Part 49: The OTW Beijeng

A black suitcase containing 3 billion dollars of cash slammed onto the floor. The owner lowered his head, seeing his beloved wife kneeling stopped his steps. Erwin let out a rough sigh, then looked up with eyes that were already filled with tears. He could not see Zahra crying in front of him.

"Don't go, Mas, I'm afraid you're doing something!" rengek Zahra holding Erwin's knee.

Erwin crouched down, then hugged Zahra tightly. The man could feel a small tremor in Zahra's body. He closed his eyes while kissing the top of Zahra's head.

"Mas, I beg you! What about our kids later, if you're told to be with them?" Zahra sank her head into Erwin's chest field deepened, as if not wanting to part.

"Mas, please, don't go." Zahra ceaselessly persuaded Erwin.

Erwin clasped Zahra's hands tightly with both hands, their wistful gazes clashing against each other after Erwin took off his embrace. The man bit his lower lip firmly holding everything back.

Zahra to the point of choking on her own cry is quite sad. His face was soaked with tears. Erwin's hand that was holding Zahra's hand started to shake violently. Erwin closed his eyes painfully.

"Don't go there Mas, they're evil," whined Zahra as she wiped the tears on her cheek.

Erwin was silent for a while before finally opening his voice. "Innallaha mangalladzinataqau walladzina hum mukhsinun."

Tangis Zahra instantly stopped that second as well.

"Allah is with those who fear and those who do good." Erwin uttered the piece of Surah An-nahl/16:128. His hand slipped Zahra's hair behind his ear.

I don't know why Zahra's heart suddenly calmed down. Erwin kissed Zahra's hand and rubbed his flat stomach.

"Well me, I have to save my son, Ra." Erwin kissed Zahra's stomach gently.

Zahra was still speechless with a blank look as Erwin started to stand back up. "Assalamualaikum," said Erwin as he grabbed the suitcase filled with money and then stepped away from Zahra who was still sitting on the floor.

Although it felt heavy, but Erwin still stepped his legs. It hurts if he has to leave Zahra, but it hurts even more if he lets Rena there. The choice was only two, both or none (Rena and Zahra being her whole family, or none at all).

Erwin stopped a taxi to take him to the airport.  When he was about to open the door suddenly something slid smoothly against his arm.

Erwin grimaced in pain as he received a shot from someone wearing a black hodiee on the other end who immediately ran after shooting Erwin. Surprisingly the shot did not sound and did not have any effect on his skin, because the pain immediately healed instantly. Erwin got into the taxi and opened his long shirt sleeve. Bleeding a little not too bad, but the shot was right about his arm. The bullet is not a dangerous bullet.

I don't know what that person meant, which even made the taxi driver unaware that he had just been shot by an unknown person.

"Where are you going, sir?"

Erwin flinched, then turned towards the driver.  "Soekarno-Hatta Airport, sir."

Rena immediately woke up from her sleep after hearing the sound of gunfire. The little girl screamed after her three friends were shot by someone. The bodies of the three children who were covered in blood were immediately carried by them one by one out of the slum filled with cardboard used.

Rena dragged her feet back away from them. He was so scared, so horrible. Rena was so shocked, that her cries did not dare to make a sound.

Now only Rena and one friend left who came from China. The two of them still looked in shock, and could not say anything more, his gaze blank. Really, the two of them had forgotten how to cry out in fear.

The door opened again, appearing the figure of Rian who had just come ushered in by the two men wearing black tuxedos. Rian had just assembled a bomb and performed some experiments that he mastered. In fact, Rian was also told to hack Dendy's phone, Rena's grandfather, because Rustam wanted to kill Dendy who he said survived when his hitman acted.

Rena was completely sculpting in place while biting her clenched finger, as if unconscious by Rian's presence.

Rian could only speak in his heart. "You'll catch up with them soon."

