Simultaneously in one of the conference rooms at the Anderlecht RSC Headquarters in the city of Anderlecht
Anderlecht Club management meeting is underway to finalise Nero's contract terms.
Andre Marcel, head coach of the newly appointed Anderlecht senior team, sat to the left of Roger Vanden Stock, the club's chairman. Tim Borguet, the club's legal chief, added to his argument.Mr Borguet sought to prevent management and board members from agreeing to Nero's high-paying contract.
"We are taking a big risk by offering that much money to players who are just coming out of the academy" said Mr. Borguet, his tone is no pleasantries."I'm aware he's been performing well but that doesn't guarantee he'll continue playing at the same level when he joins the senior team. We could incur considerable losses if we continue with this deal."
"Such arguments are unfounded," Roger Vanden Stocl, the club's chairman, his tone underestimated.“I've watched videos of Nero's performances during the Riga, SIA, and Belgian Youth Cups.I can say this with a hundred percent confidence.Level Nero is well above the average player in Pro Ligue. How do you think, it's a good idea, Coach Marcel?" The chairman asked, glancing towards him.
Coach Marcel cleared his throat before answering.I have coached Nero since he arrived here in Brussels. I support the chairman's decision. In just two years, he has perfected his skills to become one of the promised young players across Europe. That kid has unlimited potential. Few players with the ability to claim a place among the greats."
"For those of you who are not sure should watch the video of the match from SIA or Riga Cups. He's up against some of the best young teams in Europe."Coach Marcel smiled gently, letting his gaze explore the other executives on the table."Nero has always managed to maintain his composure and score goals even when one teammate makes another poor performance."
"I have full confidence after he will continue to develop and even join the senior team. If I had been commissioned to draft a contract, I would have offered more money to motivate him during his time at the club."He added in a serious tone.
"I'm not trying to argue that Nero has no talent" Mr. Borguet interrupted, making him dizzy."My main concern is about the terms of the contract. Although the new deal firmly ties him to the club over the next two years, it also leaves us committed to keeping him in the — squad whether he makes an appearance or not. If the latter happens, and we want him off the initial list, we'll have to pay an excessive penalty fee."
The head legal adviser locked in with Coach Marcel before continuing."Coach, you must have received Nero's medical results. You should pay attention to some of the matters of concern in his report."
"Is there a problem with Nero's fitness?"Club chairman, club forehead.
"No, not at all," Mr. Borguet hastily corrected, giving the hand once to give emphasis."No problem with his fitness. In fact, he's one of the fittest young players I've met."
"Then what's the problem?"Chief, throw a cursory glance at Coach Marcel.
"There's only one thing about Nero," Coach Marcel cut, to clarify."During this time it has entered a late growth spurt the past few months. In just six months, Nero had grown a few inches. He should be 6.4 feet at the moment. We are not sure yet if he will continue to improve." the coach explained.
"But I guarantee this growth will not affect Nero's performance when he joins the senior team" he added."We will adapt it to a special training routine to help him adjust to his growing physique. You can hold my word about this."He added with great enthusiasm.
In 2007, Italian giants AC Milan signed Alexandre Pato from Internacional for €24 million. During the first game against Napoli, he scored an incredible goal.Like our Nero, he is fast, skilful, and one of the most clinical young players. He has the potential to win at least one Ballon d'Or on the way."
"However, just six months after his debut in AC Millan, things started to go wrong" Mr. Borguet applied it to give emphasis.Although that was the case, it was still brought to everyone in the room.
"Some factors led to its striking decline in performance. Arguably, he is not facing a challenge in the top league. Or maybe the temptation fostered by making a lot of money, much higher than the previous income, lowers the focus."
However, the most negative impact was his late growth spurt messing up his running posture and dribbling. Mr. Marcel, as a coach, understands this matter better than I do."
"As a result, he started getting injured all the time due to his dribbling posture and chaotic running. It was the beginning of his true setback."
"I'm not saying that accelerating growth is the only thing that can affect Nero" added the law.“There are many other things that can go wrong and affect his appearance.Perhaps, a bad boyfriend, an unknown disease, a, etc.We should not offer such a lucrative contract before observing his performance and attitude at a professional level.all I have to say."
Roger Vanden Stock, the chairman, nodded."I understand You. However, Mr. Borguet, any investment is often risky. You can buy real estate only for earthquakes that can damage your property the next day. You buy a listed company, but the next month, that too."
Lockdown Chair with Mr. Borguet and add.“I do not believe that Nero Juniar is a worthwhile investment. Moreover, we have not paid much in the grand scheme to get his services.Imagine it if we buy his classmates from other academies.Must pay?I'd say probably a lot." He laughed, and saw it. "Call right, Marcel?"
"Yes, Chairman," replied Coach Nero while nodding."A player of his calibre is valued at around 20-25 million Euros in the current transfer window. We're lucky to get it for free."
The nine executives in the conference room, except Mr. Borguet, laugh at that.
"By the way," the chairman interrupted, leaning back in his chair."I'm of the view that we maintain the terms of Nero's current contract."He stopped, glancing towards the eyes of the law."Mr. Borguet, I am aware of the law of this agreement. However, I risked Nero's talent in this case. If he performs, we will make a big profit. If he doesn't do it, we'll consider this another small loss for the club. Okay?"
"Yes, Chairman," replied Mr. Borguet.
"Good," the chairman nodded, nonsense."Let's get ready to get ready. Nero and his agent will be here in about an hour. He's a talent that grows locally, straight to the academy, we have to do our best to welcome him to the senior team."
