Spoiled Without Love

Spoiled Without Love
Chapter 46

"Assalamu'alaikum." There was a knock from the front door, and the sound of greetings from someone who was no stranger.

"Wa'alaikumsalam." Shanum answered from within. "Let Shanum be Mbok." Shanum prevents Mbok Sari from opening the door.

"Dev has arrived?" Tanya Shanum is just a stale base.

Shanum could not immediately blame Dev for this incident. He was still sane enough to think logically.

Moreover, Shanum knew Dev not just one or two years.

"Where's Adel?" Dev asked regardless of Shanum's question.

"Sit down, you must be tired, I'll make you a drink." Shanum went into the kitchen, Dev sat down obediently.

"Dev's home?" The same question was asked by Mira.

"Are you Mom, you're healthy?"

"Alhamdulillah." The rest was just silent, no more chatter happened, until Shanum came carrying a glass of orange ice along with brownies.

"Dev is not a guest of Kak, Dev can take his own drink or feed himself if hungry." Dev said no good.

"You're still tired. Drink first, then rest. Enough in the guest room." Shanum's words made Dev aghast in shock.

"It's nothing Dev, Adel's not feeling well, just fell asleep, if you go in the room right now he's afraid his break is interrupted." Shanum who understood the meaning of Dev's gaze explained Adel's state.

"Adel's sick? What happened to him, why did he get sick? when I was leaving Adel was fine, even all night Adel was still calling me," Dev said.

"Just have a fever, no need to worry, after a break it must be better."

Dev no longer asked, he went to the guest room just to rest the body and mind.

'I have to find out who's behind this mess.' Batin Dev furious.

"Dec is awake? How you doing, how you feeling?" Shanum asked as Adel approached himself in the kitchen, Shanum was cooking with his mother for dinner.

"Indeed, Adel, why Brother? Adel's fine." Terang Adel's.

Shanum just smiled in response to Adel's answer, he resumed his activity of putting vegetables into a pot that was filled with boiling water.

An hour passed all the food was ready on the table, Shanum only cooked vegetable soup meatballs, fried chicken, egg balado and also mendoan fried by Bu Mira.

"Mbok please call Dev ya." Shanum asks Mbok Sari to call Dev for dinner together.

"Mas Dev has gone home, brother?" Ask Adel curious.

"After noon, from the rest in the guest room, do not discuss anything until after eating. Understand."

Adel who understands the way his brother thinks that certainly has the best way to solve the problem chose to say Shanum.

Adel was sure Shanum would definitely do his best for all.

"Darling, said your sister-in-law with a fever? how's now? Does it still hurt? What if we go to the doctor? I don't want you to do anything." Dev asked consecutively made Adel confused about which one to answer.

"For last night, sorry…………"

"Eat Dev you must be hungry." Shanum immediately cut Dev's speech.

Dev obediently took the plate, Mother filled the dishes of her children with rice and also the desired side dish. They eat in silence, no conversation takes place at the table.

"Mbok, sorry for the trouble, please clean the dining table."

"Let Adel help."

Adel tries to avoid Dev, remembering about the photos and voice recordings that he had received last night makes Adel not so respectful with Dev's presence.

But it was banned by Mbok Sari as well as Shanum.

"Dev comes with me." Shanum takes Dev to the living room, where they can speak freely.

Uncommanded, Adel and Bu Mira tailed behind, Dev and Shanum sat on the floor with a thick carblet, while Adel chose a sofa bed with the thigh of Bu Mira.

Who was somehow airing what show, Shanum turned on the television just to accompany the chat to make it more relaxed.

Dev stared at Shanum briefly then followed Shanum's eyes back to the front.

"I'm still investigating it." Said Dev who knew where Shanum was talking.

Although Shanum did not ask in detail but Dev knew there must be something wrong in his home, especially seeing Adel's changes.

Hearing Dev's reply made Shanum spontaneously look at him.

"Why Brother?" Dev asked confusedly.

"you mean? You're framed?"

"It looks so."

Adel was a little relieved to hear Dev's confession, but he also wanted to wait for evidence not just a defense.

"Explain." Shanum still demands more details.

Finally Dev told everything, about the irregularities that occurred after the meeting was finished, without anything being covered in the slightest.

Shanum occasionally nodded, sometimes frowning at Dev's confession.

"How do you prove that you were framed?" Shanum said after Dev finished his sentence.

"I should still be living there, but I don't feel well after seeing so many missed calls from Adel, especially after I call back, the number is off." Dev replied lethargicly, occasionally glancing at Adel, but Adel was still indifferent to him.

Instantly the atmosphere became silent, before Shanum spoke again.

"Del, cellphone!" Shanum turned his hand towards Adel intending to ask for Adel's cell phone.

"There's a room."

"All right." Shanum moved from his seat. "Stay here." His message.

Adel also did not want to ask anything about her brother's intentions. Adel completely believed in Shanum.

It didn't take long for Shanum to rejoin them.

"Candy." Shanum gave Adel's phone to the owner, he obviously had trouble unlocking a phone that didn't belong to him.

"Do you know this number?" Shanum asked while propping the phone in front of Dev.

"No!" Evidently. "It doesn't look like there's a number on my phone." Further again.

Dev scrunched his forehead as if remembering something. "It seems familiar."

Shanum grew more enthusiastic at Dev's change in expression. Dev is seen withstanding visible emotions from his tightly clenched fingers. "What do you remember?"

"This woman .........." Dev looked at Adel and Shanum in turn, there were doubts when he wanted to tell the truth.

"Tell me."

Dev sighed slowly. Doubtful to tell the truth, afraid of hurting Adel and also disappointing Shanum.

Dev looked back at Adel who was still looking at him flatly, no expression whatsoever that Adel showed.

"She's the woman I met when I woke up this morning." Dev lirih. "But I don't know him." Dev connected his words before they misunderstood.

"How about this photo?" Shanum again showed a photo Adel received last night.

Dev was surprised to see a picture of himself without clothes just wearing a blanket limited to the stomach and with the woman of course.

But a second later Dev can master his feelings. "Sister-in-law sent me my number."

"For What?"

"He's the key."

Shanum looked at Adel for approval, Adel just nodded his head in response.