Erwin dropped his phone, then turned to look at the two Rustam messengers who picked him up at the airport. Erwin incessantly recited the word Istighfar in his heart, asking for protection from the Almighty.

While waiting for the call of the flight plane to Beijeng, they sat in the waiting room. Actually Erwin could have flown alone to Beijeng using a private plane, but in order to fulfill their request Erwin had to give up and let himself in danger. Yes, it still leaves her in danger, unlike Rena who is already in danger.

Silence enveloped the three of them. In fact, the boisterous sounds of people passing by all around them seemed to turn silent. Erwin who chose the seat in front of them continued to stare at them sharply, he should always be on guard, as they could commit a crime at any time. Erwin should not be careless at all during the 7-hour drive to Beijeng.

One of the two of them suddenly chuckled at the unsightly look Erwin always displayed. "As long as you bring something we like, you always win."

Erwin still maintained his flat face. "What are your plans?"

"Plan? Our plan is to barter money with your child's safety, interesting isn't it?" answer the man lightly.

Erwin clenched his hand furiously. "You dare to guarantee me safety until Beijeng and bring my son back to Indonesia?"

The burly man wearing the black shirt flicked his hand. "Easy, can be set. I told you while you have money, you'll always win."

Erwin slightly sighed in relief. Because he thought that they did not intend to pick up, but only to snatch the money in Erwin's hands, then left without giving Rena to him.

"We're just tasked with making sure that you don't bring the security forces there." The man explained. "Less well how are we? Always think positive, sir."

Erwin fell silent. There was a voice call that explained that the airline to Beijeng would soon take off, the three packed up to get ready to enter the aircraft cabin.

Erwin immediately chose an empty seat next to the girl wearing a red hoodie, while the two men sat on the bench opposite him.

Erwin re-opened the wound behind his old blue shirt. What did that strange shot mean? What does this have to do with those two people? Erwin glanced at the two koplak men sent by Rustam who had fallen asleep next to him.

"Sleep, brother, it's still a long journey." The girl wearing a hoodie next to Erwin suddenly hits Erwin's watch.

Erwin was surprised. "Ah, yes," answered Erwin clumsily, but he was only dealing with a girl of Zahra's age.

In his heart Erwin unceasingly recited istighfar. He should always be alert and careful to everyone he meets. But.., by the way true words of the man earlier. "Always feel good to people."

"Sister to Beijeng for vacation or work?" ask the girl next to him.

"Hmm, I..," Erwin seemed to think. "Ah, yes, holiday."

"Owh, if I want to go to college there, sister," the girl smiled, as if she was interested in Erwin. She did not know that Erwin had been married twice. But who can realize, if Erwin's face is in fact always sweet and handsome like a young man who is not too old, but not too young, mediocre.

Erwin looked down, staring at the picture of Rena plastered on the screen of his phone fixedly. He gulped his saliva with great difficulty while closing his grievous eyes. "Rena Papa will meet you."

"Zahra, you have to be strong. I'll be back."

Erwin's finger trembled as he was about to scroll Rena's photo to the side. Now the photo of Rena changed with the photo Viola. Erwin awkwardly thrust it towards the girl next to him. "When would you meet this woman there, call me, would you?" said Erwin while giving his card.

The woman nodded observing the photo of Viola. He was not at all surprised to see the name Erwin Zamzami with the rank of a CEO in one of the vendors of high-spec and quality smartphone companies from Indonesia listed on the Erwin business card.

"May I take your cell phone?" the girl smiled. The red hoodie girl changed the word 'Sister', to 'Father' after seeing Erwin's rank. "Make sure you're home."

"Ah, the phone has many memories." Erwin smiles. "Someday, if you meet this woman and call me right away, I'll give you a gift."

"Indophone latest output 12 GB RAM, sir?" the woman was very enthusiastic and very happy.

Erwin nodded.

"Gee, I hope I can find your wife." The woman kissed Erwin's hand.

Wife?  Even my wife is your age now. But you respect me as much as I am a person much older than you.
