Tell Your Father I'm a Muslim
Memories

That same day Khaled drove Maryam to his parents' house. Maryam's father and mother could not help but cry when they learned that their child's domestic life ended in divorce. There was a deep regret in their hearts, for it was undeniable that the marriage was due to their egos, not the pure will of Maryam.

Now they are more gentle with Mary, as if to atone for guilt. Whatever Mary's decision, her father and mother would obey her, accepting it with air.

Like that day, when Maryam asked her father to be allowed to continue college, her father immediately approved of her. Maryam decided to take Teaching of English, she wanted to become a teacher someday, at a university in Dubai. Maryam wants to enjoy her days in college.

Time after time went fast, it did not feel four years more Maryam had education at the University. He was finally able to get a Bachelor of Education degree.

He was looking for information about education and found an information that offered the opportunity to become an educator in a city in America. His heart trembled reading the name of the country. His memory certainly returns to the memories that he had stored neatly in his heart and mind. He couldn't possibly have forgotten about it.

Then, in order to gulp back the memories of her past, Maryam secretly sent her bio at the educational institution via email.

For a month he waited anxiously for a reply. And that day, his wait for a month more was not in vain. Maryam obtains

that opportunity. Yes, he will fly to Uncle Sam's country for the second time.

”I got a chance to be an educator in America, Dad. Do you approve of it?” He met his father at the time

it was casually chatting with his mother in the living room. Mary asked her father for permission carefully. His heart really hoped his father would allow it. For a moment his father cleared his throat, fixing his seat. He looked at Mary seriously.

”Go if you really want to pursue your goals there, son. All I want is one, wherever you are, still uphold your love for God. Make Him above everything. I believe in you, My Son.”

Mary was standing in front of her father and mother. He cried, begging for their blessing. Enclosed the body of the child just their puppet with haru. It felt like the last day for them to be together.

The sky of New York City is still the same, offering shade in Maryam's heart. There was a rush as he stepped down the stairs of the plane that flew him from Dubai. As if he did not want to pass the moment, he breathed deeply into the air of New York City to meet

chest cavity. New York is like a new opium to him.

After renting a modest apartment, Maryam came to fulfill the call of the institution that received her. She will be placed in an International Primary School, a primary level education for children ages 6 to 7.

On the sidelines of holidays, Maryam often uses it by traveling around the city, recalling memories of her past

still neatly stored in his mind. Maryam remembers David and intends to visit his church.

A taxi drove him to that place. It all looks the same as it did a few years ago. Maryam peeked out from behind the window of the taxi before finally deciding to get off. He sighed, trying to shake off the rumble in his heart. His eyes squinted as soon as he saw a dog barking, staring at him from a distance. Steadily, Maryam stepped her feet toward the building. His steps stopped when he saw the figure of a middle-aged man watering a row of plants that adorn the courtyard of the old building.

The man was momentarily stunned to see Maryam, implying shock.

”Maryam..?” the man approached her.

”Father..” Maryam's a little clumsy.

”You're back, My son!” His word.

”Come get in. Follow me, Mary! (Let's enter. Follow me, Maryam!)” The connection again while teaching Maryam steps.

”Sit down, Maryam,” said David's father welcomed her as soon as Maryam came in.

”How are you, Father? (How are you, Father?)” maryam opened the conversation.

”I thought I would never see you again, My Dear (I thought I'd never see you again, dear). Seeing you here

as if treating my miss on David.” The man began to tear.

”David? Whys? What happened to him? Where is he, anyway? (David? Wh why? What's wrong with her? Where is he?)” Maryam nodded with a question.

”He’s gone. He left me. (He has gone. She left me.)”

”Gone? What are you trying to say, Father? (Go? What do you mean, Father?)” maryam asked in a panic.

”He went home to his parents. It’s been five years (It's been five years),” replied David raucous father.

”But how? You’re his only parent, aren’t you? Father, would you mind telling me the truth? What exactly happened to David? (But how can it? You're her only parent, right? Father, can you tell me the truth? What really happened to David?)”

Maryam confused.

”One day a man came with a woman to this church. They are a couple who intend to find their son who

a dozen years ago it was dumped by his wife. That kid is David. The woman told me everything. His mother deliberately dumped David because he could not bear the burden of having given birth to a child outside of marriage.” David's father explained.

”After the woman told the truth to the man who had impregnated her, who was now her husband, that she had thrown away the fruit of their forbidden relationship, the man asked to seek the whereabouts of his son. Then they came to this church. They took David away.” There are tears that drip on

her cheek.

”At first David was not willing, but the Father told him to stay with them. Since then, the Father has never seen him again. David never visited here. The Father knows their address, but declining health prevents the Father from going there. How I miss him! (How could I miss him!)” Reveal it at length. He was completely powerless to endure his grief.

David's father suddenly went inside. Shortly after, he returned with an envelope.
