Pardoned

The two of them slept together that night, as a couple.

That morning Toni and Eva woke up at the same time, apparently the sunlight had not appeared but they had awakened because of the voices of a cook in the kitchen.

Eva's room was at the very back, right near the kitchen.

Eva and Toni soon wake up, both of them staring at their bewildered what they should do this early.

Toni is confused about what to do at her father-in-law's house because she also has no job there.

While Eva is confused by being around her parents, she feels awkward because of what just happened between them.

Finally both of them decided to leave the room, Toni who went out to the bathroom. Eva is out to help her mother cook in the kitchen.

"Mom..what are you going to cook today.."

said Eva greeted first.

"This.mother will cook soup and fry tempeh also make sambal..."

said Eva's mother while smiling faintly at her.

Seeing a slight smile from her mother, Eva immediately felt happy. Because after all the misunderstandings that happened his mother still forgave him

"Mom's not mad at me..."

"Ang is free..all has happened is not.Mom forgives you.so does your father..."

"Thank you mother.Thank you mother.have forgiven me..."

Eva said as she hugged her mother from behind.

"Yes already.don't do something like this Eva.you can hurt her later.."

"Let's just remember that mom won't hurt her..."

Eva and her mother's relationship went as usual, they cooked together until all the dishes were served at the table.

Toni just got out of the bathroom. He came out of the house to feel the cool air that he never felt while in Jakarta. The air was also cold, but it did not make Toni cold at all. He really enjoyed the cold air in the morning.

Toni saw her father-in-law cleaning the hoe next to her house. Feeling that there was nothing else Toni could do there, she finally approached Joni and made small talk with him.

"Emm..what is it, sir..."

even though he didn't answer I would keep asking.I know he's mad at me.but I won't just keep quiet.

toni's mind felt awkward when her greeting was not immediately answered by her father-in-law.

"Sorry..for my attitude yesterday to you.what still hurts...."

said Eva's father while looking at Toni at a glance.

The question was not answered but now his father-in-law asked about his condition. Toni who was shocked because of Joni's unexpected reaction even fell silent.

"I'm sorry I was just carried away by the emotion of that time.I didn't think anything would happen..."

"It's okay sir.I deserve everything.I was wrong..."

"Wrongly or not, I've assumed all this is fate..."

"I'm sorry sir.but I promise to take responsibility for Eva and her pregnancy..."

They talk a lot more, apologizing to each other. The conversation stopped as Eva yelled calling that the side dish was ripe and breakfast was in session.

They eat together in the living room, along with Eva's sister who just woke up from her sleep.

There was silence at breakfast together. Although they have forgiven each other but both Eva and Toni still feel awkward if they are among Eva's parents. Both of them remember how angry their parents were when they first came, especially when they saw Toni with a bruised body here.

"Are you planning on staying here.."

Toni did not answer, she just looked at Eva. Toni herself does not know how her life path is now more complicated and far from all her shadows first. He is now more resigned to all Eva's decisions in the future.

Eva, who understood the meaning of Toni's view, replied.

"Yes dad.it looks like we're going to stay here.do you mind..."

eva said to her father.

"No Eva.tinggallah.but Toni means also have to work here not...for your living expenses.."

"Right sir.but what I have to work in this village.I don't have much experience in working..."

toni said.

"You can come with me to work in the fields..."

answer Joni.

"Yes.ayah will teach you to work in the fields.In our village there is no more work except to take care of the fields.karna 80 percent of the area of this village consists of rice fields..."

said Siti chimed in.

"Alright father..mother ...Toni's probably gonna come with me to work from tomorrow.now let her rest first.."

said Eva looking pity on Toni, because of the injuries on her body.

the conversation just flowed, until the breakfast on each of their plates ran aground completely.

time passed, that afternoon when Siti and Eva were sitting in front of her house. Just having a warm conversation. Remembering Eva's childhood, while looking at Eva's younger siblings who played chases in front of her.

Suddenly a fat man came to them. And said with his special voice.

"Have not been home for a long time.ehh back and forth already bunting aja nihh..bunting same poor man again..nyesel no...tau it would be nice to marry me.. Your life so prosperous..."

said the man arrogantly, and it turned out that he was Erman sir.

Eva was only speechless, she only glanced at the man a glance, then stroked his stomach gently regardless of the words of the man before her that she hated long ago.

While his mother just smiled shyly at Mr. Erman without answering anything.

Not hearing any answers from the two of them Erman said again.

" But you still look beautiful Eva.despite your bunting situation.if you want.you can leave your poor man and marry me....I will be responsible with your son.living one child is not at all a burden to me.how ..."

erman said with a grinning smile at Eva.

Eva glanced at the smile, which made Eva shudder in horror.

he's still the disgusting guy I used to hate with that smile...

inner Eva looked towards Mr. Erman with an amused look.

Suddenly a voice sounded from inside the house.

"I can still support my wife and child sir.no need for the father to offer such help..."

toni said as she walked out to Erman with her upset face.

Feeling jealous or what, Toni seems unwilling if Eva falls in the arms of the man in front of her. Toni also already knows who he is, through Eva's narration that has told a lot about everything in his life.

"Oh so this anyway.the poor man of your choice..."

Erman looked at Toni with a condescending look.
