That Storm Must've Passed

That Storm Must've Passed
Time to open up

I don't have a private schedule today. I want to go home soon to finish the pending uniform stitches.

In addition to teaching, I look for rupiah coffers by sewing. I used to receive stitches both just permak or uniform stitches. It is good to add a steaming kitchen. I haven't relied too much on my husband's meager salary.

He should be grateful that I'm not too much trouble. But even on the contrary, he who more often said that I am less grateful. Is it not reversed?

During this time it was me who more often spent on family. Even the house, if I were not a teacher, maybe I would not be able to use the facilities of this official house. Thank God, once again gratefully.even though I have no home, I can still take shelter from the heat and rain. Even him, my husband was riding after me.

Many of my friends say that my husband is shameless. That's because he can't make me happy and prosperous, and even hitchhiking to be able to take a ride behind my work as an honor teacher.

"Asshalaamu'alaikum..." A typical greeting of Hendi flashed on my phone screen. It was as if the one thing I was hoping to color my heart was fresh.

"Wa'alaikumussalaam." I replied immediately.

"What's Ma for?"

"Again care to go home this."

"Lho..still in school? What time is it" he asked.

"Yes, it's only 12."

"What do you usually do after school?"

"Yes .. I usually take private. But if Saturday is usually my day off."

"Other than that what?"

"I also got stitches at home."

"Well, you're really multi-talented!" his praise.

"Ah, not really. If not, I can get extra money. I'm just an honor teacher. Do you know how much a teacher pays?" sahutku.

"What about your husband? Are you not satisfied with his living?" his pursuit.

"How yes...Reality like this. His salary was not enough to meet his daily needs."

"Did he love you Ma?" to the point.

For a moment I was drunk.

"And do you love him too?" again the question is surprising.

"Honestly, I didn't get married out of love."

"Lho..okay???"

"Yes .he is my second husband" I replied in surprise.

"Waahh..means we're the same..!" it just makes me more surprised.

"What do you mean, Mum?" my question is not to understand.

"Yes, my wife who is now the second one too. Just like you. I was divorced once. I had two daughters with my first wife. What about your first husband?"

"We're divorced. There's another woman who's making me give up on parting."

"Is there your son with the first one?"

"Keep what about now? Any kids?"

"Nothing...Thank goodness there were no children between us." I replied perhaps somewhat confusedly to Hendi.

"Why is that?"

"Yes.because lately my relationship with him has not gone as I expected."

"Is there another woman?" tanyakanya.

"It's not like that, it's because I'm his second wife."

"Lho??? How's the story ???"

"As I said in the beginning, I didn't get married out of love."

"So? Because what?"

"I was introduced to him by a friend. At that time I only applied for conditions, anyone who wants to make me a wife should be able to accept me and my son sincerely. In addition, he had to send my son to school at least until he graduated High School, and finish my studies until college. No less important, I have to be married officially and made home, and the important thing is that he will always be a reliable husband and care for me."

"What happened after that?"

"After we agreed like that, then I knew that he already had a wife and children. Actually I could've canceled that deal "

"But??"

"I was in debt that I couldn't settle unless I had to sell the house, which was a nice note between me and my ex-husband."

"So??"

"After I managed to sell the house and share it with my husband, I was able to pay off all my debts due to my ex-husband's lack of responsibility for the family. After I no longer have a home, where should I go other than to be forced to decide to marry my current husband despite having to be the second."

"What about your family? Didn't you still have a family back then?" ask Hendi.

"Mas remember that? Wasn't it Junior High, I'm still a non-Muslim?"

"Oh yes .. How did it happen now you can hijrah?"

"It was Mas.I moved before I married my first husband, when I just entered High School."

"What caused you to decide to migrate?"

"I have been wanting to move for a long time. Since I was in elementary school."

"Oo .. thanks alhamdulillaah... But what about your family? Can they accept it?"

" Not at first, but over time they were finally able to accept it, especially after I got married. That's why I couldn't go back to my family when I got divorced. I'm not comfortable living with my family, especially since we have different beliefs. That's why I'd rather accept this difficult choice."

"So, how's your situation right now? Has your husband officially married you? And how long have you been married to her?"

It was quiet for a while before I answered Hendi's question.

"Not until now has been almost Fifteen years with him."

"Astaghfirullaahaladziim...."
