Chapter 24: Barren Island

After yesterday's incident the capital of the elves received enough damage. But the remaining demons were treated well for being subordinates of Ferisu.

The next day they all gathered to go to the dead land. They went through a detour so as not to meet humans or beastmen.

The location of Dead Land was across the sea from the beastman territory. To go to the island they needed a ship.

In a forest Licia asked Ferisu. "Ferisu-sama, why don't you just fly?". Licia.

"Fly off?". Ferisu was confused.

"That's right, the vampire race should have a pair of wings made of magic". Licia.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but a vampire that can take out wings is the 3rd stage of evolution: a true vampire. Right now you're in the 2nd evolution of vampires". Kijin.

"So well, I'm sorry I don't really understand the concept of evolution of the demon race". Licia.

"Hey, how does it feel to evolve? are there any side effects or anything?". Ask Ferisu.

"Can I trust the night watch on you guys later?". Ferisu.

After a long journey, the day began to darken. At night they build a tent for Ferisu only, while they will sleep outside.

Inside the tent, Licia had fallen asleep, while Ferisu was still awake and trying to make an evolution.

The next morning, Ferrisu awakens on Licia's lap. "Hoam, morning princess". Ferisu muttered who woke up.

"Mouu, don't call me princess". Said Licia by puffing her cheeks.

"Somehow it's like I'm starting to feel comfortable being around her". Ferisu muttered in his heart, then woke up from Licia's lap.

"Good morning, Licia". Said Ferisu with a smile.

"Eh?". Licia was shocked and her face turned slightly red.

"What's wrong?". Asked Ferisu in surprise.

Licia who was shocked when Ferisu called her by name asked to be called again. "Fe~ Ferisu-sama.. please say it again". Said Licia timidly.

"Good morning, Licia". Ferisu said back while gently stroking Licia's head.

"Name... You mean sir, you want to give us all names?". Say the kijin with surprise.

Ferisu also thought and found a good name for the kijin. "Kenshin's? how about that?". Ferisu.

The Kijin was on his knees. "Thank you sir! I will never disappoint you!". Kenshin.

"After evolving my magic energy rose 3x fold". Ferisu muttered in his heart.

They continued their journey after Ferisu gave them all his name and his magic energy was drained by 90%.

Time passed so quickly they finally reached a beach and met the goblins who were waiting for Ferisu's arrival.

"Finally you arrive, sir. But who are they all?". Takeo.

"They're your new friends, I can say they've also made a contract with me". Ferisu.

Takeo nodded and greeted the other demons. After they finished getting acquainted they also discussed about the ship to sail to the dead land.

Ferisu also proposed to make a ship, because there could be no one who would be willing to accommodate the demon race in their ship.

With his knowledge of past lives, Ferisu gives a blueprint for making a ship. For now he only gave the shape of a ship made of wood.

The shipbuilding process can run quickly and only takes 1 week because it uses magic. In the end a large ship that can accommodate many people was completed.

"Well let's go there!". Said Ferisu with spirit.

"Yahoo!!!!". Shouted everyone.

The ship was given an enchant magic by Ferisu so as not to be easily destroyed and in case of a monster attack. However, the journey was so smooth and not a single monster attacked until they reached an island so empty and there was no life. They got off the ship and set foot on the arid island.

"This place is really as I said". Ferisu.

"I am the spirit of the land that lives on this island". Answer the old man.
