Tell Your Father I'm a Muslim
Ill

That morning, in a condition less fit David still forced to go to school. She found in class, Maryam had sat neatly while reading her little Qur'an. At a glance his eyes glanced at Maryam. Realizing that she was being noticed, Maryam kept trying to concentrate on reading verse by verse.

”Yes Allah is All-Turning, make me forget David,” whispered Maryam's heart on the sidelines reading the verses of the Qur'an.

As usual, David wrote on a piece of paper and then stood up and walked towards Maryam, handing the paper to her. He read the letter:

I wonder why you broke this relationship?

Maryam took a piece of paper and wrote a reply to David:

Don't bother me anymore, I don't want to talk to you anymore.

What happened next, they exchanged letters with each other.

Maryam, I've been tortured enough away from you. It's hard for me to forget you. Last night I couldn't sleep, thinking about the problems between us. Now try to give me a reason why you're acting

away me? I beg you! – David –

Ask Angels. She knows what really happened. – Maryam –

David was looking for Angel. Drawn Angel's hand as soon as David found it.

“What the hell is this, Dave? Why are you pulling me like this?” shouted Anggel while trying to release his hand from the clutches of David.

“Explain to me why Maryam decided me!” Ask David with a serious look.

Angel looked at David's face full of sadness. He was confused between telling her or not. To be honest in his heart he did not have the heart to say that Maryam would be betrothed to the man of his father's choice.

”I don't know..” Anggel replied trying to evade.

”Lying! Maryam said you know everything. He asked me to ask you, Anggel. So please, explain to me what really happened!” David begged.

”Don’t ask me to explain it, please! (Don't force me to explain. Please!)” Angel still refuses.

”Explain to me now, Anggel. Explain!” Shaken both shoulders Anggel.

Mary watched them from the classroom. His heart felt sliced.

Meanwhile, Anggel was still unmoved.

“Come on, tell me!” David was begging.

“Sorry, not that I won't. But I can't, Dave.” Angel stick to his stance.

Suddenly Mary approached.

“I'll be betrothed, Dave. My father has chosen me a future husband from Dubai, his name is Khaled. My father intended to marry us after graduating from High School and I couldn't turn him down.” Maryam's emotions overflowed for a moment.

Hearing that directly from Maryam made David seem so unsteady. He was stunned for a moment then slowly walked away from Maryam and Angel. At the end of the class hall, David ran to the place where his bike was parked. He rode his bike as fast as he could to leave school. He ran away not knowing the direction. He wants to scream.

“Aaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh!"

David is no longer passionate about school. For a few days he locked himself in his room. Breakfast, lunch and dinner he just missed. His appetite is gone.

David hasn't been to school for a week, making Maryam so nervous. After school, Maryam sat languidly at the usual stop where she and David met. Occasionally he looked at the sidewalk that the end of the road through to the school gate where usually

David shows up to see her.

In his heart, he muttered, “Where are you going, Dave? I'm deadly miss you. (Where are you going, Dave? I really miss you so much.)”

Then a drop of two drops of his tears wet, until the flood soaked his cheeks.

Rushl enters his son's room. He was sad to see David's condition like that.

“You must eat, son, otherwise you will be sick.” There was concern on his face.

“I can't, Dad. I don't have appetite anymore.”

“You why, son? What's the problem?” His father demanded answers.

“Can Muslims and Christians not love each other, Father? Explain to me, would you allow me to marry a Muslim woman someday?” tanyanya raau's.

His father fell silent, he just understood David's real problem.

“Praise God's Name, Son. Pray to Him. Ask Him to let go of your love for Maryam. He's not for you.”

Gently rubbed David's back.

“Praise God.. Praise God.. Praise God.. “ David tergugu called him.

In front of the church, Maryam stood with her feet shaved. His veil fluttered through the wind. He stepped slowly. His existence at that time was not

another to find out the whereabouts of David who has been absent for a week. A monk looked at Maryam from a distance with a strange look. He approached the girl.

“Wait!” Shouted the monk when he found Maryam about to walk away.

Maryam.

“What are you doing here? (What are you doing here?)” his mind wondered to see a Muslim girl standing in front of the church.

”Excuse me, I want to see David. I’m his classmate. (Excuse me, I'd like to see David. I'm his classmate.)” Mary explains the purpose of her existence.

”Alright, I'll take you to his dorm.” He walked ahead of Mary.

In the hallway of a ward of a room, Maryam meets a middle-aged man in David's father's oversized black robe. The two stopped and stared at each other.

”I want to meet David.” Carefully Maryam started the conversation.

”You.. Maryam?” his gaze was so curious.

Maryam nodded in reverence.

”Turn this girl to David's room." The middle-aged man gave orders to the monk. Maryam was sad when she saw David lying weakly in his bed. Wet eyes.

”David.. ” Call Maryam lirih.

”Why are you here? I want to forget you. You even come here. Go awayl.. I want to forget you!" David intends to expel Maryam without looking at the girl.

”I want you back to school. I want you there, Dave. I want to keep seeing you even though I know I won't be able to have you.” Mary shook at her own words.

"I want to forget you. I really want to forget you!” David's cry broke out instantly in front of the girl he loved so much.

"I've tried too, Dave. But I can't. I. I still love you.” Her tears kept falling. He didn't want to be seen in front of David.

Silent.

David was crying in silence. So did Maryam.

”Night only your face is imagined, Maryam. I repeatedly mentioned the name of God in my heart, but He never swept your shadow from my memory." David broke the silence between the two of them.

”Let me see you every day at school, Dave. Please go back to school,” pinta Maryam.

”I can't do it now, Maryam. Please don't force me for now. Now leave. Go home and don't see me again for a while. Later after this love disappeared from my heart, I promise, we will meet again and make friends as usual.” David still threw away his face.

Hearing David's answer, Maryam's heart felt pierced.

”You still want to, right, make friends with me?” ask David. He was silent for quite a while then ran away leaving David alone in his room. Maryam continued to run sobbing until her eyes were blurred by the water pooling in her eyes. A few monks who happened to be passed by him stared with wondering gazes in their hearts.

Inside his room, David harbored deep regrets.

”I'm sorry,” whispered.
