Real Inheritors

Real Inheritors
while in prison

Dafi never expected, the task that was thought to be very easy was precisely the beginning of the destruction of his future. Even though he denied thousands of times it felt free. In fact, not infrequently he was treated harshly because he was considered to have covered up the truth by not mentioning the name of the Master of the drug owner.

"I really don't know, sir. What is the name of the person, and what is the contents of the package. I swear to God, sir! I was asked to deliver the package. I want to go home. Sir, set me free! I am innocent!" raung Dafi in the interrogation room.

The evidence is already real at the scene of the crime (TKP). A package of drugs that seem deliberately traded. The officers also seemed to have been caught off guard by Dafi's confession trying to prove himself, with that sentence again. They also left Dafi with a guard to be returned to the iron-tested room.

But not long after ....

"Attent. I remember the license plate number of the man who told me that night, sir" Dafi told the prison warden who drove him to the cell. The look on his face was happy because he thought that his memory would make him gain freedom.

"Why didn't you say that?" snapped the warden who then pulled the rough Dafi clothes into the room of another warden officer who likely had a higher position than the warden.

"What else is it?" ask the officer by Jaka's name.

"He said he remembered the license plate of the man who told him to, sir," the officer said, forcing Dafi to sit on the seat, and face Jaka head-on.

Jaka was wretched, then asked his partner to come out and close the door. Dafi was astonished, but did not dare to ask.

"Write it here" Jaka said as he handed Dafi a blank piece of paper.

Without being asked twice, Dafi wrote down the license plate he remembered. In the heart of the teenager was cursed because previously had forgotten the thing that might be very important. After finishing, Dafi returned the paper to Jaka.

Jaka had widened his eyes. With a growling voice the warden asked, “You're sure this is the license plate?”

“Yakin, Sir. Sure one hundred percent,” nods Dafi coupled with a very confident expression.

“You're outside. Come here!” call Jaka to his partner.

The warden who had brought Dafi was seen from behind the door. While squeezing the paper, Jaka asked his colleague to return Dafi to the cell.

“Pak. Sir! I'll be free ‘kan, Sir? I am not wrong,” screeches Dafi while looking at Jaka who lowered his gaze still with his hands firmly clenched the paper earlier.

Dafi was dragged back to the holding cell. The teenage boy was encouraged to go inside the cell while bowing his head. Dafi had wrongly guessed. His testimony of the license plate actually made him more trapped in slander as a drug courier.

It was clearly recorded sadness on the faces of his mother and father who forced him to attend the conference even though he was sick. Dafi was sentenced to 13 years in prison. After a few months, he was transferred to special custody along with other drug convicts. Since then, Dafi has forbidden her mother to visit.

“Mothers believe in Dafi ‘kan? Dafi is not wrong, Ma.” The sentence he always said while sobbing in front of his mother who came to visit.

“Mother believe, Son. Even though the judge has found you guilty, but I will always believe your child is innocent,”, Ayu said with teary eyes.

“Thank you, Mom. Dafi promised to survive here. One day Dafi will come out, then will work so that mom and dad can rest enjoy the old days. Take care of your health, too, Father. You no longer need to look at Dafi here, let Dafi be strong. If you often see Dafi, Dafi wants to come home, Mom.” The mother and son hugged while crying. Although heavy, Ayu followed Dafi's request.

Days changed by week. Week changing month. The month changed years. No one ever visited Dafi again. The boy grew up in a prison environment which is certainly not easy.

No parental affection, no one noticed when the pain hit. In fact, not infrequently Dafi must survive the bullyan fellow inmates who are older.

Dafi is often made into a lackey. He also several times involved in fights with fellow inmates be it cellmates or other cells. From the first silence, Dafi began to fight if he did not make a mistake on other prisoners, and only looking for mistakes. From being battered at first, slowly but surely as time went on, Dafi grew into a bold and respected figure. He also often defends other inmates who get bullies from his seniors.

Until one day in the tenth year of his sentence ….

“Dafi. Someone looks at you,” said a warden who came to Dafi's detention cell.

“I, Sir? Who?” dafi asked in surprise as he approached the officer. Some of his cellmates also stared at each other in surprise as Dafi followed the officer's steps.

They arrived at the hall. Dafi was stunned when the officer opened the door. He wondered, could it be that his mother came?

But it wasn't. Because a man came. The man is now turning his back on him.

“Fifteen minutes is enough yes,” said the officer.

Dafi nodded. At the same time, the man turned around and said, “Thank you, Sir.”

“How are you?” ask the man flat.

Dafi approached. The closer, the clearer his memory of the man before him.

“You, you're the driver ‘ right? I remember, and I will never forget. You're the dog*an driver that set me up.”

Brak!

Dafi kicked down the table and walked over quickly, then pulled the collar of the middle-aged man before her.

“Brengs*k's chat. What are you going to do here, huh? Wanna laugh at me? Watch out you. If I'm free, you're the first to get my revenge. Basic, Anj*ng!” Dafi pushed the man so hard that his head almost hit the wall.

“Dafi. What's the matter? Do not make a fuss here,” stressed the officer who had come with Dafi from the doorway.

“Sorry, Sir. There is no pa-pa. Just misunderstand,” said the man while forcing a smile on the officer. The officer closed the door again.

Dafi smirked cynically at the unnamed man while saying mockingly, “Mistake what you said? You and your master framed me, stuck me in this place for years, and you said it was a misunderstanding?”

Brak!

Again Dafi kicked the table very strongly, even the man jumped. Dafi was very furious faced with people who became the beginning of the destruction of his life.

“Sa-I was wrong. B-but I didn't come here to laugh at you. S-me-.”

Brugh.

The man suddenly knelt down before Dafi who was still staring fiercely at him.

“I'm sorry. I didn't know it would end like this either. I'm really sorry,” regretted it with his head bowed very deeply.

Dafi fell silent. The man's attitude and speech made him slowly start to be able to master his emotions. Dafi pulled out a chair, and asked the man to sit down.

“Sit. What you did was useless,” said Dafi flatly.

The man moved from his position, and pulled the chair in front of Dafi.

“My name is Pendi, Den. As Aden knows, I am a driver. But sorry, I can't name my employer,” he said in a soft voice with a subdued look.

Dafi sneered cynically. So the guy just came to apologize? Screeched.

“My name is Dafi, not Aden. If you come just to apologize, I can't just forgive you. I understand in this you're innocent. But since you were the one who offered me back then, then you should also be responsible for all of this. When I'm free, I'll find you. You have to tell me who Baj*ngan is,” growled Dafi with a sharp look.

“Your time is up. Go,” said Dafi later.

“Den Dafi, the person who had framed Den Dafi was in Biantara Group. Look there, because after this I may not live anymore. Again, I'm sorry, Den. I am really sorry to have been the cause of Den Dafi being here,” he said, looking down deeply.

At the same time, the officer opened the door and called Dafi to come out. The officer's forehead frowned to see Pendi in his position.

Dafi got up from the chair with a confused look. He did not understand what Pendi said.

2 years 9 months later …..

Dafi was declared free after previously getting a decade remission, which was a 3-month reduction in prison terms. He is now almost 28 years old. He is no longer a plain teenager and is also weak. Armed with a determination, Dafi came out of the detention house.

“Biantara Group's. Whatever I'm gonna do to find that baj*tan over there. Whoever you are, I'll make you pay for the grief on my mother's face.”
