The 40 Days of the Natiphas

The 40 Days of the Natiphas
The Rose and mother-in-law

I had just fallen asleep but was interrupted by the noise of people knocking on the door, the soles of feet running towards it and opening the door. I knew for sure that the one who opened the door was the Rose, considering that we were the only ones at home.

"Who's coming?" curiosity led me there, but before that I made sure Kanaya was asleep in the baby box after giving her breast milk. I stepped out of the room and saw the presence of the mother-in-law who was already sitting on the sofa, I smiled and approached her. Not forgetting to kiss my mother-in-law's hand to welcome her home, sitting next door to accompany her.

"Why don't you open the door for Mom?" the question that was asked was a little sharp in my opinion plus the way my mother looked at me cynically.

"I overslept Mom." Answer me as it is. How not? Adam didn't want to help me take care of Kanaya, there's a reason to avoid it.

"Egypt? How come?" mom's jolt surprised me.

"I slept for an hour."

"Oh, that must be your reason. I've already given you a maid to do homework during the off her beach, surely you are lazy now." Hardik mother-in-law who does not want to understand my reasons, here also makes me want to know because not only my husband's attitude changed but my mother-in-law's attitude also changed.

I was silent, not wanting to answer anything more. My heart ached, seeing the changes of the two people I loved and respected, trying to hold back the tears from coming out this time.

"It's the drink, ma'am, please." Roses offered drinks and cookies to my mother-in-law, but the face changed.

"Well, thank you. You always understand Mother," praised the mother-in-law smiling at Roses regardless of my feelings.

"Am I your enemy? First my husband and second mother-in-law, what exactly do I not know?" inner Luna while looking at the togetherness of the maid and mother-in-law who looked familiar, there was no awkwardness and a sense of disdain at all.

"So the wife must be deft, make tea cake or coffee cake if there are guests, not here alone." Sindir mother-in-law glanced at me cynically.

Jlebb

My heart aches to hear my mother-in-law's sharp words, and what good is the rose to be here, when my own mother gave me a maid until my abstinence was over. But what is this? Mom still thinks like that, why do I feel like something is wrong.

"Yes, Mom." Reply resigned.

"Where are you?"

"It's in the baby box."

"Hem, good."

I have held myself back about the existence of the Rose, especially when I see her closeness with my husband and in-laws.

I saw the departure of the Rose and made me more free to find information about it. "There's something I want to talk to you about."

"What?"

"Mother gave me a maid, but I don't know her origin and what her background is."

"No need to find out, just enjoy it. At least your work at home has someone handling it."

"Yes, Mom."

"Well, buy me a pulse."

Mother gave me a piece of green money worth twenty thousand rupiah, with a heavy heart I went to leave Kanaya, let alone a considerable distance. "What about my son?" my mind cannot possibly refuse orders.

"Why bengong? Go quickly! I really need a pulse."

"Kanaya," softly as I bit my lower lip, hesitatingly leaving my daughter.

"Just go, there's a Mother and a Rose here."

"Mom, buy a ten thousand pulse."

"What's Neng's number?"

I read out my mother's mobile number and the transaction was over, I was about to go in a hurry to be detained by the shop owner's mother.

"What's wrong, Mom?"

"Who is the young woman who lives in your house?"

"Oh kirain what's up. She's the Rose maid my mother-in-law brought, ma'am."

"A maid's time is that pretty, you're not afraid of Lun?"

"Fear why Mom?" I pretended not to know, my mind was still on the child I was staying at home.

"Fear Adam smitten the maid. You'd better be careful, because you've seen them walk together on a motorcycle and very friendly."

"Maybe I saw the wrong person, excuse me ma'am." I rushed away from the stall, the gossip told me it made my heart even more bitter. "Are they really what the mother said?" muttered.

"Yee.di told you not to believe." Cibir the shop owner's mother who saw Luna's departure.

Walking hastily made me unconscious until I fell down, sitting on the road feeling pain in the knee. I unraveled the skirt and saw blood on the knee, grimacing in pain but still continuing home. My mind began to branch, regarding Kanaya as well as the existence of the Rose without knowing its true identity.

Arriving at home, I accidentally heard their words and made me eavesdrop and of course hide so as not to be discovered.

"You just hang in here, isn't this what you want" the mother-in-law told Rose.

"Do you think making me a maid makes me happy? Every wanted to be close to Adam's mas always secretly so as not to be discovered."

"You should be self-aware, not all your desires are achieved."

Haven't had time to eavesdrop on all the talk, I accidentally nudged the flower pot and made a sound. They immediately stopped the conversation and looked at me with a tense face.

"Lun, since when did you come home?"

"Just now, Mom."

I smiled pretending not to know what was happening, they were still awkward to see where I was. I was so upset why at a time like this it was discovered, so I didn't know what the truth was about the coming of the Rose.

"How did Mba fall?" rose asked in full search, perhaps wanting to make sure that I did not hear the direction of their conversation.

"I thought of Kanaya and went home in a hurry, but I accidentally fell down." Obviously me, hoping to dispel suspicion.

"Oh."

"The island's in, ma'am?"

"It."

"Alright, I went inside and saw Kanaya." I immediately went inside, enduring the pain in the heart. Not only was my husband a traitor but my mother-in-law also betrayed me, I don't know what was wrong so they could bear with me. I've been sidelined since Kanaya's arrival, but I never blame my son for my own ego.

"Five years ago they spoiled me and loved me, why is it changing now?" my mind sobbed, the change pressured me. Lucky I didn't have the baby blues that would be bad.

"The carcasses you keep will not last long, soon I solve the riddle of your attitude towards me." I muttered that immediately wiped away the tears flowing down the cheeks, I can only keep this matter to myself, indeed I have no family because I come from an orphanage.
