The Charm of Mas Jaka

The Charm of Mas Jaka
Our Social Classes Are Much Different

"The cook said Mas Bambang, Dara's girlfriend a shepherd," replied Dilla.

Professor Hartadi looked directly at Jaka, looking for answers from what he had just heard.

Jaka nodded doubtfully, for the young man knew that the professor's daughter was also pursuing his love.

Without Jaka guessing, the authoritative professor patted Jaka's shoulder slowly. "Bakda isya' met me at Sugondo's residence," professor Hartadi asked the student.

Jaka looked at Professor Hartadi with a clueless look.

"Come here, I wait," his father said, smiling warmly.

Jaka nodded. "Excuse me, Prof. God willing."

"Yes, already. I also want to get ready for the Mosque, "smoothly throw Professor Hartadi away, so that Jaka will come home soon because it seems like the nephew really does not like the presence of Jaka there.

Of course Bambang did not like it because the young man felt defeated by Jaka who was only from a simple family but it turned out that in his campus there, Jaka has a myriad of achievements until the shepherd is now an assistant lecturer.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Prof," said Jaka with a greeting. Again, it was only aimed at Professor Hartadi, Jaka again ignored Dilla who continued to look at him from earlier.

All the way back home by pedaling the jengki bike owned by the mother, Jaka kept guessing, Jaka, what if the professor had planned so that the lecturer asked Jaka to meet at the residence of Mr. Kades.

"Hopefully good things, which I will hear later tonight," Jaka hoped.

Upon arrival in the courtyard of the house, Jaka rushed inside to prepare to go to the musholla which was near his house because the adhan maghrib was heard to have reverberated.

His parents were not at home either, which meant he had both gone to musholla first.

Yes, Mr. Karyo did apply the rules of discipline in worshiping his small family. Prayers are required at all times and the Qur'an tadarus at least once a day.

After taking ablution in the back shower, Jaka spurred a quick step to get to the musholla.

"Mas Jaka, wait!" someone shouted from behind Jaka's back.

Jaka looked back. A girl seems to run after Jaka.

"Sani, when are you coming home?" ask Jaka to the girl whose face looks glowing.

"Just this morning, Mas," replied the girl named Sani, who was a close neighbor of Jaka. "Mas Jaka himself, when to go home?" Sani asked back.

"Oh, already a few days ago," replied Jaka as he again stepped towards the musholla, which was followed by Sani with a stagger due to Jaka's wide steps.

"Mas Jaka, don't hurry, dong," said Sani, but Jaka did not care about it. The young man continued to move quickly because he was worried about being hunted.

Sani pouted, the girl came back running small. "Mas Jaka is now changing, deh. I don't want to know Sani anymore, "the girl who has worn the face, to cover her sex dress.

Yes, since working in the capital, Sani transformed into a modern metropolis girl and dressed scantily. Her face never escaped make-up and her lips were always red.

"Change what do you mean, San? I'm ordinary, I'm." Jaka glimpsed his head towards Sani with a deep frown. The young man goosebumps himself looking at Sani's face which looks to wear powder thickly.

The girl was silent, as if confused as to what to say. Only the roar of his breath sounded a little hunting because it balanced Jaka's steps.

"Mas Jaka knows, if Sani likes Mas Jaka from the past," said Sani who again ventured to express his heart, after a moment both of them stepped in silence.

Jaka took a long breath. "Sorry, San. Didn't I give you an answer?" Jaka looked back at his neighbor.

"But, Mas Jaka may not be the same as Mbak Dara because of what Sani heard, Pak Kades does not approve Mas Jaka. Sani thought, Mas Jaka will change his mind and want to consider the feelings of Sani," said Sani while looking at Jaka did not understand.

"Who said it's impossible, San. Everything is possible for God and for us if we want to try and pray," concluded Jaka who immediately turned towards the main door.

While Sani continued his steps towards the side door of the musholla, where the female congregation gathered there with a heart that was arrogant because his love was not responded to by Jaka.

Bakda prayers isya', Jaka say goodbye to both parents. "Sir, Mak, Jaka's going to Mr. Kades' house."

"What do you want, Nang, you go to Mr. Kades' house?" mak Karti asked with a deep frown.

"The Lecturer Jaka told me about this afternoon, whose brother Pak Carik was you know, Mak. He asked Jaka to meet at Mr. Kades's residence" Jaka explained.

"Madang sek, Nang," the father said.

"Excuse me, later, sir. Fearfully, Professor Hartadi has been waiting for Jaka," rejected Jaka subtly.

"Yo wes, Nang. Ati-ati," the mother's message.

"Excite, Mother. Assalamu'alaikum" said greeting Jaka, who then walked out to the terrace to pick up a bicycle.

Yes, Jaka rode an onthel bike to the residence of Mr. Kades so that it could be faster to arrive.

When Jaka arrived at the spacious courtyard of Mr. Kades' house, Professor Hartadi's car was also there.

Jaka keeps his butut bike in the side yard, under a mango tree. The young man then walked to the terrace, where the professor was sitting alone.

"Assalamu'alaikum, Prof," Jaka said with a greeting.

"Wa'laikumsalam," replied the unpretentious man with his special warm smile.

"Sit down, Ka. Sugondo was back," said Professor Hartadi, pointing to an empty bench in front of him.

"Excuse me, Prof," replied Jaka obediently. The young man was just about to sit down, when he heard footsteps approaching.

"Mas Jaka, when's it coming?" ask Dara who brought drinks for Professor Hartadi.

"Please, Pakdhe" said Dara politely, after keeping two cups of hot coffee and a plate of warm cucur on the table.

"Yes. Thank you, Dara," replied Professor Hartadi.

Dara then looked at Jaka, demanding an answer from her question just now.

"Just now, Neng," replied Jaka.

"Please sit down, Mas," asked Dara with a sweet smile, which revealed her teeth. Makes Jaka more anxious and want to feel pinch Dara's cheek.

"Yes, Neng. Thank you," replied Jaka who then sat right in front of the professor.

"Mas Jaka want some tea, or some coffee?" tawar Dara later.

"Anything, Neng. Asal Neng Dara who made it, it definitely tastes delicious and will be spent," replied Jaka who started with his combalan, while smiling sweetly at Dara. Jaka to forget the existence of the lecturer.

"Ehem ..," deham Professor Hartadi, made Jaka scratch his nape that did not itch. While Dara, smiled shyly.

"Jaka, Dara," call Professor Hartadi. The two young men stared at the professor.

"Are you two really serious?" ask the middle-aged man.

Jaka and Dara looked at each other because they both did not understand, where Professor Hartadi was talking.

"What do you mean, Kang? Seriously what?" ask Mr. Kades who suddenly was behind Dara.

"You must remember, Jaka! Our social class is so different! Dara I will never allow to marry, with a shepherd like you!"
