Memories of Death

Liana walked slowly with limp feet towards the prepared wheelchair not far from her bed. With the help of several nurses, Liana was finally able to sit quietly in her wheelchair. Then he stared at the short, half-gray brown-haired old woman sitting beside him. It was her aunt, the one who had always faithfully waited for Liana during her illness and had always been faithful to take care of Liana since both her parents died in an accident at the age of four years.

Liana exhaled as her aunt smiled. He felt happy, finally he could get out of this hospital, finally he could be free from the cage called this hospital. Finally, he was able to return to seeing the outside world as a normal person. Although there was still something in his heart. He could not remember why he was in this hospital, why he could not remember at all the days he spent in this hospital except for his last day. Why he could have a strange disease that he never even imagined in his entire life. Psychiatric diseases.

Even so, only one he believed in. I am not happy to be in this hospital. He was tired of being here. And he was also sad to be in this place. He also spent two years of his life in this terrible hospital.

Liana is a former mental illness. Previously, he was admitted to a mental hospital with a fairly high level of care. That meant, before, he was a person who was really sick of his soul to the point of being unable to be controlled using ordinary treatment. And worse, it happened for two years.

It seemed like something really bad had just happened to him. But Liana herself does not know “something” it, because she really does not remember it even a little. Clearly, because of this unknown incident, he became a patient in this mental hospital. Ever since he got out of this mental hospital and spent two months rest at his aunt's house, he was always fussy about asking about the strange incident to his aunt, however, he was, her aunt always tried to distract her and acted as if she didn't care about it anymore. And because of that, Liana gave up asking that.

After a two-month break, Liana's aunt, Darcy, decided to return to school Liana considering her two years spent in the hospital. Supposedly, if only Liana had not been sick for two years, she was already third grade High School now, however, due to too much passing through the important subject matter, she was already in third grade High School, he was forced to repeat from first grade.

While at her new school, Liana, who is trying to be friendly to all of these people, is quickly liked by many people including the teachers at her school. Although they knew that Liana used to have mental illness, they did not care about it at all, and always mingled with Liana as if Liana was a normal child.

Although Liana always smiled, she was still curious about the strange events that had happened to her two years ago before her life changed. Because he could no longer ask his aunt, he decided to try to find her alone. Finally, he asked one of his classmates how to recover lost memories.

“So you want to remember the strange thing that happened two years ago to you??” said Nelly, Liana's classmate who is most familiar with her. Then Liana nodded.

“It's easy, you know?? The elevator on the third floor of our school?? That elevator that's always closed??” ask again. Liana rolled her eyes while remembering. Then he remembered, the elevator is always closed and should not be used by anyone until dusty on the third floor.

“Padah, our school is six storeys high, but the only elevator is always closed. That's because it's a mystery in it. It is to restore the memory of someone who has been lost. Completely missing.”

“How easy is Liana. You just need to get in that elevator like you get in a regular elevator. Before you get into it, you have to solidify your heart and think deeply about what memories you will recall. After that go in.”

Liana carefully remembered Nelly's words as she walked through the stairs towards the third floor. His heart was now completely pounding. Either because of nervousness, or fear.

“After that, after you enter, you just have to wait until the elevator door closes. Make sure no one sees you. Once closed, you just need to close your eyes and continue to strengthen your heart and straighten your mind towards those lost memories.”

Now Liana was walking down the corridor, just a little more she reached the intended elevator. She continued to clasp tightly onto her skirt, she twitched her lips. This time, even cold sweat also participated in tightening the tense atmosphere.

“Then, remember this too. In the past, there were our upperclassmen who entered the elevator as well, at that time, the elevator was still very often used by people at school. However, different things happened to this upperclassman. He was known to be very quiet and always had problems with his family. And when he got into the elevator, and when the elevator had reached the sixth floor.

Liana continued walking while biting her finger. There are three more steps.

“Disappear.”

And now, Liana was actually standing in front of the elevator. He stared at the elevator with a paper that read “It is forbidden to use the elevator. While repair” stuck on elevator door.

Liana closed her eyes for a moment while adjusting her breath and emotions between nervousness and fear were mixed within her. Then he opened his eyes and stared steadily at the elevator full of courage. He pressed the green button next to the elevator, then the two elevator doors slid to the side. The elevator inside was full of dust.

A very stifling smell of dust greeted Liana. There were terrifying auras that emerged from inside the elevator and covered Liana's skin. Even so, there was only one thing that was in his heart at the moment. “I want to know the truth.” Liana muttered in a soft voice.

Then he got into the dusty elevator. The elevator door was closed. Liana pressed the button towards the sixth floor. He closed his eyes. Waiting for what happens next.

“Although this is just mere gossip, however, that upperclassman has completely disappeared.”

Liana gulped. He didn't care even if it was just gossip. He was really ready for what he was going to receive. He swore to himself, if this didn't work. Then he would kill himself by jumping from the sixth floor later. And after that, he will ask the truth to the God he will meet after he kills himself.

A few seconds later, he could feel two thin, dry hands closing his eyes from behind him. Very cold and rough hands. Liana was surprised, but she remained silent and focused her mind on what she wanted. There was the whispering of an old woman. Very small but clear.

“Do you want to know the truth?”

Then everything started spinning quickly in Liana's mind like a broken cassette. The memories began to appear. Memories of when he was in his old school. Liana is a child who is famous for her beauty. But he is arrogant. He is very happy to see the suffering of others, and always hurts the feelings of others with his words.

He remembered how he had always bullied a very intelligent but weak girl in his class. He always berated the boy, and spread a lot of false news about the boy. In fact, he once reported to the teacher that the boy stole his allowance and cell phone, even though it was his fault.

Then he recalled how the boy was screaming while sobbing in front of Liana as they were talking on the roof of the school together. The weak child said firmly that he was not strong with Liana's treatment, and he also shouted that he had never stolen. Liana remained distrustful of it, and began to speak ill of the boy's father being caught begging near Liana's house. Liana even talked to the boy how he told the boy's father about the theft of his money committed by his own son, and he also told the boy how his father's expression was really disappointed at that time.

Then he remembered how the boy was crying and screaming in front of Liana. In shock and fear of being heard by others, Liana quickly pushed the child from the roof of her school to the ground. Liana even still vividly remembered how the blood-filled face of the child was, her head breaking until her fresh blood flowed in the back area of the school. Even so, he was still breathing, his trembling hand writing something on the ground with his blood. “I hate.” Then the boy died with eyes full of hatred.

Out of fear, Liana rushed out of the place and went home. He did not go to school for a few days due to illness, although he always remembered the hateful face of the boy and also the disappointed face of the boy's father because of Liana's words. He could even remember how he pushed the boy down and died.

That frustrates him

and severe depression. Until finally, his soul and psychological disturbed and he experienced a prolonged mental illness.

While his memory was playing rapidly, his eyes that were covered in thin hands were letting out regretful tears. Every second he remembered the memories of death. Then Liana again felt depressed because remembering the incident again, she grabbed her own hair and screamed loudly.

It's a killer. Killer through his contemptible words.

On the sixth floor, Nelly waited with full concern in front of the elevator door that was still closing. Her heart kept praying for Liana to be safe. Then, there was the sound of a marker up from the elevator. Nelly is holding her position. Elevator door open.

All he saw was an empty dusty elevator.
