"
Arriving at the deck, Marine watches the crew standing upright in rows complete with uniforms and hoods covering their faces.
The captain stood ready to greet the Prince with Cleeve and Ren behind him while Grace was far by their side.
The captain turned to the Marine, his face telling him that Marine's appearance was what he expected.
"Ah Marine, you've finally come too, you look stunning, my dear daughter." The Captain's voice was too loud, the voice was deliberately heard on the entire crew.
All the crew members gawked at the appearance of the Marine who was so dazzling.
"Thank you, Captain." Marine shows an attitude that he is fine at the moment.
A giant ship that was almost as big as the Maiden Ship, docked next to the Marine standing ship. Waving the blue and green royal banner along with the flag of the East Islands.
Its striking color makes the eternal darkness that fills the deck of the Maiden increasingly felt. Except Marine who's like a beacon in his dress.
Ren and Cleeve advance to capture the mine that was thrown from the royal ship, pulling it so that guests can board the Maiden.
Some royal guards rose first with spears in a grip in front of their chests.
Marine imagines the figure of Prince Torin, an older man, with a wide complexion because his life is always pampered and perhaps arrogant.
A man walked towards the captain's row, his age was not much different from Marine, his appearance was full of prestige, his physique was thinly stocky.
His way of walking reflected the position he held, and his handsome face looked strong.
"Prince Torin," Captain, stepped forward and patted his chest as a sign of respect. "Welcome to Maiden."
"Thank you, Captain Alder," replied Prince Torin in such a delicate voice."It's not every day that I can get dinner invitations on the scariest ship in the entire Ocean."
"We're so glad you could come." The captain speaks respect." Allow me to introduce the intentions of this ship, Cleeve Head sailor, Ren and lastly Bronn my most valuable assassin.
Marine turned to Grace to see how she felt being ignored in public like this.
Grace was one of the most senior members on the ship. It's not the first time Captain has treated Grace like this, because with all the talent Grace has, she has one fatal weakness, she's a woman.
All the women on this ship had to work harder to get equal recognition with men.
Prince Torin lowered his head politely after the introduction was completed. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you, even though I already know the reputation you have has been heard all over the Eastern Islands. But I wonder, where is my fiance?"
Marine heard the last words of Prince Torin, he looked forward to waiting for a beautiful and elegant woman to cross the ship with a sweet apology for making the Prince wait for him, he said, but what Marine is waiting for is not coming.
The captain turned to the Marine with a smile. Seeing the fake smile, Marine's father understood something if no one came to mean Marine was the fiancee.
