Chapter 39

The fire started burning red, the neighbors started to get crowded and stared at the fire. The news was heard by the Marcell family. Marcell and Anita rushed to the house.

Before long they arrived, Anita was so hysterical to see the blaze so red.

"Amelian...! Please save Amelia!" He screamed while crying.

Marcell looked at her with regret, He regretted making Amelia suffer. He finally ran towards such a huge fire.

Everyone was screaming, especially Anita. He could not help his grief and finally fainted.

Before long, the fire department arrived. And they made a move. The others went after Marcell to save the victim.

Marcell went inside with smoke that made him choke. He continued to break through the fire carefully. He went to the upper room looking for Amelia.

"Amelia, where are you?" His shouting.

Marcell kept looking through every room. He did not find Amelia, the officer came and persuaded Marcell to leave this house.

"Sir, we better go! I'm afraid that the debris from above will fall!" Said one of the firemen.

"No...! I have to find my wife's whereabouts!" Marcell replied with a twist.

Officers took Marcell by force. He could not resist, as his body began to limp in the smoke from the fire.

Marcell arrived outside and instantly the roof of the house began to collapse. There was nothing left, the fire had devoured the house voraciously.

Marcell looked at him with tears. His feet felt weak and fell to the floor.

"Amelian... Amelia...! Hix...Hicks..." Stirring.

The next day...

Marcell returned to the house, and the residents also searched for victims. Marcell still can't believe Amelia's gonna die in the fire.

"here...! There are 2 people here!" His shouting.

Marcell and the other residents immediately ran over and approached. Marcell's eyes began to round looking at the victim who was hugging.

"No way, there's no way it's Amelia!" He said in disbelief.

The residents immediately raised the bodies of both. Marcell noticed the two bodies and the result was nil. The body that can not be recognized because the whole body is charred and the skin is peeling.

Firefighters watched both bodies. "It looks like the bodies of women and boys!" His speech.

"No...! There's no way it's Amelia!" Shouted Marcell who looks crazy.

Before long, Anita came and cried hysterically. He could not see both bodies.

"Amelian...Dimas!" Shouted Anita who could not stem her tears.

Marcell hugged his mother. Both of them were crying with guilt. Moreover, Marcell, he could not forgive himself for this incident.

The residents decide to take her to the hospital, but Anita forbids it. It wants if the body is immediately taken care of and buried.

Marcell began to differ in understanding with Anita. Marcell wanted to do a test to make sure it was Amelia. But Anita refused and gave a slap to the child instead.

"It's not satisfied that you hurt Amelia, if you don't take the baby, maybe things won't turn out like this!" Shouted Anita.

"Ma, but we have to make sure that these two bodies are Amelia and Dimas." Marcell.

"Enough...! Mama doesn't want to argue with you anymore. What do you think, who else lives in this house besides Amelia and her sister." Answer Anita.

Marcell could not answer and follow the will of his mother. Both bodies were brought by a nearby mosque and immediately carried out the management of the body.

Marcell was silent, he kept staring at the shapeless debris of the building. He began to know all the togetherness with Amelia. He began to remember Amelia's smile that made him comfortable.

"Why...? Why does all this have to happen? Why should I be the reason for your death!" Marcell's mind was full of a thousand regrets.
