Mehru and Kheiren go to Matuo's house after carrying various medicinal concoctions. When they arrived there they were surprised by the many residents who swarmed Matuo's house without anyone daring to go inside.
They seemed disgusted to enter the house by whispering as they pleased.
"What's Uncle?" mehru asked one of the residents who had covered his nose and mouth.
"Matuo is in a lot of pain. But now it's Rumbe's wife's turn to get infected. No one dared to approach them, let alone help."
"Then please disperse the entire population. Don't let anyone come to visit Rumbe's uncle and aunt before they're completely healed."
"You're the one who told them. They will surely listen to your words, for you are the son of the chief."
Mehru seemed to think back, and followed the advice given by one of the residents.
Mehru split the crowd, and made the citizens slightly retreat from the doorstep of Matuo's house.
"You all listen to me" Mehru spoke out loudly.
"Uncle and Aunt Matuo are currently suffering from a rare disease. We do not know what really happened, so the way of transmission of this disease is so fast. For that I advise you not to go to Uncle and Aunt Matuo's house for a while."
"Who will take care of them?" ask one of the residents.
Mehru. He has not thought about this issue, because he also just found out about contracting Matuo's wife.
"Shall we bring in a healer from outside the village? in the village we do not have a healer or a shaman. We must have people like that to help our citizens if anyone is affected by the disease" said one resident.
"Yes really." the discordant voice of some residents makes the atmosphere so frenzied.
"I'll talk about this with the chief. We accepted your proposal, but before that we have to find a way to cure Uncle Matuo's illness."
"So you'll take care of him until the healer comes?"
"Yes. At least I'll have to do that for a while until we get the healer or shaman we need." Answer Mehru.
"Then what if you also contracted Mehru? what can we do?"
Mehru fell silent again, to be honest there was a little fear that was struggling with him because he was facing a disease that he had never seen before.
"May that not happen. Just in case, I suggest you should keep your homes clean. Watch the water you drink or cook. We still don't know what this disease is caused by, so it doesn't hurt to be on guard."
All the heads of the citizens seemed to nod in agreement at the suggestion that Mehru spoke.
"Now please go home to each of you. Kheiren, you please go home first. Tell Baba I'm not coming home tonight."
"Emm." Kheiren nodded and left with his horse.
Meanwhile, the residents have managed to disband Mehru. Then Mehru entered Matuo's house.
Matuo and his wife are very worried. Matuo looked limp, as his wife did not take care of herself today
While Rumbe was newly exposed to the disease, his body seemed so hot and shivering.
Mehru tore off the ends of her clothing cloth and tied them to cover her mouth and nose. That's what he did just in case.
"Auntie. Drink a lot, I'll make you food first, after that you can take my concoction."
"Just give mehru the cure straight away, aunt really can't stand the heat and the itch."
"Please don't scratch it aunt. It's possible that aunt contracted fluid from the blisters' wounds."
"But it's really sore and itchy."
"Patience. I'm trying to get my uncle and aunt healed. We fight together, right?"
Mehru gives a drink also to Matuo, until the lips of the man who looks dry kerontang it back a little moist.
Mehru goes to the kitchen where Rumbe cooks. Seeing the messy and unkempt state of the kitchen, Mehru understood that Rumbe was lacking to maintain the cleanliness of his residence. Mehru decided to make grits, because that was all there was in Rumbe's kitchen.
Once cooked, Mehru put the warm porridge into the bowl. While Kheiren had just arrived with a few pieces of pork sent by Saguni's mother.
"Auntie, Uncle, eat the porridge while it's warm. Here are some pork chunks, you can eat them with porridge."
"Thank you Mehru, you two are good girls. May the one who created us always take good care of you."
Mehru and Kheiren smiled and helped the husband and wife to finish their meal. After that Mehru gave the couple medicine and then told them to go back to rest.
"What do you want to do next to Matuo's uncle and aunt."
Kheiren and Mehru sat in a wooden chair in front of Matuo's house.
"I don't know. For a while we could only take care of them as they were. Did you tell Baba about Matuo's uncle and aunt's condition?"
"Ya Baba will send people to find out if next door has a good healer or shaman. They will be brought to our village, or even told to stay here forever."
"That's great. Looks like our village does need a reliable disease healer."
"Also need shamans of course. Some think that this strange disease is due to witchcraft."
"Science magic? is that possible? what advantage could the witch obtain from Rumbe's uncle and aunt. They have nothing but this reot hut."
"True as well" Kheiren said.
"Rather than thinking about things that are not necessarily true, it is better to concoct natural remedies only. That's much more tangible the result than it is to prosecute witchcraft."
"Emm." Kheiren.
"Eh? that's what? why did they come in such a huddle?" mehru asked when he saw a crowd of people walking on foot and seemed to have been very exhausted.
In the front row were two handsome young men, who became a guide for the people behind them. While in other lines there are rows of girls, parents and children.
Mehru and Kheiren blocked the path of the group with a little talk.
The two young men stared at the two girls who were in front of them with an indecipherable look.
"Sorry what need did you come to our village?" ask Kheiren.
"We want to meet with the chief of this village. Can you show us his house?" ask Mawe
"I'm sorry if I may know of any interest are you looking for the chief's house?" ask Kheiren.
"We are refugees from the next village."
"So you're the victims of the earthquake?" ask Mehru.
"Yes. Can we meet the chief of this village? we want to ask for his help." asked Galeo.
"certain. You just walk straight ahead, the house on the left is the house of the chief." Answer Mehru.
"thank you. Eee...."
"Mehru. My name is Mehru, and this is my friend Kheiren." Answer Mehru.
"Thank you Mehru and Kheiren. Let's introduce my name to Galeo, and this is my friend Mawe. Then we continue on our journey,"
"Please" said Mehru.
Mehru stared at the departure of the group until he could no longer see the backs of the men. Mehru felt a little worried, considering that their village had just appeared a rare disease. Mehru did not want the migrants to feel restless and afraid, considering they had just been hit by a terrible calamity.
