Since I Meet You's

Since I Meet You's
Memories

"Tika!", Mr. Sharif smiled warmly and raised wrinkles around his cheeks, mouth and nose.

"yes, sir! what did you call me?", I approached Mr. Sharif who was sitting in his place.

"this is for you, do not forget the spirit of learning", Mr. Syarif handed me a packet of chocolate bread like I usually buy in the cafeteria.

"ah you must have heard my stomach singing, right!?", I glanced at Mr. Sharif who chuckled.

"it doesn't matter, now you eat that bread and go to your class. Let the father who permits late if you are helping the father finishin the book perpus", he moved from his seat while taking his mobile phone.

"really, sir!? well, thank you very much, yes, sir!?", said I who sparkled to hear the statement of Mr. Sharif.

"Who are you today?", he continued without answering me

"The hour is Hendri sir!", I replied enthusiastically.

"just relax and enjoy your food first, I will meet Mr. Hendri to borrow your time 10 minutes", Mr. Syarif patted my shoulder as he passed looking for Mr. Hendri to ask for permission late for me.

I also opened the bread pack that Mr. Sharif gave me with pleasure and then devoured it. I am truly indebted to him because he was willing to lie for the sake of this starving me.

One day I will repay you, sir!, my inner self

After a pack of bread I had finished, I drank a glass of mineral water that Mr. Sharif gave before going out earlier. Because I was bored, I got up and picked up some books that the students left on the table for me to return to the shelf with the other collections. I used to do this with Mr. Sharif when the school was in the exam period and classmeeting, so I quite memorized the location of the school library collection.

5 Minutes passed, Mr. Syarif returned and was surprised because the work was completed. Yes, usually Mr. Sharif will clean up the books alone, and now I do it because I feel uncomfortable if I see something that is messy. Mr. Sharif approached me who was sitting waiting for his arrival.

"how, sir?", I spontaneously asked

"it turns out Mr. Hendri is having needs outside, so you can go back to your class. You are afraid to miss the task given by him", he said.

I also understand.

"alright, sir. Excuse me first, and also thank you for the bread", I smiled broadly at Mr. Sharif.

"already, I've considered you like my son. Go, and do your duty diligently" he said. I nodded and immediately left the library. I immediately ran to remember the location of my class which was quite far away.

Arriving at class, I immediately sat next to my friend named Rita. Rita looked at me strangely because I was late to enter than usual.

"where are you Tik? tumben was late!?", Rita turned her eyes back to her book because when I arrived Rita was working on a task.

"oh, that was from the perpus. Bantuin Pak Syarif ngeberesin book. He said Mr. Hendri didn't exist, did he!?", I switched the conversation.

"hahaha..is it not that you are always lazy!? except for the ngegosipin do'i", my god.

"hehee. You know Tik. Oh yes, you already know the task?", Rita reminded

"yet. What page is it?", I said while looking at LKS Rita.

"emmmm.. Page 29, Tik", he answered while biting the end of his pen.

"It seems like I've been working, deh", after I checked my LKS has been filled.

"wah, is that right? no wonder you are in the top 10. His job is blom in love, but it's been done. Whoa, whoa, great!", Rita exclaimed quite loudly which made the attention of the students turn towards the two of us.

"psstt... You can not speak slowly!?", I rebuked Rita who often lost control of her voice.

"yes, yes. sorry", Rita chuckles.

We are also back with our own duties. I worked on another page that I hadn't worked on, and Rita continued with the task at hand.

Time passed, and there was time to go home. All the students were busy tidying up their books and then scattering out of class after reading prayers and saying goodbye to the teacher. When other students return home from school, they will immediately head to the parking lot to pick up the bike they are using or wait for an invitation outside the school gate. I who currently do not carry a bicycle just walk leisurely after taking a basket and fried sales today from Ms. Ida. I kept the money I earned in my pocket while walking towards the highway where public transport usually passes.

I turned to the right-left side of the road thinking about what I would cook for me to eat with my father and sister. The rice and food in the house are gone. So, I decided to go to the market first for shopping then would go home on foot to save. The road to the house is about 20 minutes and to go to the market looks like it will take more than this.

I continued to step with enthusiasm to immediately go home while humming. I saw the market I was heading to start to look across the street, and I just needed to cross the street. I took a step faster, and I accidentally saw my ugly shoelaces come off. I only have one shoe, and I've been wearing it for about 3 years. So no wonder if my shoes are dusty and there are patches on it.

I immediately crouched down to fix my shoelaces, and tied them back neatly. I remember my mom and dad buying these shoes for me. Dad even willing to go home for a few days and mother add work as art from house to house to increase income then the results to be stored in order to buy me a new bag and shoes on the birthday my year.

I smiled broadly recalling the memory of how unfortunately my father and mother were to me and my sister. Now my job is to serve my father and learn well to make him proud of my achievements. I also reminded my sister to always study diligently so that my efforts to send us to school were not in vain and one day made my father proud.

After I tied up neatly I got back on my feet and continued on my way to the market. As soon as I got close, I started looking left and right to cross the road. And at that time the road was quite crowded, so I waited until a bit quiet to be able to cross.

I began to cross carefully as the passing vehicles were slightly reduced. I went to the vegetable store and bought some vegetables that I was going to cook for my family's lunch. Not to forget I also went to the grocery store to buy rice and my sales needs tomorrow. I paid for everything and then continued on my way home.

I went back across the street. Since the market is located opposite the road to the school, I have to pass through an alley that will take me home. And to get home, I had to walk back to get to the alley to the house. With a plastic bag on both hands, I walked with a happy feeling because I would soon be home.

The road to my house is only a narrow alley that can fit 1 car, but on this road it is also quite crowded with passing motorcycles. When I turned towards the alley, it suddenly broke!
