After the interview is over

Jack watched Abi who was enjoying coffee while watching Indira who was busy with her documents. He is aware of the vibrations that occur between Abi and Indira, which may not be realized by the two. But he tried to ignore it.

“Why didn't you reveal the identity of Mr Jireh or the megaproject?”

Abi smiles. He put his coffee on a table nearby. “Tuan Jireh is a very genius opponent. He already knew that Indira and I often use the media to our advantage. I'm sure, he must have prepared himself to face such an attack. Even if your television station wants to broadcast our interview, he must have mastered another television station and they will make a counter-broadcast aimed at discrediting me.”

Jack gave a small nod, agreeing to the conditions said by Abi.

“Then, what is this interview for?”

“To inform the public about the currently miserable legal conditions in this country.”

“You don't have to tell him,” Jack said chuckling. “The death penalty can be free when the case goes to the supreme court, then the lawyer who revealed his crime was even jailed for unreasonable reasons. The case alone already illustrates how dilapidated the law in this country.”

Abi contemplating. He also knew that it was not only Mr. Jireh who undermined the rule of law in this country. There are a lot of people playing. And sadly, they are the smartest people most expected to uphold justice.

“But, I not only want to tell them, but rather move their hearts to fight back. I want to make them aware that they can fight as well, as I am doing. They must remember that all citizens are simultaneously in law and government and are obliged to uphold the law and government with no qualms. They also have the right and obligation to improve the law in this country.”

Jack and Indira looked at Abi who looked very fiery, even exceeding his spirit when reading the pledoi in front of the camera earlier. However, Jack still underestimates Abi's lofty goals. To him, it was just utopia.

“How fun would it be if it really happened. But our society is apathetic. Their helplessness all along made it. The power they had to fight was too superior and they did not have enough strength, even just to talk. And I'm not sure if your speech just now will change their hearts or not.”

“We'll see later. To be sure, I have plans for the mega project and the identity of Mr. Jireh can be revealed without intervention from the old man,” Abi said.

“Iya, but -”

Jack's words came to a halt when he realized his daughter was touching his arm. As he looked, Indira smiled widely until her eyes narrowed. “Take it easy. Abi definitely knows what to do.”

Jack was stunned to hear his daughter's words. He saw sincerity in Indira's eyes and it was not blind optimism. There is a great belief based on the experience he has had with the young man.

Finally, he gave up.

“Alright, I will not question your ability to plan again,” Jack said as he continued his cleaning activities. “Then, how about ‘Nyonya’? Are you also going to reveal his identity?”

“I will definitely reveal it. Although it will be news that shakes this country, I will definitely reveal it,” Abi said steadily.

Meanwhile, in the Maharaja lecture, Andika sat in her cell while reading one of the books of other literary works that have also been imprisoned such as Pramoedya Ananta Toer, namely Sitor Situmorang. Although it was a collection of poetry and poetry was not his favorite reading, he tried to enjoy the book entitled In the Rhyme. True, he was too stupid to think that the book could not contain a collection of rhymes even though the title was already so.

“Detention 0608! Someone wants to meet you,” said an officer from outside the cell door.

Andika stood up and approached the door that the key was opening. He never came to visit her except her lawyer. But, he did not have a schedule to meet a lawyer today.

“Lho, where to?” andika asked when she saw the officer directing her to another corridor, not toward the hall.

“Someone wants to meet you and that person is not an ordinary visitor,”.

Andika's heart started pounding. He is very afraid that someone who wants to meet him is someone he does not want to see. His fear grew even greater when he realized that they were walking towards the prison area for level two. Surely the person who wants to meet him is an important person.

Apparently, their journey is quite far. Andika did not expect that the area for level two was quite large. And their goal is the end of the area. Finally, they reached the very end of the prison.

The officer looked at Andika and opened the door. Apparently, there was still a door waiting for them inside. Andika's heart almost stopped beating when she looked behind the door. A sight that is not at all suspected.

He saw the room like a vast royal palace with a luxurious interior. There was even a luxurious chair that looked like a royal throne. Although inside the room, there was not the slightest gloomy impression. The lighting is very good and the aroma in every corner of the room is also fragrant. The room is still considered a prison cell.

“I heard from Jireh that the little bastard who had been bothering us had escaped again from this prison. And Jireh suspected that someone helped him from inside the prison for the escape action. I wondered, who is that. Turns out, he's a guy I know very well, an old friend I haven't seen in a long time.”

Andika was completely shocked when she saw that talking figure. She was a fat old woman with a kebaya wrapped in her body and a bun stuck in her head, walking towards a seat similar to the royal throne. As the woman said, Andika really knew him very well. Although it had been nearly thirty years since they had last met, Andika could not possibly forget it.

“Nyo, Mistress. Ba, how is it possible?”

“You don't have to see me like that. Like I was seeing a ghost,” the woman joked.

Actually, it was only natural for Andika to see like that. To him, he was seeing a ghost. How not? The last time he saw her was at a funeral. Yeah, that woman's funeral.
