The industrial revolution 4.0 was a necessity. The fourth generation industry is projected to bring benefits in all fields. One of them is the manufacturing sector.
The term industry 4.0 was first introduced by Professor Klaus Schwab who is the founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) through his book, The Fourth Industrial Revolution (2016).
In the book, Schwab said, the fourth industrial era is marked by the emergence of various internet-based digital technology innovations, including the internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) aka artificial intelligence, robots, and other, big data, cloud computing, and three-dimensional printing.
Connectivity at that time also became more widespread. Thanks to the use of the internet, all entities, from humans, systems, to devices or machines, can connect in real time.
This extraordinary transformation provides comprehensive benefits to the manufacturing sector, ranging from production systems, management, to business governance. The presence of smart machines or robots, for example, will make the production process more efficient.
Like the previous industrial revolution, Schwab said, the fourth industrial era has the potential to raise global income so that it can improve the quality of life of residents around the world, as quoted by Forbes, Monday (13/8/2018).
Industry 4.0 in the Land
Currently, almost all countries in the world are preparing to enter the era of industry 4.0, including Indonesia. This commitment was marked by the launch of "Making Indonesia 4.0" by President Joko Widodo in April 2018.
According to the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), there are five types of industries that are a priority in the national program. One of them is the electronics industry.
The five sectors were chosen because they consistently contribute to the national economy, reaching 60 percent. The five sectors also have a significant contribution to exports by 65 percent and employment reached 60 percent.
However, before entering the industrial era 4.0, companies need to make improvements in technology aspects so that products are able to compete with competitors in similar sectors.
Today, many companies have started to implement this. One of them is Oppo Indonesia which applies IoT technology and artificial intelligence to the corporate ecosystem to improve competitiveness.
The latest, the manufacturer of electronic devices and mobile communications inaugurated Oppo Gallery, Wednesday (10/2/2021). The showroom that serves as the outlet as well as the place of the exhibition is on the second floor of Plaza Indonesia.
Oppo Gallery is created by combining elements of art and technology. Both of these elements make the showroom look artistic and modern.
With an area of 390 square meters, Oppo Gallery provides four experience areas to pamper visitors, namely Find The Future, Expose Area, IoT Wall, and Oppo Garden.
In the Find The Future area, visitors are presented with various works of art from Oppo collaborations with artists. One of them, the interactive art installation of light emitting diode (LED) with a natural theme of 12 meters long made by Isha Hening.
Other interesting installations can be found in the IoT Wall area. Here, visitors can enjoy a typical underwater panorama of Raja Ampat complete with its coral reef ecosystem in three dimensions (3D). In addition, visitors who are there also have the opportunity to see the design of the Oppo X 2021 prototype.
Things that should not be missed when visiting Oppo Gallery is to try out all the latest products, technologies, and features made by Oppo. This exploration can be done as much as possible in the Expose Area and Metacase technology installation located in Oppo Garden.
In addition to being able to try out the sophistication of technology and smartphone products made by Oppo, in the Oppo Garden area visitors can enjoy the recording of poetry presented by Nicholas Saputra and relax with the Oppo Relax feature. In the Oppo Garden area, visitors can also listen to a recording of a poem from Nicholas Saputra titled No New York Today through Oppo smartphones with Dolby Atmos kitar sound technology provided there. Still in the same area, visitors can do a moment of relaxation by enjoying the natural atmosphere of the contemporary garden through the Oppo Relax feature.
Oppo Indonesia Chief Creative Officer Patrick Owen said, Oppo Gallery can be a platform used to encourage the creativity of Oppo fans and technology and art lovers in general.
“We believe that nature is a powerful source for Oppo in creating excellent and inspiring products for many. Nature also inspired Oppo in creating supersensitive cameras like the human eye to robotic technology with artificial intelligence equivalent to humans,” Owen said in a release received by Kompas.com, Wednesday (10/2/2021).
In addition to Oppo Gallery, the seriousness of Oppo in adapting to technological developments is also demonstrated through the launch of Oppo Reno5 5G. The launch of Oppo Reno5 5G is a form of Oppo seriousness in adapting to technological developments in the industrial era 4.0. The fifth generation smartphone from the Reno line is equipped with AI-tech cameras and is able to run on the latest generation of mobile networks aka 5G.
The application of AI technology in Reno5 5G cameras can be seen from the three features contained in it. AI Highlight Video with Full Dimension Fusion (FDF) Portrait Video System support.
Thanks to the support of the technology, the Oppo Reno5 5G camera is able to detect ambient light automatically and improve video quality by applying Ultra Night Video and Live HDR algorithms.
Ultra Night Video serves to brighten the object and the surrounding area when shooting is done in low light conditions. Meanwhile, Live HDR is useful to reduce the area that is too bright in backlight conditions.
Second, Portrait Beautification Video. This feature is able to detect 194 facial points so that it can optimize the display specifically following the character of each individual.
In addition, there are also eight facial options that can be adjusted to improve facial details.
Dual-view Video feature on Oppo Reno5 5G. Lastly, Dual-view Video. This feature allows users to run dual recording through the front and rear cameras simultaneously. This feature is suitable for vloggers and content creators. Artificial intelligence is also embedded in the Oppo Reno5 5G chipset, namely Snapdragon 765G 5G integrated with 5G modem. This support makes the phone's performance powerful, but with efficient power consumption.Despite saving battery, Oppo still equip Reno5 5G with fast charging 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 feature. With just five minutes of charging, the phone can be used for the next four hours.
To provide visual comfort, Oppo Reno5 5G also has an AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Although battery-efficient, Oppo Reno5 5G is still equipped with a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging feature. For those who are interested in trying out the capabilities of Oppo Reno5 5G, you can get this smart phone at a price of Rp 6,999,000.
