THE BATTLE OF 1000 SPIRITS

THE BATTLE OF 1000 SPIRITS
CHAPTER 3: THE SPIRIT

Myro House in the village is a small house consisting of 1 living room and 1 bathroom, besides the whole house is made of the same wood as other houses in the village.

Myro stared at the front of the house through a small crack in his wooden door. After making sure no one was following him, Myro who had stopped the bleeding from the woman's wound used the bandage he had kept as long as Myro became a soldier rushed to prepare dinner.

Working in the fields all day and carrying a heavy spear and treating one's wounds made Myro quite tired, besides that he needed to feed this wounded woman. Although the bleeding had stopped, the wound he received was too heavy to the point that the amount of blood lost risked endangering his life. So, Myro made food to replace the lost blood and add energy to his body.

Currently Myro was preparing the porridge, he as a person who worked in the fields did not have much money at all. For this reason, eating porridge almost every day is not strange, at most he eats meat 4 times a week.

While preparing the food, the injured woman slowly opened her eyes.

The first time the woman looked around in confusion, it seemed that she was still unconscious from her sleep.

After staring around for a while, the woman opened her eyes wide in surprise. He immediately stood up and tried to find a spear around him, but he immediately fell to the ground again while holding a wound on his shoulder with a face of pain.

Myro walked fearlessly toward the woman while carrying a bowl of porridge "Don't move much, the wound on your body is still too heavy so the more you move, the more you move, it's getting worse and worse the wounds you're gonna have. Even if you're a spirit, if your wounds are too heavy, you'll eventually die, won't you?".

Hearing Myro's words, the woman became even more surprised, she looked at Myro with a sense of caution "How do you know that I am a spirit?".

Myro placed his porridge on the wooden floor and said clearly "Easy, I observed from the wound on your body! The villagers or other normal people might not be aware, but as a soldier on the battlefield, I realized that your wounds healed too quickly! Although the regeneration speed of your wounds is not too excessive as all wounds will heal, but in my experience as a soldier, normal humans should not heal wounds that fast. Just how unique is the regeneration system of the human body, the speed of healing like you simply does not exist except for the spirit figure known as a being above a human, right?".

"What if I'm a witch? Aren't they able to heal wounds quickly as well?", the woman asked still looking carefully at Myro.

Myro shook his head "I've met witches several times on the battlefield, there are even some of them that died in my hands. Although they could heal their wounds quickly using magic, there must be a wave of mana in their bodies that I would be aware of. Moreover, can a witch who lost consciousness use magic? How, miss? Are there any more questions? Or do you still mind me knowing your identity as a spirit?".

The woman observed Myro before sighing "Alright, you are right! I'm a spirit, then what are you going to do now?".

Without waiting for the woman's answer, Myro ate his own porridge.

The woman looked at Myro in disbelief, many people were chasing after him after knowing that he was a spirit, thousands to tens of thousands of people tried to convince him that they were great masters. Not a few nobles or kings among them, even some people tried to attack him so that he surrendered. The reason he was injured and nearly died also had something to do with it, he was completely caught off guard after for some time this had not found a strong opponent or other spirit.

Who would have thought, Myro who made him owe him a living did not try to offer himself to be his master. But if Myro offers himself, he might consider it because the debt of life is not something light. Although he most likely still rejected Myro as his master, at most he would give Myro a great fortune before leaving. After all, he would rather be free than bound to others who are his masters.

"Are you sure? You know, as long as you become the master of the spirit, you will gain a great deal of wealth and power" said the woman trying to convince Myro "In addition to that, she said, most of the current monarchs are descendants of the spirit masters back then, aren't you interested in becoming a king that rules over many people?".

Myro had finished finishing his porridge, he put his bowl on the ground and said gratefully no matter "I am happy with the peaceful life I have now, therefore you may keep that power and wealth to others! As long as you get out of here, it's enough to pay for the kindness I gave you! Anyway, don't bring trouble to me, especially those people who are after you. Whatever happens, don't get me into your trouble".

The woman was silent for a while before bursting into laughter, she pointed towards Myro while trying to wipe away the tears in her eyes from laughing too much "You are really weird, you are really weird, if you're afraid of being drawn to my problems and just planning to live peacefully, why help me out in the woods? Wouldn't it be better to let me die there?".

Myro waved his hand "If not for me remembering something, I would have let you die there!".

The woman stopped laughing and smiled, "You're an interesting person! My name is Milier Lux, you can call me Mili! How're you? We may be new to each other and we won't be together for long, but I need to know the name of the person who has protected my life! If I manage to win the fight all the way to the Golden Mountain, I will repay your kindness".

"Myro Aras" said Myro remained cold "Take your porridge and rest, immediately leave this place after you are healthy".

"You're really too cold, Myro! But I understand that for you the peaceful life you have now is the most precious thing, so trying to protect it even if protecting me from the beginning is not the right step to maintain your peaceful life", said Mili who took her porridge bowl "However, no matter the reason why you took me away from the forest back then, the fact that you were the one protecting my life has not changed. Myro, thank you! Someday, if I have the chance, I will repay the kindness you have given me".

Myro walked clean his bowl without a sound, he was not at all interested in the empty words of Mili. Moreover, as he said, how much money or power Mili gave in the future, Myro was not interested.
