Fara was confused, how to give the letter to her father. He's only been holding the call since dinner ended. He just walked around in his room.
Moments later there was a knock on the door, it must be his father. Fara immediately opened the door, coincidentally when Fara was going to talk to her father.
"Fara, I'm gonna talk to you for a second."
Fara stared doubtfully at her father, then they sat down on the edge of the bed.
"Dad, what do you want to say?" ask Fara.
"Tonight this week there's a dinner. You come with me." said Mr. Ridwan. She actually wanted to discuss the matchmaking issue because she just got a call from Bu Lani that her son agreed with the matchmaking.
"A dinner party. Same who?" ask Fara. Although he could already guess the story.
"The same family of your Mama's friends who came here yesterday" said Mr. Ridwan.
That's right Fara's guess. He knitted his brows and shook his head. "Fara doesn't want to be matched."
"Where do you know about this match?"
Fara only fell silent while lowering her gaze.
"Dad wants you to get to know his son Om Robi. Who knows if you guys are a good fit."
"Fara has a boyfriend" Fara said.
"Who? Arshad?"
Fara nodded her head slowly.
"New girlfriend, not necessarily a match."
Hearing her father's words, Fara's heart felt sore. That's the sign his father prayed for him and Arsyad was not a match.
Fara finally gave the call to her father.
"What's this?" Mr. Ridwan frowned while opening the letter. He read it in the heart of a letter containing a call to school for an offence. "What have you committed?"
Fara was silent. He further lowered his gaze hearing his father's tone which had turned higher.
"You're caught dating at school?" guess Mr. Ridwan, because what stuck in his mind these few days was just that problem.
Fara was silent. He now clasped his own hand hearing Mr. Ridwan's intonation of speech that sounded louder.
"Dad expected, Arsyad must have a bad influence on you. From now on you stay away from Arsyad!"
Fara shook her head while looking at her father. "I love Arsyad. I don't want to be set up."
"Love? You know what love means!" Mr. Ridwan stood up. "Father is more sure to match you up and quickly marry you so that someone will guide you."
"Dad, Fara won't."
"Dad's decision is already round."
"Dad why always manage Fara's life! Fara still wants to study abroad and after college Fara does not want to be betrothed like this!"
"No! You must still accept your Mama's choice. College business later you can go to college here."
"Daddy, I don't love Fara anymore!" Fara threw herself on the bed while covering her entire body with a blanket.
Mr. Ridwan just let out a long sigh, then he walked out of his daughter's room.
All this time I've been trying to be a good boy and be proud but it turns out that it's all useless.
Fara uncovers her blanket, grabs her cell phone and contacts Arsyad via video call. Moments later Arshad picked up the call.
"Are you crying?" asked Arsyad who saw Fara's wet eyes through the video call.
"You were scolded by your father?" ask Arsyad again.
Actually Fara had no problem getting scolded by her father but what broke her heart was the matter of the matchmaking.
"Ar, Dad wants to match me with a mate of Mama's choice. I don't want to marry that guy. I'm still going to college." Fara's getting sobbing. Looks like those ideals will run aground just like that.
"Later you try to talk nicely with your father."
Fara shook her head. "If you've made a decision, you won't be able to argue."
They were silent for a while while staring at each other through the phone screen.
"Later to find a solution to this problem. Don't be sad anymore. Smile yes, you are much prettier if you smile again." seduced Arsyad tried to comfort Fara.
Finally Fara could smile. They continued chatting about other things until Fara fell asleep with the video call still connecting.
...***...
That morning, Arshad came with his father. From last night until this morning Arsyad still got a lecture from his Papa. Even at school it remains the same.
"Arsyad, remember! Once again Papa gets a call to school because of a courtship case like this, Papa will law you! You're still in school, you can't date."
"Yes, Pa." Arsyad simply lowered his gaze while walking as several other disciples were now looking at him while whispering. "Papa, he'll be angry next time, there are friends. Shame."
Papa Arsyad, whose name is Mr. Rasya, just took a deep breath while entering the BK room. He shook the hands of Mr. Eko and Mr. Aslan who were already sitting in the room.
"Sir Rasya, sorry we had to call you related to the violation committed by Arsyad" said Mr. Eko who had known Mr. Rasya as Arsyad's parents.
"Yes, it's okay, sir. It's actually good, so that I know my son's behavior at school."
A few moments later Fara and her father came in. Mr. Ridwan greeted the two teachers and Mr. Rasya. "Sir." said Mr. Ridwan.
"Yes sir." The two of them had indeed met several times at the meeting and the last time when they received the achievement student award.
They had all been sitting quietly and Mr. Aslan started the conversation. "Include me Aslan's new teacher here."
The two fathers only nodded their heads because they were also curious about the young teacher they had never seen before.
"I'm sorry I called you in on this matter. I just don't want this problem repeated. It looks trivial, only dating when you get home from school but if left alone this problem will continue to the next level."
"Yes Sir. We understand."
"Before I had warned them both and it was repeated again." continued Mr. Aslan again.
Mr. Ridwan stared intently at his daughter who had just lowered her head.
"They're in 12th grade, it's not time to mess around anymore. This time, I leave this matter to the parents. If they still repeat it again, I am forced to give a firm punishment" Mr. Aslan said again.
"Yes Sir. I will advise Arsyad and continue to monitor his activities."
Arsyad was silent. Ever since last night his father advised him, is it lacking?
"From now on I will also be watching Fara. I thank you for being told about this."
"Yes, you two can go back to class."
Fara and Arsyad stood up.
"Arsyad, remember Papa's message."
"Yes, Pa."
"Fara, I'll pick you up after school."
Fara just nodded small. Then they both came out of the BK room. They were very upset with Mr. Aslan.
