The Desire Tarnished

The Desire Tarnished
Who's Melda ?

A taxi ride by Katrina and Rossi stops in front of the gate of a large and luxurious house. This is not Katrina's first time to that place, where 15 years ago he had visited the mansion.

"Is this really the address, Rossi? ask Katrina.

"Yes, this is the address" replied Rossi.

"Sir, please come back again yes" Katrina told the taxi driver.

"Why, Katrina?" ask Rossi.

"We'll just go home!"

"Why, Katrina? You've come all the way here to find Wine!"

"Let me tell you!" katrina.

During the trip, Rossi notices Katrina who seems restless. Katrina threw her gaze out the car glass, she tried to hold back her tears so as not to fall. 15 years is not a short time, but the wound in her heart seems new. Memory goes back to that time, where a bitter reality that he had to accept for someone's lies to him.

*The memory of the past stopped.

"Who is he, Heru?"

"You better leave this place as soon as possible!"

Katrina's cry broke, Rossi who was beside her immediately hugged her. Katrina leaned on Rossi's shoulder until the taxi he was riding reached the front of the boarding gate. Katrina got out of the taxi with weak footsteps, Rossi swept her into the house and laid Katrina on the sofa.

"Sum up first to make you better!" said Rossi.

Rossi sat next to Katrina who looked so sad. The tears were still falling on Katrina's cheeks that seemed unstoppable again.

"Tell me, what's going on?" ask Rossi.

"Who is the name of his friend Wine, whose house we went to?" ask Katrina.

"Melda!"

"Do you know him?"

Katrina is silent, her mind is looking far away, remembering her life with Cakra. The journey of his marriage did not go smoothly as he planned with Cakra at that time. A vengeance of someone who brought tragedy into his life. Is Melda the daughter of Liliana?

Katrina stroked her chest that was beginning to feel tight, as everything of her past life returned to her memory. Katrina stood up, rising from her seat.

"I'm gonna take a break, Rossi!"

"All right!" rossi said while looking at Katrina.

Katrina's personality is very closed, she's someone who does not easily tell about her problems with anyone. Although Rossi is his best friend from since sitting in high school.

Late at night, Katrina laid her body on the bed and looked at the ceiling of the room, but her eyes could not be closed, she thought about who Melda was her daughter's best friend. The shadow of the past comes back to haunt Katrina.

"There's a letter from the Australian embassy, ma'am!"

"What is this letter?" Ask Katrina.

Katrina opened the letter and read it many times. His hands trembled as if he could not believe what he was reading.

"Heru, what does this mean?"

"I will confirm this news later this afternoon madam but please don't let Tuan know!"

Tears were pouring down her cheeks, as if unstoppable. For so long he was silent about the case that happened to Cakra, only Heru, a confidant and friend of Cakra who knew about what happened to Cakra. The night is almost morning, though,

Next day

Drrt.

Vishnu's phone shook on the guest table, keeping him awake from his sleep. It appears on the call screen from an unknown phone number.

"Hello, Vishnu, it's me Melda!" audible sound

from there.

"Hello, what's calling me?"

"Is Wine with you?"

" Yes." Yeah."

"So the Wine boarding house called me and told me, Mamih Wine is waiting for him at the boarding house!"

"OK, it'll be delivered!" vishnu.

Vishnu ended his phone call, then walked to the room but there was a sound from the kitchen, like someone was cooking. The smell of toast from the kitchen.

"After, baby!" sapa Vishnu's.

Wine who was smearing chocolate jam and arranging toast on a plate, smiled and answered his lover's greeting, then Vishnu gave his phone to Wine.

"Call your mamih now!" vishnu.

Wine was surprised to hear Vishnu's words and stopped his hand from rubbing chocolate jam on the bread. Wine sat in a chair, for a moment he fell silent and looked at Vishnu. Wine took the cell phone given to him, then placed it on the dining table.

"I'm sorry I didn't want to call him!" said Wine while sighing.

"Why?"

Momih was waiting for you at the boarding house Melda called me!" vishnu said while holding Wine's hand.

The instant his tears fell, there was a longing in his heart, yet Wine did not want to meet. Vishnu wiped away the tears on his cheeks, and tried to convince Wine to return home to his boarding house immediately.

"I will take you before I leave for work" said Vishnu.

Vishnu moved and immediately went into the bathroom. A few moments later Vishnu was well dressed and approached Wine who was still sitting in the dining room. Vishnu sat beside him then took out a piece of toast that had been made available. Vishnu fed the toast to Wine's mouth which seemed still silent.

"I don't want to go back to Vishnu!" said Wine.

"But your mamih is waiting there!" answer Vishnu.

Vishnu tried to persuade and calm his lover's heart. Wine then got up from his seat walking into the room and came out by dragging his suitcase bag. Vishnu who already looked neatly dressed immediately put on his shoes. Stepping out of the apartment, Wine seemed hesitant, his steps stopped but Vishnu pulled his hand and took Wine to the parking lot. Vishnu opened the car door for him. Wine was just silent, so many questions were on his mind that raged if later met mamih. Wine did not want to hurt his heart with all his questions later and he did not want to be disappointed if later mamih could not be frank with him. His gaze was blank, he looked forward to seeing the streets that were already crowded from car glass but not as many as were raging in his heart and mind.

Vishnu drove his car carefully, once he looked towards the dreamy Wine. Vishnu then teased him, their gazes met each other, Vishnu tried to tease him again to make his lover smile, but it seems like Wine this morning was reluctant to give his smile. It does not feel the speed of the car that Vishnu drives has arrived in front of the kosan.

"Send my regards to mamih, later after work, I'll see her!" vishnu.

Vishnu got out of the car and opened the car door for Wine and helped lower his suitcase bag from the trunk of the car, then left Wine in front of the boarding gate. Wine remained standing until Vishnu's car disappeared from view. Then he went into a boarding house that looked lonely, this semester holidays are usually many boarding residents who return to their hometowns.

Wine dragged the suitcase bag up the stairs to his room, slowly opening the door of the room that seemed not tightly closed. He went in and saw the mother lying down. He placed the suitcase bag in the corner of his room carefully, afraid to keep Mamih awake.

"Wine, you're home!"
