THE BATTLE OF 1000 SPIRITS

THE BATTLE OF 1000 SPIRITS
CHAPTER 26: JIRFA

In the Royal Capital of Alv, a 5-year-old girl sitting on the ground crying, she hides in a small alleyway between housing estates so as not to attract anyone's attention.

Suddenly a man of about 40 years old came to the alley, he walked up to the crying girl saying "Jirfa, is that group of boys bothering you again?".

The 5-year-old Jirfa was shocked at the arrival of the man, he raised his head to look at the man who came with his still watery eyes before running to hug the man's leg "Dad, I'm sure you're looking at him, they harassed me again and said I was the son of a murderer, and they even threw stones at me".

"What's? Do they dare to use stones? I will definitely make them regret it! How are you, Jirfa? Is there a wound?" said the man gazing at Jirfa's entire body with worry.

Jirfa shook her head "I'm fine, because of the dodge technique that father taught me, I managed to avoid all the stones they threw".

"Really, thankfully then! If until they dare to inflict any harm on you, father will definitely kill their entire family" Jirfa's father said coldly and firmly, there was not the slightest trace of doubt on any of his words "For now let's go back first, your mother has prepared your favorite dinner. Don't worry, I'll teach them a lesson to stop bothering you".

Jirfa nodded but there was still some trace of sadness on her face "Dad, why is there no one who is friends with me? Am I really scary?".

Seeing her son's grief, Jirfa's father immediately lifted Jirfa up and placed her on his shoulder "What are you saying? Jirfa is the father's son and the most beautiful woman in the world, they just don't understand about it. Someday, you will find many people who will be friends with you and understand you".

"All right?" said Jirfa, who was still a child, vigorously.

"True, do you think dad would lie? For that reason, don't worry about what's happening today, one day there'll be someone who can understand you" Jirfa's father said.

Jirfa is a child born to a mother who is a resident of the normal capital and her father is one of the strongest assassins belonging to the King of the Alv Kingdom.

Unlike the soldiers, Jirfa's father was tasked with killing everyone the king ordered to kill without having to fight first. So, people around often underestimate Jirfa's father and think of him as a killer, even the children of the surrounding population to interfere with Jirfa.

Even so, Jirfa was never sad about the treatment of those around him. Different from the stories where the killer family is a cruel family that makes all their children kill each other to make the strongest killer, jirfa's father was such a good person that he was confused as to why his father chose to be a murderer.

Since childhood he often invited Jirfa to play and walk, he also refused to teach Jirfa to be a killer at first.

Jirfa's father refused to let his daughter cover her hands with blood. Although there was once an order from the king to take Jirfa to the murder training ground because as the son of one of the best assassins in the Alv Kingdom, of course Jirfa is considered to have great potential to replace his father.

But Jirfa's father always refused the offer, he considered Jirfa to be the one to determine his own future.

At the age of 4, Jirfa, amazed by her father, began to force her to teach herself how to be a murderer.

At first Jirfa's father refused, but under Jirfa's stubborn attitude his father decided to give up and began teaching him in the hope that Jirfa would give up halfway.

Seeing the spirit and talent of Jirfa, the father who had only trained with half determination decided to train in earnest since Jirfa was 7 years old.

Although trained as an assassin and taught many powerful fighting techniques, his father never invited Jirfa to kill someone directly.

.....

At the age of 19, Jirfa was practicing knife-throwing at a predetermined target in his yard since the morning before sunrise.

When the sun began to rise, the door of his yard opened which made Jirfa stop his training.

He rushed to the door of the courtyard because he knew who was coming "Dad!".

Jirfa's father who had just returned from the mission immediately wiped away the tired and worried face on his face as he looked at Jirfa, he smiled gently "How was your practice during my time away, Jirfa? Is there a problem with the knife-throwing exercise?".

"Dad, everything went well! I believe I was able to throw a knife accurately with my eyes closed a month faster than the target I was given" Jirfa said excitedly.

"really? Father's son is great, soon you will be stronger than father" said Jirfa's father praising his daughter.

Jirfa smiles happily at her father's praise, but her father's next words confuse Jirfa with "Exercise is important, but I think you should stop practicing for a few days Jirfa because from tomorrow you and I will go to Horofa Village".

"Horofa village? Why do I need to go to a place far enough from the capital?", as an assassin, Jirfa had been taught by his father about the territory and terrain around the kingdom. At least to make a killing, information on the area and terrain of the target location is very important.

"The situation in the capital is starting to get weird, until I'm really sure what's going on, you and mom should stay there. I hope that with the strength that I taught you, you can protect your mother there, do you understand?" said Jirfa's father worriedly.

"I see, you can count on me" said Jirfa confidently, but he thought of something "Does that mean you won't go with us?".

Jirfa's father nodded heavily "There's something I need to do here!".

Jirfa's face turned sad so her father started to persuade her "You're too worried, at most we'll be apart for a year, after which we'll live together again in the capital huh?".

Jirfa stopped being stubborn, he nodded "I know as one of the noble trust assassins, father must have many important tasks here so cannot leave the capital. But you should always call me and mom, at least a letter every month!".

Finding Jirfa finally agreed, the father smiled with relief "Dad understand, I will definitely always contact you as often as possible because I will also be very worried about your situation as long as we are far apart".
